Mario Sunshine felt VERY tight compared to the slippery movement and broken physics of Mario 64 when I played it initially. It'll be interesting to see if it holds up for me.
Anyway, I just completed the Big House in the Sky mission in Mario 64, putting me up to 4 stars for that particular area. I'm... tired.
I started playing Sunshine, because I never finished it on the Gamecube (and don't own it any more), but the controls feel very finicky to me. It's almost as if the sensitivity is turned up too high, even though I usually prefer the camera and such to move as fast as possible. Even doing a triple jump is somehow harder for me to do, than it is in Galaxy/Odyssey (haven't played Galaxy yet in the 3D All Stars version though).
@status-204 As far as I can tell there's no (extra at least) input latency in Sunshine, though there is semi-noticeable audio latency on the sound effects for your inputs (check when Mario lands, it takes a slight moment for the sound of him landing to start). Maybe that's what's throwing you off?
Welp, I’ll finish up Sunshine later. I can’t do the ferocious red coins on the water, or the absolute luck based Chuckster level.
So now I’m on to Galaxy. All those pieces of music made me so nostalgic to the good old days of 2009, when I finally got a hold of the game and played that thing to hours on end.
Especially the observatory. It’s such a simple yet powerful tune. I love doing nothing and just listening to it at times.
I just got done with sunshine I have not 100% it yet like I said i'm playing all the games at the same time I might play sunshine now galaxy some time later and a little 64, but galaxy is the best game ever and I will all ways love it I played galaxy 2 as a little kid It made me love 3d platformers so getting to play the first game is just great, I never played the first game so seeing how its just the same game i'm loving it.

@Northwind I was going to save it for last but just could not wait so I said i'm going to play them all at the same time so I wont have to wait for any of them but been playing galaxy and sunshine the most.

@Northwind The point is... It's not always the game's fault we all play differently, but we're playing the same game. Some have trouble with one thing, others don't.

@Snatcher Actually, I'm not playing it in order at all. I played Sunshine first since it's been years since playing it, and dabbled a bit in Super Mario 64. Been playing Super Mario 64 on and off on the Wii U for the past few months.
Soon, I'm planning to play Galaxy for the very first time. I never had a chance to play this one, so that's going to be a new experience for me at least.
The resident Trolls superfan! Saw Trolls Band Together via early access and absolutely loved it!
@HobbitGamer I’m with Northwind on this one. I’m not bad at games, I know when it’s an unfair death. And Sunshine is full of them. You can’t just say to stop falling! Half the game is going over large gaps!
Is anyone else planning to 100% everything? I am. I’m halfway done in sunshine, but have loads to do in 64 and. I’m tackling Galaxy already, meaning I’m gonna leave the worst for last
