Treehouse Day 1: I wish they'd let us know a bit more about Daemon X Machina
Treehouse Day 2: Still no Daemon X Machina?
Treehouse Day 3 (leaving work just before they show the game): Maybe they didn't have it ready for presentation?
Next day, visiting Nintendo's YouTube channel: Finally, gameplay footage!
I'm definitely interested in this right now, especially after watching the gameplay footage. Can't wait to hear more details in the future.
I've watched the trailer a few times now and it just keeps getting better each time. It's kind of a dream game, one of those games you imagine in your mind that never get made. Huge mechs, huge explosions, ground and air combat, large worlds with 360 movement, incredible stylised graphics, online multiplayer huge mech battles, again with huge explosions. All that and it's being made by a collection of devs with by far the most experience in the genre and it has the financial backing of Nintendo.
Definitely the surprise of the show for me (including all devs). Sure, there are other games I want more, but this game just came out of nowhere and looks great. I love mech-combat games, but it seems like they're always held back by secondary-project funding. I hope this one gets the money and the dev cycle it deserves.
Over the last few days, I've seen quite a few people wondering how the gameplay will be, so I'm assuming (for now) that they have apparently not seen the E3 2018 Treehouse session, in which the game was played, and part of the team behind it was interviewed, so I'll just post that video right here for the people that might be interested:
Gamescom footage demonstrating the player's abilities outside the mech and more. DXM is really shaping up to be a more action-oriented XCX and is easily one of my most anticipated games.
@BigMac1204 I would imagine it is compared to the PC mech games, but I really have no idea being a noob to them like yourself! Something about this has really got my attention and it's one of the games I'm most looking forward to for 2019.
@BigMac1204 usually if Nintendo does something kinda for the first time, it's quite noob proof. The complaints are more often that the games are too simple. So I think it's fair to say that you can expect this to be approachable for new players at the least.
