I'm pretty sure we will not see the game until April 11th at the very least. Same day as other platforms or later, it's not gonna happen before

Yea, I was trying to get a pulse on that. I'm not a backer, but I'm gonna be honest... I'm not super impressed from the images and gameplay they've been showing off lately. But I could totally be missing something, and I'm a firm believer in not being able to judge a game until you actually get a chance to play it.

So it'll definitely be a "wait for reviews" game for me, but I really want to see it be good. It's been so long since I played a good collect-a-thon 3D platformer.

I doubt we'll see the game on March 3rd. They'll release it either with the rest of the platforms on April or later.
They aren't going to risk pissing off the PS/X1 fanbases.

At least we know this is going to come someday to the Switch. Now, to wait for Bloodstained...

If Nintendo was smart they would do everything in their power to make March the 3rd happen. It would really benefit both but I doubt Nintendo cares. They don't want anything to overshadow Zelda. I think if they had launched with the system they could put some amazing sales day one.

Yeah I know this isn't going to happen either.

Don't get me wrong but Yooka Laylee isn't a huge system seller, so I'm not sure why I keep seeing people talking about how Ninty should of made sure this was a day one release, even ahead of completing the unfinished game.

It will have an audience who will come out for it but the way people are talking about Yooka you'd think it's gonna match Destiny's pre-order sales.

@jump I don't necessarily think it will move systems but it would be a majority of peoples second game sales. After Zelda this game would go nicely as anybody's second game.

Say Nintendo sells 3 million Switch's till the end of the month, can't see why Yooka can see 1 million of those if marketed right. Now would be the time to push something like this and definitely not after E3 as the Mario push will begin.

I know this is not going to happen, just think it would be in Nintendo's best interest and even Playtonic's best interest.

Given how there's very little depth in the launch day titles anything semi-decent could sell well and besides that Team 17 are the publishers, not Nintendo so I don't see why multiple people keep demanding Nintendo make this a launch day game and promote it.

I made my decision, decided to go for XB1 digital. If I get a Switch maybe I'll double dip but given a lot about the Switch is very unclear, getting a Switch at launch is far from guaranteed.

@Grumblevolcano Though I am getting the Switch at launch, I can understand your concerns. But I won't be getting this game anytime soon. I just saw what they are asking for it here in the UK and there is no way it's ever going to be worth that price. I'll wait till its on sale before I decide.

@G0dlike It's £34.99 which to me is more than I am willing to pay for such a game. Though this is from a person who does often wait till most games reduce in price aside from Nintendo first party, so take what I say as an opinion.

@FragRed They for the most part use to do full retail games in their hayday. I have little doubt this game is full retail price good as I've seen enough from them in the past. There's a reason why people have been crying for a new. Banjo game for years. This is as close as we will ever get and this game is one of the few must have games for me next year. Dare I say GotY worthy?

Oh and Rare made the N64 the system it is today. Imo they made games just as good if not better then Nintendo did. A lot of the original Rare team made Yooka!

Have I gone mad or am I seeing the same people who complained this should be a retail release then complain it costs too much for a retail game, even though it costs less than the typical game?

Sorry to rain on the parade, but I checked out some new footage of this game the other day and I'm still finding the sound design very off-putting, just so many annoying sounds. The sounds they use when a character is speaking is intolerable.

From what I hear, the general reaction to that footage wasn't entirely positive.

The funny thing is that the dodgy sounds is completely inline with the N64 nostalgia the game is offering.

I've updated my survey for the Switch version, I may as well wait and give myself something extra to play on it.

That's fair enough! I backed it on kickstarter at £35 so was just curious. But I suppose I get DLC for free as well as a digital soundtrack and art book!!@FragRed

Well, that's a bizarre direction to take with it, if you ask me. It's not a game I could consider buying with that noise so prominent. If people wanted that nostalgia that much, just get Rare Replay.

Or finally 100% complete those old Rare games, so many banana coins...
