Topic: Adult Switch Gamers

Don't worry if you can't it's all good. Not really sure, it started sounding like a jumbo jet taking off, and im talking PS4 Pro Levels., was getting very hot both docked and undocked, then the screen started flickering before finally dying on me.

Hopefully get another one at some point, just not sure when at the moment.

@Fafounet Yeah, I know Monday was MK8 DELUXE / SF II COLLECTION on rotation but there seems to have been a swell of interest from likes of @mauhlin12 @zkibu @eagle9 @wasilewski @oorwullie @agent721 @hybridseed et. al to warrant a regular weekly SF II Games Night? Tuesday evening seemed a popular choice.

So if we did decide to move SF II to its own dedicated evening, that would allow another game to takes its place on a Monday on the week's we aren't playing MK 8 DELUXE. Make sense?

As SPLATOON 2 is a game a lot of us own and has regular interest for a Games Night, I think we are finally going to push ahead and set Saturdays (time to be decided) as its dedicated Games Night. @NaviandMii - 5pm may be a little hard for those of us with children. I'm not likely to get a look in until after the kids are in bed. So 8, 8:30pm.

So excluding SPLATOON 2, what were the other possibilities for a Monday game? I think they were PUYO PUYO TETRIS and SUPER BOMBERMAN R (happy with either) but I can't remember the votes exactly.

I think Thursdays are still ROCKET LEAGUE / ARMS. And most likely once MARIO TENNIS ACES is out at the end of June, we will Switch out one of those to accommodate it on the Thursday.

Again, this is not me saying categorically we need to do any of the above, as you know I'm pretty much writing off the whole of the next four weeks for World Cup watching 😉, but just tried to be considerate of what others have expressed interest in happening and seeing if we can add more Games Night options.

If we did settle on a schedule which saw at least one game a night being offered on Mondays/Tuesdays - Thursdays/Saturdays. That is plenty of opportunity for the folks here to get involved with one or all of them.

Do you think once we have a definite schedule for Games Nights locked down (we've actually been surprisingly consistent for awhile now) we could somehow get the schedule written up and made a sticky on NL Switch Forum? Like @Oorwullie managed to get done for the Arcade High-Score Leaderboards?

I know the core group here know what games we play and on what day and what time but I still see people asking in this thread and other threads having seemingly failed to find the information here?

@Lroy The Guilded site has a calendar, which I'd be more than happy to maintain for us (for all games). The site automatically posts information and reminders through to Discord each day as well, which should help to make things super-easy to keep track of what's happening and when

I've also gone back through the thread to take note of all of the usernames of people who have taken part in our Rocket League sessions in the past, so I can just copy and paste that list to tag everyone each time another event rolls around Between the calendar, Discord and 'hosts' keeping track of what they're hosting and when - fingers crossed we should be able to keep on top of everything!

EDIT: With regards Splatoon 2 - I'm cool with an 8pm start - however, I may not be able to play for too long...so what I could do, perhaps, is jump on at around 7pm and host an hour of 'warm up' matches before the 'main event' kicks off at 8pm? ..how does that sound?

I should be able to jump into Splatoon most Saturday's at 8pm or not long after.. weekdays most evenings I won't be able to join in til about 10 due to my wife not finishing work until 8pm or later... But happy to join in whenever I can, what time do you usually finish?

@NaviAndMii I must confess, I've not really used Discord or looked at the Guilded thingy yet. I don't seem to be able to get any links to Guilded from the Discord app to display properly on my phone. I'm too lazy to sit with my laptop open and plugged in. I will try and give Discord another go but it hasn't been something I've taken to too much as of yet. Happy it is something that's working for you and others though 👍

I'm fine with a 7pm start for SPLATOON 2 on a Saturday. I doubt I'll ever be on much earlier than 8ish but me joining later on is no problem. Likewise @HybridSeed - we tend to run the Games Nights for as long into the evening as people want to. 11pm / Midnight finishes have be known.

@NaviAndMii @Lroy Saturday for Splatoon 2 sounds great I can usually be on at the 7-8 o clock range... just not this week as my little cousin is graduating from high school so I'll be away from my Switch. For future Saturdays the timing works for me. BTW what's next for Monday? Is it MK8 in the rotation?

@Lroy Oh sure - no problem! The main thing that got me interested in Discord was as a means of quick communication if ever there's an issue - when we were sending party invites to Fafounet in Rocket League that weren't being received his end a few weeks ago, for example, it'd have been great to just ping him a message to let him know what was going on - and the 'instant' nature of Discord means that such issues should (hopefully) cause minimal disruption to the flow of the evening (..the rest of Discord's features are just an added bonus for people that'd like to use them, really)

As for the calendar thing on Guilded, all that really does is just help me to keep track of everything (and others if they'd like to refer to it) ..I think that we're rolling back to 'Week 1' of our rotation on Monday - what I could do is put the plan for the next couple of weeks in to that calendar (just so I have a clear picture) - then create an OorWullie-style thread to post the planned events for the coming week in every Monday, or something like that? ..could make for a really useful reference for people - and it would be good to have something like that here in the forum

@mauhlin12 Yeah, very much looking forward to some Splatoon-ing tomorrow! ..and I believe that Mario Kart Monday is indeed rolling back around at the start of next week - can't wait!

@Lroy @Fafounet Am I right in saying that the plan for next week ('Week 1') is...

• Monday: Mario Kart
• Wednesday (?): Street Fighter
• Thursday: Rocket League
• Saturday: Splatoon 2

...?

..and what would be the schedule (in theory, at least, what with the World Cup and everything!) for 'Week 2' again? (haha!)

@NaviAndMii I believe Tuesday was the day for Street Fighter as more players have availability that day. Street Fighter 2sday. Or Street Fighter Hado-sday? Depends on how people pronounce Hadoken.

@NaviAndMii @Mauhlin12 Yeah, SF II is Tuesdays now. This Monday will be MK8 DELUXE. Thursday is ROCKET LEAGUE. Sat is SPLATOON 2.

We definitely got a lot of game nights popping off. That’s great!

Forgot that I recorded this little gem from our Salmon Runs on Wednesday. It was with @NaviAndMii and @Mintendo who dropped the last egg in the basket for the buzzer beating win (with maybe a little push from the Scrapper who splatted me. Ouch!) Booyah!

@Agent721 Yeah, it sure is great! Hopefully we'll add in some regular Mario Tennis Aces and Super Smash Bros sessions as well going forward - and it looks like we're likely to be treated with a whole boatload of new multiplayer games on Switch in the next few months, so we'll probably have to squeeze a few others in to the schedule too! (..somehow! Haha!) ..should be great - and something for everyone!
