Plus regular NS2 is 529€ at that retailer while NS2 Physical Games at that same retailer are 5€ cheaper as expected like they already did & do with NS1 aka MKW is 85€, DKB 75€ and so on.

Money's tight right now. It looks like I'm going to have to get some car repair work done.
But also, the price of the console is higher than I was hoping. That and my kids aren't using the Switch as much now-a-days. And are more playing games on their PCs or phones. So I'm waiting around to see if they end up wanting the Switch 2 down the road.
One of my kids was talking about getting a Switch Lite. With how many unfinished games we got on the Switch, I think that makes a bit more sense right now.
As someone who has only owned Nintendo consoles since the GameCube, Switch 2 feels like a proper generational leap. I've only owned Nintendo consoles since the GameCube, so I've only experienced one proper generational leap in over 20 years, Wii to Wii U. And even that was not too impressive to me at the time, as HD graphics had been around for years and I used to play my mate's 360 a lot.
I haven't really been blown away by a console I've owned since the Dreamcast. I was a big arcade gamer in the 90's,.and the DC finally felt like I was playing arcade perfect games at home. Games like Soul Calibur and Shenmue blew my mind in the same way as seeing Sonic the Hedgehog for the first time did. Memorable moments that stay with you. I've never had that same feeling from graphics since the DC. Playing Mario Galaxy and BOTW for the first time gave me that special feeling,.but it was the games that wowed me, not the graphics.
I have a feeling Switch 2 is going to impress me though. Unlike the Wii U, the Switch will feel modern. Graphics won't be too far off Series S, so for me, that's almost a double generational leap. Smooth framerates, high resolution and finally, Nintendo using anti aliasing.
1st party games are going to looks so clean and silky smooth. Like an animation. Imagine what Luigi's Mansion 4 is going to look like.
I cannot wait. I'm not sure I'll manage to get one on launch day. I'm in Thailand so stock will be limited for the first few weeks. The only game shop in my city said they'll contact me to pre order , as soon as they know something. So I'm optimistic I shouldn't be waiting too long. With the original Switch , it took me 4.months to get one.
I placed my pre-order last night, held off upgrading my 2017 Switch for this and thankfully this does seem like a real upgrade. Never had too much of an issue with the battery even on a V1 model so even though I was hoping for an upgrade on that part, I think I'll manage absolutely fine.
The games are something I'll have to monitor and see what the market looks like as and when they come out. By that I mean how much of the price retailers are willing to slash!
I got the Mario Kart bundle though and that combined with several Switch 1 games that still need playing through will keep me going for a good while. So for me, I'll mostly just be using it as an upgraded Switch initially and I'm more than happy with that.
Pre-ordered yesterday. Will be getting Cyberpunk and Mario Kart. I'm not supporting key cards (much like I dont really do codes in the box or digital.) So, if third parties don't put their games on cards then it just saves me money lol. I'll be grabbing Daemon X Machina and Donkey Kong later.
I never drive faster than I can see. Besides, it's all in the reflexes.
Short answer: no. I was going to, but it already is a struggle to get a preorder in and to be honest, none of the launch titles is a "must have immediately". I mean yeah Mario Kart. But if we are really 100% totally honest, it's more of the same, just in a Forza Horizon kinda way. I will love playing it, but I don't feel the urge to do so immediately either.
And, knowing Nintendo, the online experience won't be that great in the first few months after launch anyways.

Top 5 Indies I'd recommend you try: #1 Lovecraft's Untold Stories, #2 Moonlighter, #3 Hotline Miami, #4 Inside, #5 Into the Breach.
I doubt I’ll be buying one at launch. The OG is just fine for me. I would like to get one by the end of the year or sometime early next year. My intention is to pick up the Switch 2 once Metroid Prime 4 releases, and maybe the new iteration of Fire Emblem. Better yet, a new Xenoblade game. I can’t wait to see what kind of world they can create with this new hardware — they are the masters of making massive open worlds games with lush environments, unique biomes, and having it run smoothly.
Why dont you guys buy at MediaMarkt in europe? I got mine for 430€, and MKW is at 73€ rn. I still gonna wait for a price drop on the MK, because there is still time for another drop in price.
The pre-orders are open in my country, but I will not get it at launch. I will wait for more games and for the physical situation of Elden Ring to be clarified.
I was planning to get a Switch Deux right away and "registered my interest" in a MKW Bundle on Nintendo's American website, but with this tariff debacle we are living under here in the US, who knows how much the system and games will cost, or even if Nintendo will stay with the announced release schedule?
More broadly speaking, with all this (self-inflicted) uncertainty and inflation in the economy right now, I can't guarantee I'll remain in a buying mood 2 months from now. I'm in no way hopeful that the current administration will remedy the situation or improve things at all for the working people in this country.
We'll just have to see how things shake out. I sure would like to be playing the new Mario Kart with my kids later this year, though, and buy those physical releases that are supposedly intact on the cartridge, like Cyberpunk 2077, Daemon X Machina: Titanic Scion, and DK Bananza.

One of my main concerns will be how long the battery life will last in handheld, particularly with games that are going to be pushing the hardware to its limits - Elden Ring and Cyberpunk.
With the price in Greece at €520 (20 bucks more than Playstation 5), the answer is a very simple no. Knock a €100, have microSD Express cards become widely available, have physical games (and not this fake game-key crap) that Switch 1 doesn't have and then I'll be considering it.
I was debating whether to get the Switch 2 or a Steam Deck as my next handheld console, I was about 50/50 before the Direct but seeing the price being almost 400 quid in the UK and the cost of the games has really put me off getting one any time soon.
Other things really bothered me like the paid tutorial game and having to have the paid online subscription to use the voice chat function and on top of that no news (again) about Animal Crossing made the decision pretty easy for me.
I have a perfectly good Switch 1 that I will continue to use and if they ever decide to make another Animal Crossing game I'll consider buying a second hand Switch 2.
I've got a launch day preorder in the UK. It's the Mario Kart bundle. If I had to pay full price for Mario kart I might have waited. I don't mind £396 for the console price but the games, I'm probably going to be more picky and buy less games this generation. Also, I have a 1tb micro sd express card on back order, so spent quite a lot this time around.
I'm considering pre-ordering but I'm undecided yet. It comes out five days after Elden Ring Nightreign so I might be completely hooked on that by the time the Switch 2 releases. Time will tell though!
Got mine pre-ordered, there was never any doubt I’d be getting one. For me the only slight downside is the battery life had dropped back down to OG V1 Switch levels, but that’s the price we pay for the tech we’re getting, at the price we’re getting it at.
Besides, I’ve got dozens of power banks to keep me juiced up on the go if I need them, including a couple of beefy, yet surprisingly compact, 60,000mah monsters that will power damn near anything for hours on end.
Now it’s just the horrible, horrible, two month wait until I get my new toy in my hands.

Just like those around the world, I hope I can manage to snag one for PreOrder at my local retailers but man. But with that price I will have to really cringe on how to get the games next.
The way I see it is- Switch 2 will never drop price. If anything, it may actually increase. So if you can afford it and plan to get it eventually, you only get less bang for your buck every day you hold off. Because if you're gonna spend on it anyways, there's no advantage in waiting. All it accomplishes is... well, you get cheated out of time enjoying your console. Wait 6 months- that's 6 months of fun you forfeit, and gain nothing in return. If it was a fair exchange, like saving $100, there would be an argument for it. The only exception is if you plan to wait 2-3 years for a revision and hope it's one you're interested in (maybe you want an OLED but instead it's a Lite- then you wasted 2-3 years for nothing).
Of course, this logic only applies for those who can comfortably afford it and plan to buy one within the next 2-3 years.
