Topic: Nintendo Switch 2 Predictions

We’ll have more to actually use our My Nintendo Platinum Points on, like use that for a little Switch 2 theme shop.

Unlikely to happen these days, but based on how the Japanese eShop will no longer allow foreign payments in March, are we potentially looking at Nintendo going back to region locking for Switch 2 or is it only a digital payment thing?

If it was me I'd be throwing in integrations with Nintendo Music. Just let NSO subs select a playlist that can run in the background

@skywake Like if I wanted to have Ebb and Flow (Splatoon) play in my menu similar to in my Splatoon 3 lobby, and then also add an Off the Hook theme to go with it.

Well it does look like Forza and Halo are indeed coming to Switch. Wouldn't be stunned now to see a large Microsoft Gaming presence on April 2nd

Xbox games being featured in the April Direct is likely, but I think it won't be more than a quick compilation trailer. Nintendo will want the focus to be on the console itself and their first party offerings.

@Haruki_NLI It still wasn’t confirmed if Forza is coming to Switch 2 even though PS5 is getting it in spring. Additionally Forza Horizon wouldn’t be playable on Switch 2 if it doesn’t have analog triggers unless Microsoft gets Xbox controllers to work on Switch 2 or makes a Switch 2 compatible controller (would have to be with Nintendo’s button layout and Switch 2 buttons tho).

@sheztephan Xbox might make a separate collab announcement with Nintendo for box games coming to Switch 2.

Maybe. If enough Xbox games will be ported over.
Rare Replay has to be one of them though, right?

With the possibility of Forza Horizon coming to the switch, I'm terrified Nintendo SILL has no plans to offer a switch 2 pro controller with analog triggers for racing games.

In the way they’ll set up the screen, will they put them side by side or in other ways similar to the Wii U’s DS Virtual Console (except for the one that puts the bottom screen on one screen and the top screen on another)?

I'd be down for that. All the wii channel themes are on Nintendo Music so I can just create my childhood bit by bit.

This is such an insanely good idea that I'm going to be disappointed if it doesn't happen now. Want your Switch 2 menu to have background music? Set your own with Nintendo Music. I would love that.

PERFECT DARK on Switch 2

This is the unused Switch eShop theme song, Nintendo could easily bring this back as the Switch 2 eShop theme.

@westman98 The extra resources on the OS should also be enough to support UI music.

In the case the Switch 2 still only has black and white themes despite having more resources to work with especially on the OS, they should at least rename them to Dark Mode and Light Mode.
