what are the most difficult bosses you have encountered on your gaming journey? Here’s the thread to say your thoughts, opinions, and more on Nintendo’s bosses.
the hardest for me are Ganondorf (TOTK) and probably Z from Xenoblade Chronicles 3. Clem from LM3 was hard too 🙂
Updated to include levels/areas, man the desert temple in totk was difficult and chapter 6 in portal 2 is so hard 😭

To this day, I still have not beaten Inner Agent 3. My hands get too shaky during the final phase...

Listen the final boss of Mario and Luigi Bowsers Inside story is hard, so hard that I haven't beat it since I got it in 2016...

Space and Games are similar. Space is endless and new stuff is out there waiting to be discovered. Games are always being made but the creativity is different from one game to another and so many more ideas still haven't been imagined or created yet. (That came out better than expected lol)

It's a shame Rare doesn't count as Nintendo anymore (y'know, beyond actual Nintendo IPs) because I could've just said the final boss of Jet Force Gemini and not need to think about it.

Honestly the first time you fight a Lynel in BOTW is a really strong choice. There's a reason arguably the only story mission based around it is just about collecting things while avoiding it. I beat Metroid Prime 2 on hard without even getting every upgrade once, so that's another really good choice. And Metroid Dread also has a pretty challenging final boss that I'm sure is relentless on higher difficulties too.

Oh right, the secret optional boss in the Splatoon 2 Octo Expansion. I don't think I ever beat it even, that one was...ridiculous. I think that might be it for me.

Thunderbird in Zelda 2 is an exercise in frustration. Go in blind and you'll be lucky to even score a single hit.

Kaptain K Rool in DKC2. Particularly the third stage of the fight when he starts launching projectiles that either slow you down, or reverse the directions on the d-pad.

I hate to tell you this, I found that boss fairly easy. Honestly much easier than the previous two final bosses.

@kkslider5552000 Yeah, ugh...I don't even think I'd say Partners in Time's final boss was that hard, it just felt like it took...FREAKIN' FOREVER. lol
Probably the same with dream Team, too...freakin' Bowser kept healing himself, lol

As for me...

Metroid Prime - Omega Pirate: This is a weird one, in the original version he was a pain because of the hazard sensor not working correctly and I constantly stepped into the Phazon. This was fixed in Trilogy and he became easy...and then, for some bizarre reason, it was still fixed in the Remastered version, but I still ended up having trouble fighting him. lol Yes I know you can cheese the fight with Power Bombs, but what's the fun in cheesing stuff? xD

Metroid Prime 2 (original version) - Boost Guardian: Everyone who has played this game on the Cube, knows exactly why they dread this boss.

Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword - Demise: Never got to him on the Switch, no idea why, kinda stopped. But on the original version, when you have to do that required attack to end the fight...the damn game wouldn't freakin' register my attack. It was a pain in the butt! lol

Paper Mario TTYD - Shadow Queen and Bonetail: Final boss is probably not that bad anymore, but back then she was a nightmare for me. Bonetail, just getting to him was a nightmare to begin with. lol

Earthbound - Too many of them, lol: ...Shrooooom, Diamond Dog, that stupid chibi robot thing with the missiles, I hate all of them. xD

Oh yeah, Kirby Planet Robobot, the only boss I haven't been able to beat in a Kirby game yet...Star Dream OS Soul...so many freakin' phases...I think I actually made it to the very end once and of course I screwed up during that final shockwave moment. x_x

I think the True Arena bosses are cheating, because its not just difficulty, its also trying to tolerate having to repeat everything before them.

Same thing with Dark Souls, I dunno how hard the bosses are because the biggest problem isn't their challenge, its the tedium of fighting the easy enemies to get back to them.

Man, on the topic of TTYD, I agree that SQ and Bonetail are brutal, but if I can have a two-for-one, Grodus right into Bowser with no opportunity to restore between really had me stuck for a while when I was a kid

Not sure if it counts as a 'boss', but some of the hardest tera raids in Pokemon S/V. Those 7* raids usually destroy me over and over and when I can beat them it's a struggle.

@kkslider5552000 I dunno...sometimes I can make it to the final boss in the True arena and they'll still kick my butt, and Star Dream OS Soul was one of them. I guess Magalor Soul is another one, in the Switch version because holy crap. lol He isn't as bad, but some of his new attacks caught me off guard the first time like the double beam attack he does right at the start.

@Croctopus oh yeah, Tabuu got me good. I was a super casual who didn’t even know how to dodge until that fight forced me to learn lol

Still gives a problem to this day. One that I was never able to beat was Joker on Batman for the NES. Would get up to him just to lose against him.

Another one that I have never beat was Mike Tyson/Mr. Dream in Punch-Out!!

This is the correct answer. One day I'll study some strategy wikis for the easiest way to do it, maybe some YouTube videos too if I get too frustrated and desperate, just to finally do it.

WoomyNNYes

I did't' beat the Splatoon 2 Octo Expansion hard boss (inner agent) until a year after Octo Expansion's release.😆 Every 1-2 months, I'd make serious attempts at the boss.

A big part of why Mike Tyson/Mr. Dream is so difficult to beat is that you need absurdly good reaction times on his tells, and that modern displays introduce at least a tiny bit of latency on top of what original hardware and TV sets had.

The majority of newcomers to NES Punch Out experience it through some form of emulation, whether that's through an official Nintendo offering on GameCube, 3DS, Wii, Switch, etc.
Emulation itself can introduce a bit of latency, but I'm not sure if this applies to handhelds like 3DS and Switch that have a direct and standardised interface to their respective displays.
This latency issue is a big part of why FPGA solutions are so popular, it helps to eliminate the latency issue even on modern displays.
