gotta say i have had no problems and cant fault the joy-cons , the pro controller is great too .. loving using that when the switch is on its kick stand ! great when the wife is watching tv
Joy con will constantly act up even 5 feet away, not behind my back. It's a hassle. Pro controller is perfect, and works like every other controller should work whether behind my head or behind a body , unlike the joycon
The only problems I've had with the joy cons was with multiplayer Bomberman and not realising at first you had to calibrate them with the Switch for horizontal play!! Cue frustration for 10 minutes wondering what was going on.
I agree with others though that the joy con straps are not only stiff to put on, but getting them off is something else indeed. The pro controller is nice and comfy I can see myself using this most of the time when the Switch is docked.
I was also wondering about if the Pro Controller will be able to charge the Switch and also how long is the charging cable that comes with the controller.
Might be a dumb question, but how do I change the controller style? When I take the joy cons off and hand one to a friend, it still thinks I'm playing with both joy cons (one in each hand). How do I tell my console I'm trying to play a multiplayer game?
It's incredibly annoying for me. Playing Breath of the Wild, the left joy-con became unresponsive on numerous occasions and completely disconnected once. So I've given up on those and now play using the Pro Controller.
If someone didn't know this i'll post it right here: joy-cons don't charge when attached to the docked Switch if the console is off or in sleep mode. They can charge only if attached to the docked Switch with system turned on or with a charging grip
Not having any problems with my Joy-Con either. But I have to say once I picked up a Pro controller it is so much more comfortable, definitely my weapon of choice. The Joy-Con are great innovations and work well for handheld controls, but the Pro is a great controller, period.

Remind yourself that overconfidence is a slow and insidious killer.
Anyone unintentionally crouching during Zelda? During stressful encounters (boss battles, etc) I'm putting too much pressure on the joy con L stick (in grip) to move link and crouching without meaning to. Notice this less with handheld mode but wondering whether the larger layout of the pro controller would help me? Anyone advise? Probably just a quirk of mine.

Yeah, I've done this on a few occasions. I've also hit the HOME button accidentally a couple of times; I wish that had been recessed or took a little more effort to press.
@concra yes and i also have the tendency to pull that damn tablet camera out to mark the screen, essentially when i get to bosses if i dont have the pro controller i put the system to sleep if i do i pull it out and put the system on its kickstand.
I have the pro controller and when using the anolog sticks to type on the on-screen keyboard, when I flick either anolog stick to select a letter, the box which highlights the selected letter moves to what I select then back to the previous letter. Heck, even on the home screen when selecting a game or the icons to launch eshop, album etc, it does the same on there, I keep tapping left very quickly on either anolog stick and sometimes it'll jump right, keep tapping up and it'll move down, it's the same in all 4 directions, this doesn't happen at all when using the Joy-Cons though.
It's the same in Zelda, I keep tapping forward and Link will move forward a little then move back a little facing the other way...Hmm. Faulty Pro controller or normal?
Like many of you, my wallet has taken a bit of a beating this month (!) ..so I decided to go for the cheaper Charging Grip over the Pro Controller - and I have to say that I'm pleasantly surprised with how good it feels!
I'll certainly get myself a Pro eventually - the D-Pad should make for a better experience playing 2D games & the right thumb stick looks to be in a naturally more comfortable position for general play ..the battery life is extremely impressive too compared to controllers on other platforms - sure, it's a touch more expensive than a DualShock 4 or the Xbox equivalent, but the battery on my PS4's controller is so, so poor in comparison (it's essentially a wired controller with occasional wireless capabilities!) ..it's worth shelling out the extra yen for a good battery as far as I'm concerned!
1. my right joy-con is slightly looser than my left. it's not noticeable unless i purposely wiggle them but now that i know about it my OCD brain can't stop thinking about it. does anyone else have a similar situation?
2. at the top of the console/tablet, to the left of the vent and just to the right of the volume buttons, the seam between the back plate and the front of the console is not 100% flush. it VERY slightly sticks out. now with the rest of the system, everywhere the front and back parts meet seamlessly. it's just that one part where i can fit my fingernail in between the two. once again, anyone else notice this?
now both of these issues are not really issues at all. but like i said above, the OCD in me just can't let it go. i want the thing to be 100% perfect.

Number 1, both Joy-Con analog sticks seem to feel the same, maybe the left analog has ever so slightly less resistance then the right, but analog sticks loosen with age anyways so this is a non-issue for me.
Number 2, mine is the same, on the right of where it says 'VOLUME' on the Switch, it's a tiny hairline gap on the top of the Switch, almost like another screw should have been used to tighten that area. I never even noticed it before but it seems normal to me.
Anyone have the same issue as me with the Pro controller? It's the same with both analog sticks, if I quickly press forward and let go, as the analog resets back into position, it makes my character move the other way. So when I tap forward and let go, my character goes forwards then backwards. Tried to return my Pro controller to Argos yesterday but they had sold out, the lady working there says they've had alot returned because of this issue, wondering if it's a design flaw of the controller the fact it happens with both analog sticks.
