I love that nintendo puts out soundtracks, but I hate that they always are limited and bundled with the most expensive copy of the game. still need to get my hands on the breath of the wild soundtrack and Mario Kart 8

The lack of the annoying item switch and the lack of screen scrolling is a GAME CHANGER! I might consider picking this up, even though I don't usually enjoy 2D Zelda games as much.
Currently Playing: Steamworld Heist, The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask, Tales of Graces F
It’s probably fan music and you were all gnomed into giving the videos views.
xD Yeah it totally doesn't sound like there's a 50+ man orchestra behind this. I do hope you were joking kid. This is the The Legend of Zelda: Symphony of the Goddesses orchestra. It's right there in the desciption. These remastered compositions are by Chad Seiter and Jeron Moore. Symphony of the Goddesses is also responsible for the Skyward Sword's OST. So yes, their music does make it into the actual games.
But considering the cute artstyle of the remastered Link's Awakening I think it's more likely they make a whole new OST.
Anyway Nintendo is understandably very keen on taking any video down showing the latest Symphony of the Goddesses tour. So enjoy it while you can and thank me later.

Does anyone know why would Yoshi's egg be on top of the volcano in the title screen?
Btw if it's a story related spoiler then please don't tell me.
Because somewhere high in the sky there's a floating island called Final Destination and this egg is really just Rildey after Yoshi used neutral B on him while off the stage.

This game is beautiful. Definitely prefer this game's aesthetics to BOTW. I wonder how Nintendo will handle the Game Boy Printer pictures.
I loved those pictures! I always wondered if the wind fish was at least kind enough to let Link keep the pictures so he could make a vacation scrapbook
Link's Awakening DX was the first Zelda I played on the original hardware. I kept borrowing that GBC from a friend, lol. I wanted to buy it from him, but I didn't have the money.
The art style is cute, though maybe it looks a bit too polished or too plastic. I'm not sure Link's cap should be shiny like that. I generally like the look, but my GF, whose first exposure to Zelda was Breath of the Wild, lamented that they turned Link into a FunkoPop. I thought she'd like the look...
I've seen some people compare this to Oceanhorn and compared to this the new Zelda does look a little barren. I actually don't buy the "claymation" argument; claymations are pretty detailed. Claymation or stop-motion look is more about the framerate than shapes, as evidenced by LEGO Movies (you'd swear they were not CGI due to rendering in low framerate and amount of detail).
A modern stop-motion animation looks like this:
(if it doesn't load, it's a screenshot from "Kubo and the Two Strings").
Any one that is disappointed they made the new version cute...hasn't played the original Gameboy game.
I honestly don't think this style of gameplay would work super well with an edgy realistic style anyway, the chibi short characters complement the tile based environment much better, and look more natural in it.
Changing the art direction to something more "realistic" would require a major reimagining of the game and its mechanics... Or you could have a Bomberman act zero situation in your hands.
I totally agree that art style isn't just about the aesthetics, it changes the game mechanics completely ( or vice versa). And aesthetics should always be subservient to game design.
@SmaggTheSmug@Tsurii I think people are quick to compare it with stop-motion or claymation because of how it looks. It's as if you're looking at someone's toy collection coming to life; and there are a few tricks they're using, but it's definitely not stop-motion.
They are using a very simple art-style, very toy-like in itself. Most objects look plastic-y because of the sheen; Additionally, a strong shadow-light border gives the suggestion that the light source is very strong and nearby, like you would expect if you had a desk lamp illuminating your legos for example. The top-down camera and resulting low FOV also help to create the illusion. Lastly, and most importantly, is what seems to be a kind of tilt-shift. I'm not sure if that term can be applied to 3D renders, but there's definitely a lot of blurring going on in the background. It's the same affect you get when you're really close to something, your focal point becomes very small and everything else turns blurry. This effect definitely gives it the illusion that you're very close looking at a miniature set. Tilt-shift is also used a lot in photography, and it can turn any everyday scene into something that looks like it was part of a miniature set:

Yes. Despite not initially liking the art style, I did notice is suits this purpose quite well. It will save them a lot of time from redesigning the world in a way that looks good and still works for gameplay.
