I think they may announce the release date for the Switch version on the 12th. With the statement they made and the considering the studio is made of old Rare staff, I wouldn't be surprised they have a Switch devkit. If other indies have it, why wouldn't they?

What's the deal with this game, isn't it coming to the Switch? Surely it will be out in the first year? I wonder why it hasn't been talked about.

Probably because they've just started the Switch version after giving up on the Wii U's so it's progrees is behind the others. The Wii U was being directly worked on by the main team (unlike the PS4 Xbone which were being done outhousr) so they are invested in a Ninty release.

Because you wouldn't think that something so obvious would actually happen right? What's next? People expecting the sun to rise tomorrow?

No idea, TBH. Maybe at a later date and they're currently focusing on the PC game and the PS4 and XOne versions?

@Nicolai @Octane This is a game that Nintendo should have done everything in their power to see a physical release on day one of the Switch. I have a bad feeling this is going to arrive too late on the system for anyone to take notice. A lot of potential customers are just gonna buy it elsewhere.

I guess, I looked on their website, and it clearly states a Worldwide release of Apr 11, listing every platform but Nintendo Switch. That's disappointing

Ninty couldn't even get enough of their own games out on launch let alone everyone elses, besides Playtonic have said they have been getting help from Ninty.

This would be another reason to own a Switch since I have no other option. As it stands now Zelda is the only game I care about till Splatoon 2 comes out and I can play that on my Wii U.

Those mini games would be a nice bonus but I hope they're actually fun to play and didn't take away too much resources from developing the main game, especially when it's a small team to begin with.

Also of note that I assume this is a brand new trailer yet Switch still isn't mentioned at the end. So I assume it definitely isn't confirmed to be coming to the system yet.

Not confirmed yet but it's just a matter of time. Playtonic definitely wants this on a Nintendo system.

This doesn't surprise me, considering Banjo Tooie had all those minigames. Some of them great, too.

I really hope this is given a date for the Switch soon- I'm totally hyped for this game!

I think the main team's focus switched over to development of the PS4/XONE versions. They have an assured market there, and at this point in time, I think they might wonder if they'll have backlash from the cancellation of the Wii U version reflected in the (possible) Switch version's sales.

If truly porting isn't as hard as it was on the Wii U, they shouldn't have much problems saying a release date, which for me means that now Switch will be an afterthough. Plus, if they truly had Nintendo's support, I do think they would have shown something at least on Treehouse or on a proper announcement, as other indie devs have.

I do hope I'm wrong, though.

@Luna_110 I do somewhat agree with you. The fact that January is nearly over and still nothing has been confirmed to backers about how to move their pledge over to the Switch has never concerned. That and the fact they haven't mentioned a word about the Switch even after the conference last week. I do wonder if now they have the backing and Team 17 behind them, they feel less obliged to make the port at least for the time being.

It going to come but they need to announce it soon. End of February at the latest to reassure Nintendo fans.

They got two days now UK time. They said that 15 days ago. I don't think its coming, either that or it isn't good news. Either way, they've waited too long and not said anything reassuring. "Should" isn't "will".

As I've said before, they've successfully killed the crowdfunding opportunities for Nintendo platforms, or at least dealt the last big blow needed. Well done Playtonic. You've killed a market for yourselves and any other publisher-less developers.

@BLP_Software I think ypure jumping the gun here still. For all we know it won't be done till the summer and they don't have anything concrete to announce yet. Maybe they want to announce with actual game footage.

@Spoony_Tech Maybe they want to wait for Switch footage. Hasn't stopped them using PS4 footage this whole time but still.

I do agree it feels like they didn't want to can it for Wii U. But they said they were looking into a Switch version and changing pledges. Then silence. Then a tweet saying by end of the month, and now it's here.

As you know, I'm a chill dude, but from a consumer perspective, this is heading to Mighty No. 9 levels of PR hell. What have Playtonic or Team17 told consumers on the Nintendo side? A part of an email over a month ago saying maybe, and a Tweet of a timeframe near passed.

Ill say end of this week, which is what, Feb 5th? If that happens, I'll be asking some pretty heavy questions. Which I don't want to, as I backed seeing the potential here.

I'm hoping it is a similar situation to Bethesda with Skyrim and 2K with their NBA game. It's definitely happening, but for whatever reason Nintendo don't want them to confirm it is happening.

Fingers crossed we will get a Direct soon that will focus on the Switch's UI, other functions, virtual console and eShop. Maybe they are saving this for that so it can be a big reveal eShop launch title?
