Topic: Strange Nintendo eShop Glitch?

Hi guys. I have a Switch 2, and recently purchased the digital Switch 1 version of Yakuza Kiwami through the eShop. Now, I have noticed on the eShop that the Switch 2 version of Yakuza Kiwami is on sale for 66% off at $9.99. The release date is 11/13/2025, but for the sale, it says 17190 days left??? Has anyone else had this happen to them? Should I reach out to Nintendo about this strange eShop glitch (?)?

@OmegaX83 I assume the thousand days+ left thing will get resolved by the time the game releases.

I don't see it on sale for US eshop. Maybe it's already resolved.

I still see the glitch on my Switch 2, and I am also in the US. On the game's eShop page, it says "Sale ends on 10/28/2072". Weird...

@OmegaX83 I was looking at nintendo's website, which usually mirrors whatever eshop has.

Looking on US eshop on switch 2, none of the Yakuza Kiwami listings display as on sale on my end, only a few with preorder.

I don't know what could cause that difference if we are both looking at the same eshop region on switch 2. If I can't reproduce what you're seeing, nintendo support may have the same issue.

This is really weird. I was able to purchase Mario Galaxy 1 and 2 successfully, and that was after purchasing Switch 1 version of Yakuza Kiwami. I contacted Nintendo Support yesterday, even sent them a screenshot of remaining thousand plus days remaining. On the eShop website, it still shows sale price of 66% off, at $9.99 price (Yakuza Kiwami Switch 2 version), but it didn't display remaining days of sale. Should I be concerned about my Nintendo Account?

@OmegaX83 There's a few games that automatically puts the Switch 2 game on sale, like Hogwarts Legacy is the biggest example. I think this is done so you can update them for much cheaper.

It's not a glitch. I'm guessing that since you bought the Switch 1 edition of Yakuza Kiwami you're "temporarily" offered a discount on the Switch 2 edition. I have neither a Switch 2 nor the game myself, so I can't confirm, but I've experienced this before, where you buy one game and get a discount period that lasts 1,000+ days for a similar game from the same publisher.

Thank you for the information. I am talking with nintendo support now and they think it is just a visual glitch. one recommendation was to clear system cache, but I really dont want to do that

Assuming the situation is what I mentioned above, clearing the system cache won't do anything because everything's working as it should. There's no glitch or problem here. I'm guessing the support is misunderstanding the situation.

Thats likely because you don't own Kiwami digitally on Switch.

The discount only applies for those who already bought the NSW1 version of the game. I did, and the discount was present and applied for me.

I wouldn't worry about it. This wont affect you and bottom line is, if you own Kiwami digitally on Switch you'll get a discount on the NSW2 Edition. It's a permanent discount since you can't un-own a digital game, so they probably slapped a few years on the expiration thus all those days left.

@JaxonH Ohhhhh, a discount for already owning a switch 1 version or another game by the publisher. That would explain why I can't see the sale. And the crazy date would just be an arbitrary place holder so it doesn't expire any time soon. If that's the case, this is on purpose, even if the sale's end-date looks wild.
