Are people counting the coin count to a person's skill? That only goes partially. Keep in mind first place doesn't lose coins for.. well.. losing, while everyone else does. I think you lose like half your coins if you die? While first place just GAINS a lot. Let's not forget you get even more if you happen to be able to score KOs which honestly could very much be random, getting KOs just requires more luck than skill.
So I wouldn't consider the coin count towards first place's skill level. Not entirely anyway. Unless they REALLY have a ton of it somehow.

I really enjoyed this game initially. Interest has severely waned, though.
I think the issue is the repetitive nature of it. While repeating levels is to be expected, I do 1-1 and 1-2 far too much. There's 32 levels and I don't see some of them very often, only when we're down to few players. I know it's likely programmed that way to not hit new players with 8-2 of 8-4 right off the bat, but I think the threshold is too high for when these levels start appearing. Have them start popping up more frequently when the counter hits the 20 mark, for example, so you get more variety in the levels.
I 'd love to see a 'winner' mode too. One that once you've won the regular mode adds Lost Levels to the mix to keep things a bit different.
I'm still playing, I have 3 levels to unlock and unlocked but not completed. The not completed level is 5-3, which I select every time I play but has never come up, I'm finishing in the top 5 almost half the time so i'm getting through a decent number of levels in each game - it's starting to get annoying!
Help! I can't download it and it's Mar10 day!
I go to the Online Membership area, go into Super Mario 35, tap Free Download and it goes to the eShop and just says Purchased with no option to download or open.
It's not listed in my Games and not showing in Re Download either.
Help please....I just want to play it before it's gone forever
@Tasuki That's not an explanation though. Yes, it was a limited time thing, so it was taken down because of that, but why was it a limited time thing? Why did it HAVE to be taken down?
@Tasuki I thought I was being clear but looking back I can see that I wasn't being very clear. Why was it a limited time thing? And because it was limited time is not an answer.
@pilot They made it for Mario's 35th anniversary. I remember reading an article on Nintendo Life where they said why they made certain games/products limited time, that was basically the reason they gave. An odd reason for sure, but it is what it is.
@pilot I was made a limited time thing to coincide with Mario's anniversy. Something special to celebrate his anniversary. Nintendo probably felt that it wouldn't have felt special if it wasn't a limited time thing.
