@Lroy Will do! I'm gonna see if I can get some gameplay in this afternoon.
MY best friend just picked up a Xbox One for me halfway across the country where he lives, and he's not sure when he'll be able to drop it off today or sometimes later, so if I get it today, I'll probably be super distracted with my new toy for a while.
Got a 500GB one with Forza Horizon 3 and the How Wheels DLC, plus Forza 7 for 204€. Still can't believe the price... especially since most shops here still sell it for around 280 without F7.
I'm holding off on Wulverblade because it seems like the perfect game to get a physical release somewhere down the line. Don't know why, just a hunch.
And yeah, I really don't trust reviews on this site anymore, unless they come from Damien or Shiryu even though he gave Dragon Blaze a lowly 9/10! >
Otherwise they often seem to be either way off, or have a safe 8/10 kind of quality.

@Lroy Been playing it for a little bit now and first impressions seem good.
A bit on the easy side maybe and quite repetitive, although I've only played with one character.
Moves are really basic as is the combo system, which I'd hardly call a combo system since it's just your basic punches combined with your limited special moves.
Kinda like the finishing move idea, although it's easy to ignore it and just run over people to explode them instead.
Not sure how the replay value is at this point, but for such a low price, I'm not expecting a lot more intricacy to be honest.
It's certainly no Streets of Rage, Final Fight or Double Dragon II, but it's in no way a bad game either.
Think more like Vigilante perhaps.

Forgot to mention I took delivery of that vertical/TATE stand for Switch which was recommended to me by some folks here(?) a good while back. I got the Nulaxy Dual Foldable Stand and it was (still is) reduced to £9.99 on Amazon. Not had much chance to play with it yet - did seem a little insecure in the sense, I got the impresssion a nudge of the table would set the system loose of the rubber grips on the stand - but for a tenner it will suit my needs for all the shoot-em-ups on Switch.
Will try and post some pics once I get some time to properly sit down and game with it.

@Lroy Ah, I got the Hori one. Haven't used it yet, but it seems quite sturdy.
Rubber feet so it doesn't slide and even when shaking the table it doesn't seem to move at all.

@meppi64 How much was the HORI and could you post a pic of it in action? No rush, of course. Just curious. I'm sure I'll make use of the one I just bought but no harm in seeing an alternative too.
@Lroy Sure. It was 13€ at amazon.fr when I ordered it.
I hope these pictures came out okay as my iPad 3, I think is starting to show it's age and it's starting to get a bit dark here. Not that the sun did any work today anyway.
Took a couple from different angles so you could get a better idea what it looks like.
Kept the joy cons in the picture to get a better idea of it's size.
I have to say that in that last picture, it looks kind of flimsy, but trust me, it's not. I don't have any fears using my system with it. Like with most things, when in doubt, go for Hori.

I already had the old bluray transfer from a couple of years ago, but when I saw Arrow doing their own version, I had to have it. It just came in.
After their transfer of The Thing, I knew I had to grab this one.
Zavvi seems to be the only ones who have the steelbook, and while I normally avoid those, this one with the special cover was too good to pass up.

My own stand is basically the same as @meppi64 but a different brand. It does the job perfectly. I like to play while laying on my bed and the large base of this stand means I can do that no problem. If I'd got the tripod stand I was initially going to get, it wouldn't have been so easy.
@meppi64 Woo! That's a fantastic deal on the Xbox! Plus, all that Forza greatness right there. You're going to have a blast!
It's been such a long week it seems. I haven't really had time to get any gaming in outside of a small burst of Forza 7 I did last night trying to improve on lap times lol. I did play a little more Tengai before I got too frustrated and also checked out Rogue Aces which could get addicting. Sad to see no online leaderboards for it though.
@CaffeinatedGamer Oh for sure!
A little over a hundred Euros when you take into account how much FH3 and the DLC costs.
Really happy I got one for that price. My buddy should be bringing it over on Monday after work, so I'm looking forward to digging into those games that are already sitting here waiting to be played.
Been playing some more Sleeping Dogs and getting back into Trials HD. Man, the hours just fly by, even when playing just one level, trying to go for a no miss run and a good time!
I'm not sure if the friend request worked btw.
On the one hand I could still see "friend request pending", yet when I go to your activity, it said you became friends with me 5 days ago, even though I can't see you on my list.
Deleted my the pending friend request and now I can't even find your activity log... Might be because I only have a 360 and it's sent from a One, I really don't know. :-/

@meppi64 That's awesome! Both Forza games are fantastic in their own ways and really provide great driving experiences that end up being vastly different from each other. You could play both for weeks and weeks and not get tired of racing. Haha. Plus, the Hot Wheels DLC...SOO GOOD!
I just wanted to say that again.
As for the friend request, I saw that you accepted it. I know there is some funkyness between the two consoles. I think we need to both be friends AND follow each other. We'll just set it up once your Xbox One arrives.
I just saw that the newly announced Original Xbox games are now available on the store. This includes Panzer Dragoon Orta, one of my all-time favorites. I wonder if it's playable now as well?? I'll have to try!
Amazing news. Who needs the Megadrive Collection when we're getting Sega Ages, over 15 individually released classics remastered by M2, the team who brought the superb 3D Classics to 3DS .The 3 confirmed titles so far are Sonic 1,Phantasy Star and Thunderforce IV and they will start to arrive over the summer. The 3DS got an amazing version of Arcade Outrun and Afterburner so it's likely these won't just be Remastered Megadrive classics on Switch.
Arcade Outrun remastered in HD with wide-screen at 60fps with extra content and online leaderboards Can you imagine that! The 3DS version had that treatment, minus the HD and leaderboards. It's a very real possibility Switch will too, minus the 3D of course.
Please make 60fps Virtua Racing HD in wide-screen with leaderboards a thing M2.
More details to come later today.
Got a big smile oh my face. It just keeps getting better and better on Switch.
@CaffeinatedGamer Forza Horizon 3 will be the game I'll be playing first for sure!
Really loved the first one on 360 and that was one of the games I really missed when I decided to get a PS4 instead. And yeah, the moment I saw that Hot Wheels DLC, I think it was during their E3 presentation last year, my jaw just dropped. That's how videogames should be like. We get way too little of that nowadays.
Really weird about that friends request, especially sine it says on your end that I accepted, while I never even saw it and decided to send you one instead... We'll see in a couple of days I guess.
I just went through my PS4 collection and picked up all the 3rd party games and gonna put them up for sale, and just kept the exclusives. Same with my PS3. Close to 250 titles. lol
Already got most of them on 360 anyway, so it won't be too hard to rebuild that part and leave out the ones I didn't like much. For the One, it'll take a little more time, but I feel good about having everything on one system, knowing I'll be able to take them with me next gen and not having to worry about needing 3 extra legacy systems in case one breaks down. Gonna keep my PS3/4 for certain titles like Last of Us 2 and Japanese exclusives like EDF and Yakuza.
And I just heard from my buddy, who had decided to sell his PS4 to also get an Xbone. He really loved the look of State of Decay 2 and we had a blast playing Gears 2 and 3 Horde back when we both had 360s. So it'll be a lot more fun that way, especially since we didn't have anything to play on PS4 besides BF1, and we both hated that with a passion, even though one of our most beloved online games is Bad Company 2.
Heck, that one seems to be backwards compatible as well. Perhaps we could fire it up again if there are more players on Xbox than PS3.
I still have 2 copies of Orta here, but I think I'll grab the digital copy when it goes up for 10€ I think, to show support for all the work they are putting into this. Giving something back will certainly help keep this train going.
Just heard about Shenmue 1+2 as well!
It just baffles me that the Switch is left out in the cold yet again for that one. The system should easily be able to run those games. Heck the original Xbox could. :-/
@OorWullie Oh yeah, so glad it's M2 that's doing these Sega Ages, they are the best of the best when it comes to emulation.
That's the ideal outcome.
I'd love to see some Model 2 and 3 games finally get perfect home ports, but I'm probably wishing for something unlikely.

@meppi64 Absolutely! What they did with Hot Wheels Horizon is just simply fun creation at its best! It turned out so good and brings back a lot of fun memories of some of those classic arcade racers. I can’t wait to hear your thoughts once you start playing.
Ohhh, that’s a good idea about showing support for backwards compatibility. I should buy a digital copy of Orta as well. Or, buy copies for friends.
