Between this and Hyrule Warriors, I think I could make the case that Omega Force is quietly one of the best Nintendo developers nowadays.
People would argue against Hyrule Warriors (and be wrong) but regardless of subjective taste, the release schedule for new Zelda games would be tragically small without Hyrule Warriors. Like in the past 12 years, in terms of original games, it would be Triforce Heroes, the two open world Zeldas, Echoes of Wisdom, Cadence of Hyrule and nothing else in 12 years. They have given quantity to Zelda and quality to Pokemon, highly valuable developer for Nintendo.
@kkslider5552000 not just Hyrule Warriors - but Fire Emblem Three Hopes and especially (although not Nintendo) Persona 5 Strikers are great games in their own right.
They’re a highly prolific team that have excellent understanding of the source material they’re working with imo (questionable story decisions in Three Hopes aside). Please let them do something with Mario, Nintendo.
@OmnitronVariant I played it for about 20 or so hours and then immediately dropped it after reaching the credits. I might have been tempted to play at least a bit more if it weren't for the real time elements but I wasn't really interested in letting this game become a chore for me to do every day. I had some fun with it but didn't particularly love it.
IDK I’m about 60 hours in - 20 hours post-credits - and I feel like the game is just opening up for me in a sandbox sense. Sure I’ve seen all the game’s core components (abilities and items) - but still feel there’s a lot I want to do with those components to make the environments I want to see.
Sure, it’s no longer a 4/5-hour a day kinda game for me, but I think I’ll be playing 0.5-1.5 hours daily for quite a while.
That’s a massive success in my eyes. I didn’t find this motivation for ACNH and even that game I would say I enjoyed a lot.
I definitely didn’t see this one coming either lol. The Ditto mechanics actually look really cool though—it feels like they could do a lot with that. Do you think it’ll actually play differently or just be more of a gimmick?
@OmnitronVariant Sure - not every game is going to consume your life though. If you prefer those alternative, they're there. I can see how people wouldn't feel inspired as I felt the same at the end of AC:NH.
Personally the Pokemon are 100% what make the game for me. Remove them and I have no incentive to do any of this.
I have the same feeling as Buizel, like... Legit I never have interest in playing Minecraft, but Pokopia? I'm done with the credits around 15-20 hours ago too, and I'm just so plum happy just... Making habitats and housing (which is super flexible!! So it's nice to just, make a trading open space that also doubles as a living space, an open cafe/relaxation rooftop, etc for the Pokemon to live in
Like, I'm already planning stuff to make certain places that will make them happy. Right now I'm planning to finish Skylands main island (the one with Pokemon Center), then move on to Rocky Ridge (want to make an apartment, and also make a road to the museum) or Bleak Beach (make a bit of an enclosure for lapras, and also more resort vibe areas throughout... And fixing the roads). Restoring S.S. Anne is also in the cards but that will take forever so later.
Like, so many things to do and just planning for the pokemon to stay in.
@OmnitronVariant I know, I just find it neat it's still possible even then. I will never do that, just tickles me funny.
But yeah, overall we just have different focus. I like it when the Pokemon lives in kinda like a habitat made for them... Like i made a cave in Bleak Beach for the zubat when they ask for a place with less light xD
