@monkeyspasm The only problem with that is that I don't have a 4K set and just bought a One S. ;P
The difference in price was just too much to justify picking the other one for me.
100€ for an S or 475€ for an X...
With next gen on the way and probably releasing in 2020. So I'll just "rough it" for 2 years and then jump on board at launch with the new system which should be another huge step above X hardware and most likely play all these games as well.
Love the idea of being able to play original Xbox games in 2018 on modern hardware though.
As an old guy with a soft spot for preservation, be that movies, games or magazines, this one facet certainly hits home and makes me happy.
@CaffeinatedGamer Yeah, they could very easily have gone the way of Sony and just offerend select HD remasters of Xbox or 360 games that you need to purchase again for 20-25€ to be able to play them, but they didn't.
Bought Panzer Dragoon Orta all the way back in 2002 and still have the game lying around? Pop it in and you can play it for free.
That's how it really should be, and honestly, Microsoft was the last company I thought off that would do such a thing, but here we are. It certainly gathers a lot of good will from me to see them do things like that.
So yeah, I don't have a problem of buying a couple of games digitally here and there even though I have them in my cabinet. They really deserve it. And who knows, perhaps this will show Sega that people still want Panzer Dragoon games.
I actually looked up which original Xbox I have a year or 2 ago since many are dying due to some capacitors leaking. And naturally, I have one of those models that can't be modded to avoid this... The see though crystal one that came out later.
I originally sold my system as I didn't play it anymore and wanted other games.
Then Sega releases OutRun 2 and I bought all my games again with a Crystal system. lol that's actually the very last system I sold.

You got an xbox one after all! Add me as a friend @AgentLA. And the other day we spoke of Xbox exclusives and I forgot to mention the awesome Cuphead! That is a must play.
Cheers!

@Agent721 I said it before, I get very easily distracted by shiny new things.
When I start looking into a new system and start reminiscing about the games I loved to play in previous gens, it's easy to get swept up for me.
This time it certainly happened very quickly though. It usually takes a couple of months and lots of research to make up my mind when I'm not sure.
Backward compatibility played a huge role, that's for sure. Having my previous purchases "safe" certainly feels very good.
And I hope people don't take this the wrong way, but I have been getting quite disgruntled with Sony in the past 1-2 years or so. Dropping the Vita like a brick, even though it wasn't needed at that time.
Closing down Evolutions Studios and Guerrilla Cambridge, despite them making one of my favourite racing games and Killzone titles respectively. Not to mention a host of other smaller missteps that showed they didn't care anymore about things they claimed to care about at the beginning of the generation.
It all kind of added up and I didn't even feel like booting up the system anymore.
Yet now I'm actually looking forward to getting back into certain games, even though I'll have to buy them again and have to start from the beginning, but I don't mind.
Wither 3, Metal Gear V, Zombie Army Trilogy, and I just put in a bid for Diablo 3, Bioshock collection and Just Cause 3 as well. Really excited about a different kind of games compared to what's on Switch again.
It's always nice to have some variety after all.
Looking forward to picking up Dangan Feveron, although I'm not sure it's coming out in Europe as well. :-/
I'll have to grab Cuphead as well. Shame it won't get a physical release. Have to import Ori from Canada one of these days also.
I'll add you on Monday, if all goes well and I get my system. Because I'm not sure the friends request would work correctly from a 360 to an Xbone one. My name there is the same as here btw.

I've been keeping my eye out for more details on the Sega Ages titles, there's supposed to be more details coming today. Anyway, no more news yet but I did see a post from someone on a Japanese site saying
"I'm glad it won't just be old titles (80's & 90's} but also up to the Naomi board. "
I wonder what makes them say that. It was translated by Google so maybe it's not accurate.
@OorWullie Naomi boards, eh? Just had to go look that up. Very interesting. Does that explain the Ikaruga post this week? I'd love some Virtua Tennis and Virtua Fighter too.
I suspect what it actually means, though, is Crazy Taxi. That's already had two releases on mobile, so Sega clearly really believes in it.
@OorWullie I reckon the titles will be across home consoles and arcades (like the 3DS games) and will have extras (In Outrun, you can customise your car, there is a new tune etc etc and it all felt in keeping with the game.) As for 'up to Naomi' wasn't Daytona 2 on Naomi? Maybe we will see some arcade rac..haaang on a minute...Monkey Ball was on Naomi too. MEEP!
I never drive faster than I can see. Besides, it's all in the reflexes.
@Krull Crazy Taxi would be great and one I could definitely see coming.
I'd really love to see Virtua Racing. It's never had a true arcade perfect port and an M2 remaster would likely mean it being upgraded to run at 60fps, as well as being in HD and wide-screen. Online leaderboards would be the cherry on top.
Here's another translated post I just found on Twitter.
It's Sunday at 3.40pm Japanese time that more Sega Ages details will be revealed. Can't wait!
@OorWullie I'd love to see a perfect Crazy Taxi port, but it has to have the original music and not the things they replaced it with because it costs too much to license the original tracks again.
The music is a huge part that sets the tone for the whole game.
And I was just thinking that Burning Rangers would actually be one of the games that would benefit the most with a remake/port with added features.
I love the original, but it is kinda messy and a bit hard to control when you're used to modern day setups.
It pushed the Saturn beyond it's limits and nearly falls apart at the seams due to this.
Brilliant game despite all the technical issues though.

@OorWullie If I remember correctly, the Naomi board's architecture was almost if not totally the same as the Dreamcast. Therefore if Naomi arcade ports are coming to Switch then that opens up the entire Dreamcast library possibly. I want it!
If we get Naomi, and if we could only have some kind of pointer, or special gun Joy-Con, I'd buy House of the Dead 2 and Confidential Mission in a heartbeat! If licensing wasn't an issue I'd want Giga Wing 2, Ferarri F355 Challenge, Project Justice, Exzeal, Radirgy Noa, Mazan: Flash of the Blade, Ninja Assault, and the Power Stone games!
@mauhlin12 The base architecture is the same, yes. The advantage of the arcade hardware is that additional boards can be used to increase the processing power, IIRC. I believe Dead or Alive 2 had used 3 boards. I gotta look up which other games used that feature.
@GrailUK Daytona 2 runs on Model 3, unfortunately.
2 more Sega Ages titles announced along with some new features that will be included.
Alex Kidd in Miracle World
Gain Ground
"For Sonic the Hedgehog, it was announced that elements from the 3DS version will be included, such as the added Spin Dash. Also, it’ll come with the Mega Play arcade version.
For Thunder Force IV, Styx Mode from the SEGA Saturn edition is in. Online leaderboards will also be supported.
With Phantasy Star, M2 is bringing over the added features from Phantasy Star Collection. You’ll be able to change the walk speed, difficulty, and more."
@OorWullie Sounds terrific.
Such a great way to add value to classic games.
Glad to see those Phantasy Star Collection extras being brought back in as well.
A couple of simple tweaks to really old RPGs can make a huge difference to the enjoyment of the games.

@Agent721 I should have it tomorrow.
My friend just wanted to buy the same system since he was just able to sell his PS4 with a bunch of games.
But when he went to the shop, the system was priced at €279 instead of €179.
Luckily he called me and I knew another store that had the 179 price. It was with that Mordor game instead though, but still. He's not a fan of racing games anyway.
I don't think that the discount in that shop will last much longer either, so he just ordered one and should have it by Friday.

Cool and nice price! That makes such a big difference. I got my Xbox 1S last summer and I found it for $190, with Minecraft, or at 153 Euros at today’s exchange rate. It was through Newegg.com, but through their eBay store. I couldn’t pass it up due to the price and I sold the Minecraft download card through eBay for $15, so the price was even less...hopefully your buddy can sell it Mordor and get some cash back that way too.
Glad to see you & your buddy did well!

Pretty exciting news from Sega!! I will definitely be downloading some but probably not all.
I wonder if Shenmue will eventually make it to the Switch via this branding? Or did Sony get them to avoid the Switch since the new Shenmue is a PS4 exclusive? I bet it’s the latter but I guess only time will tell. I own a PS4 but I rarely touch it anymore.
