Topic: E3 2021 Discussion Thread

I was hoping Capcom would announce some new games like Street Fighter 6 and was hoping they’d put a modern Street Fighter on Switch like SF IV...but nothing..seems I always get my hopes up only to be disappointed.

Well overall it's been a fairly lame E3 so far. Xbox was the only good show really, and even then we didn't see too much material from any of their biggest games (I've noticed they've since shown a lot more Halo multiplayer footage, so that's good).

Nintendo could easily outdo that though. Frankly if they just show 2 new big games (Bayo 3 and Botw2 perhaps), I would consider them the "winner".

@HotGoomba PlayStation released that trailer on YouTube and I’m convinced it’s just for the memes. Can’t wait to tell my kids I was there when that joke came about.

Not mad at capcom personally as they talked about games I own/have preordered (except RE/BH but I always ignore that series), and I may watch the pro tour since I've not had any time to put into SFV. That being said I really am ready for Nintendo to rock out.

@Ryu_Niiyama @Slowdive Cautiously optimistic is my mind frame right now. Seeing the competition so weak has given Nintendo the opportunity to go big. But this was a pre-recorded Direct so it’s not like they can change their minds now.

Strange statement - is that not the point of E3?

Microsoft led with starfield specifically to show something new then had a smattering of these through the presentation- forza 5, red fall reveal, Diablo 2 release date, outer worlds 2 etc...

@Slowdive Perhaps… but Alanah Pearce’s tweet felt, exclusively to me at least, completely unnecessary. Almost a perfect response to my own comment. It kinda ruins the element of surprise when one tells you that there’s a good time waiting for the rational.

Doesn’t change my excitement, it hits another gear with Nintendo Directs.

Alright so I’m about to get my second shot. In the event I don’t wake up in time for the Direct I will blackout the Internet until I am able to watch it. Meaning that if I don’t see the Direct I won’t be able to respond to any outstanding replies to me until… I do. Catch ya later, or tomorrow!

Well, they were keen to emphasize it wouldn't be ALL, @VIIIAxel .... & it's taken long enough! I'm glad HZD came, I liked that, so I'm looking forward to getting Forbidden West in a few years

Yeah, that's the point, but she's likely making sure that nobody expects a Chibi-Robo game.

This E3 has been so bad that I want to re-evaluate Nintendo's 2015 E3.

Which to be fair, I like Star Fox Zero and REALLY like Happy Home Designer so I'd already be on the kinder end of that in the first place. But still, the bar has been set so low.

I can understand partly the interest in leaks and stuff when it's several months out, or a year out.

I don't understand AT ALL, leaking something that's happening later that day. Like just......wait a day

@Slowdive So excited for both presentations, from Bandai Namco and Nintendo.

I saved my sleeping for this afternoon lol…. This ambassador excitement package is making me wonder again just what the Hell they have waiting to show.

Well so far the highlights are Guardians of the Galaxy and River City Girls 2.

Hoping nintendo comes to party, although traditionally their E3s are a bit middle of the road.

I don’t think Nintendo sending out them “excitement packs and hoodies” to certain content creators ahead of E3 is going to go down well. If their Direct doesn’t live up to what people now hyping themselves up, it’s gonna be that much worse. The box even says to break open in case of excitement.

@TheJGG the “ambassador excitement package” is just standard practice, I wouldn’t read too much into it.

Send rubbish to influencers like big boobed twitch players, people who read news headlines and give their hot takes without investigation, instagram accounts for people who post pictures of their breakfast etc so they will talk about it on their social media. Its a way of maximising exposure regardless of what the exposure actually is.

It’s a sad statement of evolution that people who take pictures of food are celebrated in society.
