Looks like Yooka-Laylee is coming in April.Eurogamer reports that it's pre order page is up on the Xbox store.I'm surprised at the price though, £34.99.Not sure if it's getting a retail release too but I worry it won't do well as a digital download at that price.I'll happily pay that but I'm not sure others will.
Feeling confident we'll be seeing a Switch version on January 12th.
I think the mention was for botw, instead of yooka laylee?
If so, this looks like an almost finished game that's being polished. I wonder, it could be the case that the team is just that efficient at managing game dev projects. I hope so, I'd love to see more of them in the future.

Yeah, that's what I was responding to. BotW is already classified in Australia, which suggests to me that Nintendo are around the retail manufacturing stage or finishing the translation into other languages (which shouldn't take 12 months).
The last game I was VERY MUCH looking forward to on the Wii U has been cancelled.
I just don't.... sigh.
I guess I'll just pick up the game on the PS4 or the Switch. It's still always going to be a huge bummer, though.
Well, I can't say this surprises me. I don't blame them either. Like I say for all these kickstarter games, releasing them on the wii u when the switch is out would be sending it out to die anyway. So might as well just devote resources to the switch instead.
@NintyFan I think it's pretty obvious that issue was "the platform we're developing for is about to be obsolete in 4 months, and we probably won't have it out before then!"
Anyone else think we might see this game for the Switch launch?I was always confident we would be seeing it in January 12 presentation and I don't believe for 1 minute they are only just now deciding to bring it to Switch. If there's one way to gain some respect back from Nintendo fans, giving them a few weeks of exclusivity will help.

No. The rest of the platforms ain't getting it until Mid-April at the earliest. If we're lucky, we'll get it at the same time they do, or maybe a few weeks after. We'll find out when they have some more concrete plans.

You and I think alike sometimes. I don't believe they just now came to this decision. This has been decided a while ago and I'm almost certain they have had dev kits for a while now.

If I was only ever able to have Monster Hunter and EO games in the future, I would be a happy man.
Don't forget Microsoft has that thing that forbids any game be released prior to the xbox version if it's a multiplatform game(unless it has exclusive Xbox themed content) . I wouldn't hold my breath for a surprise switch launch.
