About to start isle 3. I think the only thing that should've been implemented in the game is for single player , a parry should give health back. Love the game so much but there's times where I play 1 boss for 45 min or so. Basically i try not to get hit until the bosses final phase so as soon as I get hit in phase 1 or 2, i just retry the level knowing i won't make it that much rather on 2 or 1 hits left. Am I entitled? Eh maybe .. and ive only played on regular, not easy so maybe easy let's you get health back with a parry, not sure..

I'm about 12 to 14 hours in and still stuck on the devil. Played for an hour and a half so far and can't beat him. Games a lot harder than i thought it would be. The only thing going for it as that there isn't real load times after you die. Or it would've killed the experience for me. Kudos to everyone who finishes this game in under 5 hours. Playing on regular, I can't believe it's possible but maybe I just suck lol

Whew, recently beat King Dice. Seems like the best loadout for him and the minibosses is: The green weapon that follows the enemy, this is good against Dice himself and some of the minis(such as the stack of poker chips and the 8-Ball, when you have to dodge their attacks). It's also good to keep hammering Dice with it when you're parrying off his cards.

Second weapon is the orange charge shot. The mini bosses have pretty low health to begin with and this just makes it easier. The trifecta of drinks go down really quick for ex. Also good to hit Dice with the charge shots in between his card sequence.

As for the charm, I went with the extra heart. Damage decrease didn't really matter and the more hearts you can save up for Dice the better.

@NintendoByNature I doubt you sucking is the issue. Satan is pretty hard. When I first played it, I stayed up all night trying to beat the SOB.

@KryptoniteKrunch Extra health is great for a first playthrough. If you're going for S-ranks on Expert difficulty, though, those charms are a no-go, because the real challenge there is to beat the bosses quickly enough, and reduced damage just makes the entire fight last longer.

@NintendoByNature Congrats. Satan is a toughie. I can't tell you how many times I died on that stupid crying phase of his.

@Ralizah thanks! I know the 1st phase was fairly easy, Not a total breeze but not bad. It was the 2nd and last phase that were almost impossible. I was considering firing up Celeste again but after that rough of a time it might be best I play some yoshi 😅

Sorry if answered, but is this coming out on physical anytime soon? If it's a long way out I'll just go digital, but curious.

Any news on a physical release date or a physical pre order date. All I know is that it’s planned to be released soon after the new dlc is released. It’ll be a day 1 purchase for me just for the art style. An absolute must for my collection.

@DenDen It looks stunning I’m mainly into AAA games or what I perceive to be. This is definitely something special what with the art and music. Something as good as this must be added to the collection I don’t think I’ve ever seen a game like it. I’m not one for the hype train but this looks beautiful. Can’t wait to get it.

Just bought this in the sale and I'm mortified, spent 20 mins in the tutorial and I still can't master the high jump after the parry slap bit off to google/YouTube for answers...

@3dg3d3m0n Dean Takahashi, is that you?!

I kid, but I believe it tells you right in the tutorial to hold the jump button to pull off a high jump, yes? What's confusing you?

I figured it out in the end - a high jump needs both a long B press and the dash at the top of the jump.

On World 3 and finding the game runs perfectly for a bit, but then will drop frame rate consistently and even seem to slowdown. A retry usually fixes for a bit, but then it happens again.

Clearly not the locked 60fps most of the reviews mention, so just wondering if other players are experiencing this too?

For the record, this happens both docked and handheld, and I’m on a 1st gen Switch. Other 60fps games run fine.

@sutotsu
Sounds perhaps like a cache issue. This has been shown to affect other games as well (I think even BotW?). Try completely shutting down the Switch (not just suspend/sleep or whatever).

I think I tried that once - didn’t seem to work for long though maybe it did help a bit. Will try again.

So, not happening for other people?
