@NEStalgia that “bad place to go” is absolutely the right way! After you get off the elevator and walk down the little staircase there you’ll be looking out across the New Londo Ruins - there’ll be a lot of hollows (the rubbish enemies you can kill in 2 hits that don’t fight back) lying/standing around.
Facing the ruins on that first area, walk slowly across to the right hand side (the opposite way the path/game suggests you should go) and you should find a staircase down the cliff (sneakily designed) - he’s on this staircase in a cell. Be aware that unless you go the other way and cross the bridge, nothing in that initial area will attack you (until much later in the game) so you can relax whilst you look around!
@Spoony_Tech Well done! Take your time in Sen’s - it can be pretty overwhelming/daunting first time out. My best advice is to be super vigilant and to keep both your eyes and ears open here more than anywhere
Played this for the first time ever last night and loved it. Its been years since I played anything like this and it was a nice change. Still at the confused stage over the wealth of options and upgrades but happy to figure it out as I go along. Enjoyed this so much Diablo 3 has now become a future purchase as this will keep me going for a while. Even better, I can grab my Switch and continue playing on my way to work later 😁
You're supposed to turn around after ringing the bell and go back up. There's no other way out if you continue going down. You unlock a way of transporting later on though. That's when you should go down into the fire place.
@Spoony_Tech you can still kill that boss for souls and you should see some familiar faces don't try to progress the area further.
P. S. That boss has a really easy exploit but it ruins the fun
If anyone hates the poison swamp at the bottom of Blighttown, the best approach is to get the poisonbite ring from Oswald (where you fought the bell gargoyles) and then the Rusted Iron Ring from the Undead Asylum.
Those 2 in combination make it far more bearable.
@leoes12 All I remember was the word gold in the set. That could've been it. It was the set behind the ceaseless discharge so I probably won't even be needing it much more.
Also I can't seem to find my way back, am I missing a shortcut back to firelink or do I need to work my way back the way I came?

If I was only ever able to have Monster Hunter and EO games in the future, I would be a happy man.
My wife just bought me this game as a surprise present. Can’t wait to get into this as I’ve never played it before. Downloading atm. Any advice for a noob? (No spoilers please)
they say that life’s a carousel, spinning fast you’ve got to ride it well. The world is full of kings and queens who blind your eyes and steal your dreams. It’s heaven and hell.
