Topic: E3 2021 Discussion Thread

If we get any video games revealed I will not be disappointed. It’s less that I have low expectations, and more that I have almost no expectations, as I pretty much forgot E3 was a thing for the longest time. It’s come as something of a surprise this year. So if there’s literally anything that looks vaguely entertaining I’ll be pleasantly amused.

Realistically I’m just hoping for one first party announcement we haven’t seen before that’s not a port. If it doesn’t happen I won’t be too upset, but it would be exciting. @Maxz

Omg I'm so happy, best Direct ever.

Very excited for the Mario Party and Monkey Ball games (though they both feel like admissions the old games were better!) as well as Wario Ware. I'm not a big fan of BOTW or 2D Metroid.

Very disappointed by the lack of a Donkey Kong game, virtual console or Animal Crossing updates... Expected to see some of these. :-/

I dunno about you guys, but I'm pretty happy about this. Honestly this Direct might've been made for me.

on a smaller note though, I feel like I heard Cruisn was back but just never thought much about it until now. Those games were really fun, in their own weird way.

One thing: METROID DREAD!!! It exists! It looks pretty sweet. I wonder if this is made by Mercury steam.

For the rest it wasn't that bad. A new Warioware, Advance wars (though that's a remake) and Zelda sneakpeak. But sadly it was just a sneakpeak and it will be a 2022 game. At this point I just expect a completely new overworld. Or one that is severely remixed.

Oh, and still no Bayonetta trololol.

Oh, and Mario+Rabbids. But we knew that a few days back.

I love how Metroid Dread references the cancelled Metroid game of the same name.

Okay, not a fan of Tekken, so once again, a character I don't care about getting in Smash. Despite that, I liked Nintendo's E3. A new Mario Party game that I actually want, Metroid Dread (after being hinted at so long ago during the Wii era, lol) finally coming, Advance Wars...

Also not a fan of horror games, but I said I would give Fatal Frame a try if it ever came to switch....welp....lol

Great direct. I can't wait for Metroid & Fatal Frame, and Super Monkey Ball & SMTV look cool too (I just hope the series' perceived difficulty doesn't push me away).

@Joeynator3000 I'm also not a fan of Tekken, but still so cool to see Street Fighter and Tekken cross over outside of a jank 360 game.

Seriously... that was exciting and underwhelming all at once. Advance Wars Reboot is GREAT. But oh my that Zelda game and watch... WHAT a letdown. Was hoping for more games like Link's Awakening...

Solid direct, much better than I was expecting! Was more in that 40 minutes that I'm interested in than the previous 4 days combined lol. Well beyond my expectations.

Ok I thought that was pretty damn good overall.

I usually consider these presentations a success if there are 2 games I REALLY want to play (and a few I'm mildly interested in).

This time I got 3 games. Metroid, Advance Wars and Zelda.

8/10. Slightly better than Xbox's show. The fact that the Zelda sequel looks amazing pushes it slightly ahead of Xbox.

Alright, that was a strong presentation by Nintendo.

Still not as good as MS's, imo.

But if anyone insisted that Nintendo "won" E3, I wouldn't argue.

I can't really add more than that. I kinda thought about a Zelda Anniversary Collection but seeing the heights BotW 2 has soared to... I don't care about that.
