@Mordridakon wow, never tried offline. That's really screwed. I had been praising the game. I play primarily on my Switch Lite, but have been home playing the whole time. Arghh.

@Mountain_Man same. I got that once and once just my player being completely black. I reported the bugs to 2K. They wanted me to clear my cache, then reinstall the game, then just know it's my "network connection" if the first two don't work. LOL

Clear your cache? I never even know you could do that on the Switch.

I discovered a big turn off in the game: The game is not playable on the go. If you don't have an internet connection or go offline, much of the game is locked, including the PGA Tour, which is the main single player component. It really sucks, TBH. Take this into account when purchasing this.

Oh, wow... that does suck. This is the first I've ever heard of it. If I had known, I probably wouldn't have bought it.

Does this game have motion controls?

I can never really get into sports games. I tried 2K19 a while back and it just never caught my interest. I also felt like a huge bum

Yeah, that seriously sounds like a "Reboot, and see if that fixes it" solution. When every other piece of software works fine on a system, then the problem is with the software in question, and not the system.

@Mountain_Man Exactly. When they said, "if that doesn't work, then it is your internet connection", I laughed. I pointed out that someone else on Nintendo Life (you) also had this problem and so it isn't just some random "clear your cache" issue, it's a bug. Fix it.

Saw that an update was pushed out this morning. Anybody know what it was? I really wish the Switch would provide patch notes for things like this.

I bought this just yesterday while 1/2 off. Loving the game...except for the use of analog stick to swing your club. They should have given the option for motion control and digital direction button. I can't shoot straight to save my life. It took several tries in tutorial and only got a pass due to luck. What I found funny was the option to calibrate your analog stick appeared after the tutorial.

I've heard people complaining of crashes but I played my 1st career mode, all 18 holes without a hitch. Unfortunately, I did not get into top 50 so back to repeating that tourney...

So is this game still only playable online?

I have a brand new Switch OLED and 2k21 PGA Tour game cartridge.

I can practice fine, but when I started playing the Q School Mode it wont swing. Using the left and right sticks (original controllers) won't do anything. I can press Y and it goes to the overhead view, but then there is no way to get it back either. I am stumped. In practice mode the sticks work perfectly and swings as it should. Am I missing something?

@porto what do you mean you felt like a huge bum? haha. do you mean that playing sports games in particular made you feel that you were acting like a lazy gamer rather than the jock that you usually are, assuming you're a jock irl? I'm not being facetious. I'm being literally like always and I am just curious. or did you mean that playing sports games made you feel like a literal huge bum as in an overweight homeless person? I am trying to relate to your comment and having a hard time. as for the first part of your comment, not being into sports games, I absolutely relate to that. my story is this: I have been casually into arcade style sports games since I was a kid. I used to love NFL blitz and NBA jam in the arcades, and volleyball on my NES. as for serious simulations however I never found an entry point and I did not really try to find one. last night however I realized something. I had been playing so many roguelites and action games and tough as nails action role playing games and two dimensional souls like metroidvanias and other genres, but namely spending so many hours grinding away at a few roguelites, namely curse of the dead gods, that I needed a break. I have never played golf but I used to be a competitive pocket billiards player, and a few times when I was a kid I saw and tried briefly a neo geo game called neo turf masters which is called big tournament golf in the US. so I did some research on what golf games are good for switch and x box. I ended up buying three different games and buying one of them twice for my X Box One X and my switch. I purchased pga tour 2k21 for both consoles. it is exactly what I wanted. it is like vegan comfort food from the cornbread Cafe in Eugene Oregon for my gamers heart after a long holiday season filled with sweets and where I gained a bunch of weight. I also purchased neo turf masters for eight dollars on my switch and it feels the same way, but I have to turn the volume down because there is no option to turn the annoying music off and it always plays. at lower volumes I like the music. I plan on buying it for my X Box too, if it's available. I haven't checked yet. I also bought golf story and I am having trouble getting into it. the plain golf in quick play is just okay so far. oh a heads up. I paid 15 dollars for the standard digital edition of 2k21 on x box, which is ideal. I lucked but and it was on sale on both consoles, but I spent the whole evening trying to decide whether to buy the game digitally or physically for my Nintendo Switch. this all relates to me not being able to find the answer to the question of whether or not the cartridge, which can be found brand new sealed on e bay for 13 dollars including shipping, also requires a download to even be able to play the offline mode. I decided in the end since I didn't know the answer to that question that I would just bite the bullet and pay the 17.50 for ultimate version ofthe game on the digital sale. I know this post is old but I just wanted to tell you that these games scratched an itch for me me didn't know I had and they also finally got me into a sports sim. if you purchase 2k21, change the swing difficulty to pro am at least or even normal. that is the secret to getting past the hard sim element. the game looks fantastic on my X Box One X but still plays well enough on my switch. on x box, all of the anti aliasing options help a great deal graphics wise, which in turn enhances the level of immersion. I would suggest turning one of them on, as they are off by default. this makes the game look a good deal better on my X Box One X, as even though it looks alot better on x box than on switch, there are still issues with aliasing. granted, these aliasing issues are nowhere near the zaggy orgy of ugliness that is the switch version that makes a poorly made dream cast game look like a young clone of Pamela Anderson's chest covered in your favorite desert by comparison, but they still stand out like an injured appendage. i find it curious that the anti aliasing option on x box for this game actually does what it is supposed to do. I have never encountered an anti aliasing option for a video game before that actually worked. on switch however the aliasing is trash and cannot be fixed but it is what it is. the gameplay and immersion is still there.
