Just fought the Kappa monster, and the monsters are starting to get a bit more difficult. I managed to beat him without carting, but it was a pretty big change up from the other monsters I beat so far.

Shame as I'm not a fan of tower defence mechanics.
I quite liked the Tempered hunts in World, hopefully we get some decent end game content, there's no point grinding out HR gear past a few weapon loadouts until we have stuff to actually hunt with it.
@VoidofLight I havnt played any of the story, I just go straight to the hub and work through the list there.
Is the story worth going through or is it pretty forgettable?
@Mr-Fuggles777 There’s really no story in this game. I’m just doing the village quests fir the sake of doing them, and I’ll probably save the hub quests for playing with friends.

@VoidofLight it plays like a Gears and Destiny Hybrid with a healthy dose of Dooms gunplay.
If you have an xbox or PC it's on gamepass. I'm flitting between that, MHW and rise at the moment.
@Ulysses
Yeah, that’s the problem though- your favorite ones aren’t the same as other peoples favorite ones. And re-designing already designed armor sets is a lot of extra work, and would probably result in just having less monsters in the game (such as Tri with its 18 monsters).
I’m OK with redesigns here and there, but that’s something that should happen slowly over many different games, not all at once. New monsters provide new sets.
I just learned some key Rampage strats. I’m getting better at holding R before a Monster attacks an installation. And saving my crag and repel shots for the flying monsters, green icon and the blue icon monsters, which can usually drop em and then let the auto installations take care of business while I move on to the next.
And the better I get at this mode, the more I love it. I just S ranked the Bishaten Rampage and it felt amazing.
@urrutiap You cant go wrong with extra defense, which is what the Basarios armor is good for. You should be good to stick with your current set until then. Although, I have to ask, how good are you at offense? Because I like to say, "What's the point of defense if you're just that good??"
If you are a player who typically dont get hit often, I would def recommend more offensive armor skills like the Barioth set. Plus, unlike with older games, you dont need a certain point total to activate a skill. They are available immediately. So it may be good to look at mixed sets as well.
My armor set currently is a mess. A lot of different pieces mixed together, as I fully don’t want to commit to one set yet, due to most of them being the same in terms of defense.

@VoidofLight If you get multiple pieces of the same monster, you also get res boosts. Although, I personally could not care less about resistance. At least at this early stage of the game. But you are at least paying attention to the skills your amor gives you, right?
@Bronze Well Ive been playing Monster Hunter games to know when to attack and back off for healing etc.
Just started playing Rise late last night and mostly hopped online of the Gathering Hub quests with other people so I can get an early start with materials for weapons and whatever I can for armor.
As for the Basarios, Im not that far ahead in RIse yet.
