@Pizzamorgif you change your Switches time clock you can in game travel back or forward to any event.
gimme a moment I'll show you.
I guess my question is less how and more if it is necessary. IE like if I played today and moving forwards, would I experience all the events you experienced in August to December 2020? Or will nothing happen and the only way I can experience anything is to fudge the system?
darn they patched it. the event time travel. but you still can go to them when they happen again. they are the same every year so nothing to worry about.
Not really sure how I feel about this game so far, being honest. I didn't expect the game to be such an absurd drip feed. I knew things worked in real time, but it feels like every time I log in, I do one task and then am told to wait until tomorrow for the next event to trigger so I just log off again.
That being said, I went for a tour of my Sister's island (she has designed it kinda like the Fairy Town from Sword and Shield) and we hung out in her museum and it was just a really amazing time. I don't see my Sister very often as we live far apart now, so the Switch has always been a way for us to connect, but having a game where we can just hang out, is really cool.
She also has helped me circumvent some of the grind, I didn't want too much help as I didn't want to break the game, but I was hoping it would at least speed up some of that earlier stuff so I could just get to the fun parts but it looks like there isn't really much circumvention around the real time events.
Finally, at long last, Redd today had the last statue that I need for my museum. So when it comes in the mail tomorrow I will for the first time in any Animal Crossing game complete the museum (and I've played them all except Wild World)! Hooray!

I recieved a physical UK version of Animal Crossing New Horizons as a gift along with a US code for the Happy Home Paradise DLC. If I redeem the DLC code can I access it with the UK copy of Animal Crossing? I've heard that there are games that can work with DLC from different regions and games that don't so I'm not sure which side Animal Crossing New Horizons is on.
Absolutely crazy that this game is three years old now. This was actually the first Nintendo game I had ever preordered since I was so excited about it. It was released right at the start of the pandemic when everything was shutting down, and I seriously think its release could not have been timed better, at least for me. It was such an amazing game to pass the time and escape from the problems that everyone was facing for a few hours. I remember playing it for the first time and being absolutely blown away by the visuals, the music, and just how relaxing it was to play. While New Leaf is probably the better game overall, this game will always have a special place in my heart for getting me and millions of others through arguably one of the most difficult periods in our lifetime.
