I don’t fully agree, or to word it better. It wasn’t even the fact that we could see the twist a mile away, trying to capture a “would you kindly moment” again was 100% impossible in my opinion. The twist in Bioshock 1 was that epic it simply could not have been done ever again, plain and simple. Lol.

And Yup, yours truly, Jordan Thomas (lead of Bioshock 2) is reportedly the lead for Bioshock 4. He worked on every game in the franchise but only had the lead role for Bioshock 2 until now again for Bioshock 4 if it’s legit news. @MsJubilee

There are some similarities I guess, but this still feels kinda like saying Paper Mario is an Earthbound ripoff, because both are comedy RPGs.

Bioshock 2 was the worst one in my opinion. I absolutely love Bioshock 1 and Infinite.

The only good part of Bioshock 2 was when you get to play as a little sister and see how they see the world.

It was the scripted COD like set pieces that ticked me off. Especially in the beginning, the game had you kill dozens of policemen without a care in the world. It was immersion-breaking(well to me).

@CTmatic To put it simply, the twist was lighting in a bottle. Nothing can recapture that moment.

The Harder the conflict, the more glorious the triumph. When the going gets tough, the tough gets going.

I'm currently playing Watch Dogs 2 & Manhunt

Lightning in a bottle. Just like I already said. Takes A bow. Just teasing. Kinda. @MsJubilee

Bioshock Collection coming to the Switch just makes me wish for that Dead Space Collection even more

Yeah getting a Dead Space collection would be epic, but that will never happen ever for two reasons in my opinion.

1) We never even got a remastered collection on PS4/Xbox One where EA actually makes their games.

2) EA does not exist for Switch aside from FIFA. 🤷‍♂️ @MuhBael

I really hope 2K announces this Bioshock rumor soon!

Well, apart from FIFA 18/19/20 they also published Unravel Two and Fe on Switch.

I'm waiting for a proper Dead Space game since Dead Space Extraction for Wii.
It is one of the best on-rail-shooters, since, like, ever (apart from a few weird bugs).

@Zuljaras
are they ?
cause the story i saw in bioshock 1 was an unfocused mess with the characters behaving utterly bizarre
the player had no involvement in the story it was just parroted to you
and the big reveals quite frankly made no sense what so ever

its graphics were okay but the gameplay and story were sub par

i am pretty sure i am in the minority on that opinion though

KitsuneNight

Zuljaras

@KitsuneNight Well I loved that the players character has no big role in the story because I wanted to focus on the world of Rapture.

And Infinite explained and wrapped the whole story of the games perfectly.

And yes you are probably in the minority

judaspete

@MsJubilee I'm with you on Bioshock 2. Gameplay is much improved over the first. Story might not be quite as good as the first, but I still find it intriguing. Being about the dangers of collectivism taken to far compliments the first games comentary on hyperindividualism well. Taken together, the lesson of the two games is blind allegiance to any ideology will lead to bad sh*t.

And Sofia Lamb is just as good a villian as Andrew Ryan.

Bioshock Collection is one of the included games on PS+ this month. The first game was great but I’m looking forward to playing Infinite for the first time.

I will post my thoughts from the duplicate thread here since this is the original thread. I am probably going to pass this one on the Switch since I own it on PS4 and Xbox One. For those who have never played these game or don't have the other consoles it's a must have. Hopefully this will get enough sales and it will make 2K bring other series to the Switch like Mafia.

Yeah, @Tasuki, I've been waiting a long time to finally play Bioshock, since I skipped the PS3, PS4 generations. I don't play Animal Crossing. So I was planning on Bioshock and Outer Worlds this spring & early summer. I'm crossing my fingers the Bioshock port will have acceptable performance. I'm on the more forgiving side of performance expectations.

@WoomyNNYes Yeah I played the Bioshock games several times first on the 360 then on the PS4/Xbox One. Infinite is my favorite of the 3 although one was good as well. 2 felt like it should have been DLC for the first game at least to me. Nothing wrong with it just not as good as the first IMO.

This is a series that I've always been interested in, but I never owned the platforms it was on. Glad that it's coming to the Switch even if the physical release seems pointless.

Currently playing: Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story + Bowser Jr's Journey, Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana (Switch)

It's great more people get to experience these games. The first and third games are my favourites. The 2nd one just felt like it was treading water in terms of the story. The bit where you play as the little sister was cool though. The settings of Columbia and Rapture are really unique.

In terms of story the original Bioshock was really cool for the time; slight twist on what you expected in most games. The gameplay, though, is my favorite part. Silky-smooth FPS but not a shoot-em-up, per say. The powers are fun to mess with even though they're not in the most flexible forms in the first game. And of course the setting keeps you interested from start to finish. Definitely a "must have" for most players. Don't let the FPS veneer scare you off if those games typically aren't your thing.

Tasuki

@rallydefault You don't even have to play it as a FPS. I have seen online people playing it using melee weapons and just the powers. I have seen people just sneaking around and using stealth to play it as well and using traps and such to kill things. One thing that makes this game unique is the option to for so many play styles that can be used to play the game, you just don't have to go around shooting things.

I haven’t been this excited for the next 24hrs to pass in years. 😀😀😀

The Bioshock franchise is my all time favorite, and this was my most dreamed #1 Switch port I could have asked for. It’s the only franchise I will double-dip in. Got it for PS4 to, but I’m on Switch more these days with our 2 little kiddos.

I’m literally listening to the soundtrack music while working at home now getting more and more amped up. Yeah I know, I’m a nerd. I’ve beat Bioshock 1 over 75 times, Bioshock 2 over 50 times, and Infinite just twice. So I’m as much as a hardcore diehard as the next in this franchise. 🍻
