We had a bit of a tough run at the start - but once we got in to our rhythm, there was no stopping us! _{(..well, most of the time anyway! )} ..great stuff!

I hadn't played Splatoon 2 for a few months (as you could probably tell!) - felt great to jump back in! Thanks very much again @all, enjoyed that a lot!

Yeah, sorry that I dropped out of the thread last night - I'm just far, far too slow at using the forum on my phone - by the time that I'd typed out a 3 word message, the next round had already long started! ..in short, it's basically unusable for me (as an in-game option)

I think that I'm just going to sit in Discord during events going forward - being an instant messaging system, I find it much quicker and easier to use - plus, I get push notifications on my phone to let me know that there are new messages etc

@iamcardboard and I were also trying out the voice chat functionality last night, which was good fun! ..and the app lets me chat and text simultaneously, so I can keep in contact with everyone (voice and text) all at once

Obviously, if you don't fancy chatting or texting during matches, there's no pressure whatsoever to join in ..but if you're having any problems or anything (eg. invites not coming through, struggling to connect etc) - that'll be the best place to get hold of me, so it might be worth people downloading just for that purpose (and if you'd like to join in the chit-chat, all the better! )

Sorry I haven't been around much lately. My Switch has gone kaput and I no longer had it, had to get a refund for it. Not sure when I'm going to be able to get another one.

I can join in Rocket League nights still from my Xbox One if people are cool with that....

@SuperJoon Sure - it'll mean doing things slightly differently (I'll have to set up password-protected lobbies instead, as cross-platform parties haven't been introduced to the game yet) ..but I'll do my best to accommodate

Sucks about your Switch - any idea what went wrong? ..and are you hoping to replace it in future?

@SonOfVon Yeah, @iamcardboard and myself successfully tested out voice chat over on the Adult Switch Gamers Discord server last night - it was just the two of us in there, but I know that at least a couple of others (@KnownAsLethal and @Agent721) have expressed an interest in using it as well going forward - you're more than welcome to join us! (I'll try and use it - and the text channel over there - as often as possible) ..the more, the merrier!

@Agent721 Yeah, worked a charm!

I was using my wired PS4 headset (plugged in to the audio jack of my phone) - and I believe that @iamcardboard was just using a standard pair of iPhone headphones (with an in-line mic) - and both seemed to be working really well

There are a few different settings you can adjust (volume, input mode, sensitivity etc) so I'll probably have a little play around with those at some point just to find the perfect balance for my set-up...but the main thing is that it worked - and worked well!

Definitely added to the experience (even if it was mostly just laughing at our repeated failures! ) - would be great to have a few more people in there for future gaming nights

Good to hear. My PS4 headset is the blue tooth dongle kind, so I’ll use my Xbox one headset which is line in and has a great mic, so it should work very well. Glad to see there is a solution to Nintendo’s non solution!

@Agent721 I suspect that Bluetooth headsets would probably work as well (we just so happened to both be using wired options last night) ..but if you have both options, I'm sure that you'll get one or the other to work!

Definitely helps to bring a bit more parity between the Switch and PC/PS4/X1 experiences - and being able to have both text and voice channels open simultaneously is a really neat touch, allowing us all to stay connected

...now, if Nintendo would just allow me to send game invites via the Switch OS, I'd pretty much have everything I could wish for!

@NaviAndMii @Iamcardboard well, if anyone wants to hear a Franco-Irish accent, then you'll be in for a treat! I'll try to locate a pair of headphone to have a go.

@NaviAndMii I might be the last person on the planet who still doesn't have a smart phone so as of now I don't have a means of voice chat. I have a tablet but no mic, so I'd always just keep this forum open during game nights and hit the refresh button in between races/matches/fights/etc. and try to type a quick message if needed. I did download the Discord app after Splatoon yesterday so I'll keep that open during game nights as it looks like quite a few people here are using that for text chat.

I'd be in for a SFC night/day for me. If I had to pick a day I'd go with Tuesday as I've seen that other players also have availability that day, but any day works for me. Hopefully so new challengers from North America will appear so Agent721 and I have some more players who can join for lag-free matches. I still have fun playing with overseas opponents even with the lag it's not completely unplayable on my end. It does kind of bring back memories of playing Chu Chu Rocket on Dreamcast with a 56K modem lol. Maybe we'll also get to see if Capcom makes any improvements to online play in the coming weeks.

@mauhlin12 Happy to make Tuesdays SF night. That means we have a slot open for another game to rotate on a Monday with MK8 DELUXE.

@Fafounet Was PUYO PUYO TETRIS or SUPER BOMBERMAN R the other possibility for a Monday?

@mauhlin12 Oh, that's great! I should imagine that most people will probably stick to the text chat area (with those that are voice chatting also joining in there) so that'll likely always be where the 'main' conversation is at - and if people, like yourself, can keep an eye on this thread as well - that'd be perfect! (..the main problem I have is that the browser on my phone is painfully slow, so it just takes an absolute age to read everything and respond on my end )

Of course, if I'm ever 'hosting' an event - I'll continue to post full details and invites here as usual ..look forward to many more to come! (..absolutely loved the Salmon Run session last night - great fun!)

@Lroy Oh, I forgot to mention - did you ever get to the bottom of why your wife and yourself couldn't seem to connect to each other last night? ..the game never seemed to boot me out - just yourself, for some reason (with your wife not connecting at all) ..strange one!

EDIT: Just noticed that you tagged me in a post on another thread (and were directing people here) regarding a dedicated Splatoon 2 session - I think that Saturday's might be the best day (perhaps with an earlier start? 5pm-ish maybe?) as Splatfest's are always held at weekends (usually finishing at around midday on a Sunday) ..would be great to have a regular session - and to team up together for Splatfest's as well on the weeks that they roll around! ..open to other suggestions though, if Saturday doesn't work for people

@Lroy I think Monday was going to be either Street F collection or MArio Tennis if I remember correctly. Will have a look back and confirm.

Purchased Just beats and Shapes from the US eshop. And.. it's a blast.
I would recommend it to anyone that likes either retro looking games, rhythm games with electro chip tunes and shmups. It is a mad mashup of all of these genres, yet it works! Had a ball playing with randoms online. And you can play with friends online too. A great game!
