Unless those Pokémon need to have specific abilities like Build or Buldoze you can bring any Pokémon and it'll work

@JaxonH You need to just bring any extra 2 pokemon after you dropped the rest to the building area (they have to get those green checkmarks in the UI, then you back out, then you can bring more pokemon since the one following you previously is already being requested to help so they will stick around the building)
