Thinking about picking up a physical copy as I've never played it before. What's the difficulty like? I remember the original release being pegged as extremely challenging which really puts me off.

It's not that hard. It's really not.

The game also has an easier casual difficulty, but I wouldn't use it. This game offers fair challenge, but not unreasonable by any means.

Huh that’s interesting, it seems a few effects were removed. Like the lines of electricity and the falling debris after the fight with the Parasite Queen. I wonder why is that.

Edit: looking at it closer, it seems they’re just harder to see

Debating whether to get a physical or Digital copy. With a physical copy if I don't like the game I can always trade it in but with a digital copy, I can play it now. Decisions Decisions.

I am "Patiently" waiting for the game to be available for pre-order in my country

I am also waiting for Dread to arrive on the 24th.

I have only played Metroid Zero Mission and Fusion (on which I am stuck on the gravity manipulating boss).

In my backlog I also have the GB Metroid 2 and Metroid Samus Returns (3DS). Too much Metroid, not enough time

@Rob3008 There's one section of the game about halfway through that can be annoyingly difficult due to the prolonged lack of a save point, but other than that, the game's really not too tough. Like @JaxonH said, it provides a very balanced challenge. It's not too tough to where you'll be fighting bosses over and over again; it's just enough to keep you on your toes at times.

@StarPoint Thanks for the feedback! Anyone know if the difficulty can be adjusted throughout the game or is it just one difficulty setting per save file?

Definitely getting an extra copy to keep sealed and display though, next to my other Metroid merch

I swear every time I see JaxonH's pics I think "I gotta re organize my collection..." .Ugh I suppose I'll put that last DETOLF case together....it's only been sitting in the middle of the floor for several months.

Oh man, dual stick with gyro on low sensitivity is just perfection. The controls feel nearly as second nature as they did on the Wii Trilogy release.

And wow, Phendrana is just beautiful. It’s simply just a nicer looking version of the original, with no compromises.

This whole remaster is just blowing my mind. As of now I literally have no complaints or issues, only very very positive things to say.

@StarPoint Wait, so gyro does work with the Pro controller? Gonna have to try that, thought I was going to have to use....ugh....Joycons. lol

@Joeynator3000 Yes indeed! It’s clunky to find, though. In-game, go to settings, then camera, then there should be a toggle to switch between standard stick control and an option with gyro support. I recommend turning the sensitivity wayyy down, though. It’s way too shaky on default settings for my taste.
