@Anti-Matter The MDE versions are also sold in Southeast Asia, which is why the green/blue/grey logo mentions Middle East and Southeast Asia.

MDE/Southeast Asian games initially had Nintendo of America styled barcodes, but once they chose to remove the ESRB rating, they started using their own barcodes made by Nintendo Co. Ltd.

The Southeast Asian covers still include Spanish somehow.

At minimum I’m happy we will be getting cod consistently on switch 2. There is still so much unknown it’s hard for me to say anything. Overall I hope we can get gta 6. That’s my big want and hope.

What are we expecting cost per game (AAA/Nintendo release) to look like on Switch 2? I could totally see games moving up to $69.99 since that is the industry norm these days, and I haven't seen any news/leaks/rumors about cost per game.

Recently finished: Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, Splatoon 3: Side Order, Donkey Kong Country Returns HD
Currently playing: Zelda: Skyward Sword HD

@mjharper I think for the bigger games it'll be $70, but it could very well be a case by case basis. Nintendo charged $60 dollars for DKC Returns HD and LM2 HD which was the same price as games like Mario Odyssey and Pikmin 4, so honestly majority of their games could very well be $70 on Switch 2.

Are we expecting the Switch 2 at the Super Bowl? Now that it's been officially revealed, I think they could show something at the Super Bowl to get as much attention on the console as possible. Probably little to nothing new, but it could be shown there!

Honestly, if Switch 2 is going to focus primarily on the graphical and performance boost, this would be the perfect time to revive/reference the "Now you're playing with power" campaign.

I’d change it to “Now you’re playing with SUPER POWER” as a nod to the SNES which was also an upgrade over the NES,

@PikminMarioKirby I think outside of maybe a tease at the investor meeting next week, Nintendo ends up being completely silent on Switch 2 until after Xenoblade releases. So like if there's a February Switch 1 Direct then Nintendo does the "There will be no mention of Nintendo Switch 2 during this presentation." warning.

@Grumblevolcano I agree there could be a bit of Q&A with the investor meeting. Hope to get some word on the specs, although I'm not counting on it.

For the February Direct there probably won't be Switch 2 games, but I could see them specifically saying that these games will be compatible on Switch 2.

@Novamii Yeah rumors have been floating about a February Direct for Switch 1, which seems really likely at this point with no upcoming Switch games with a release date aside from Xenoblade X remaster. A February shadow drop is looking likely, and probably a few Switch games scattered throughout this year. They can also show some Metroid Prime 4 there as well.

@Novamii I’m considering waiting until November to get a Switch 2 assuming it comes out this summer and I can get the money for it.

@Novamii I do think February general Direct will happen considering for it to be not worth it you'd need:
1. Prime 4 and Legends Z-A releases in June at the latest (e.g. Legends Z-A in May, Prime 4 in June)
2. Switch 2 launches with Prime 4 or Legends Z-A
3. Switch 1 gets no 1st party support post-Switch 2 launch

If all 3 are true you could easily get away with a February Partner Showcase and have random social media announcements for what little 1st party support is left.

I think point 1 is the least likely to happen, specifically about Legends Z-A as I think if it was to release before the normal November slot they'd pick August. Pokemon has 2 major news timings, February and August so by releasing Legends Z-A in August you'd be able to get around the August news cycle in a similar way to last year (mobile and TCG news saved for Worlds, no Pokemon Presents) hence meaning whatever the 2026 Pokemon game is you wouldn't need to announce until Pokemon Day 2026.

Any chance the Switch 2 will have a native 1080p screen along with being able to upscale to higher resolutions like 4K when in docked mode?

@PikminMarioKirby I really hope so. Fingers crossed. There will be close to 140 million viewers, it would be good for them to show something. If they just show a rehash of the reveal trailer I would be pissed.

Any chance we’ll see the Switch 2 bring back themes and UI music now that there will be more resources to work with?

Haruki_NLI

Unlikely. There's no practical value in it, they probably have the data to show not many used it, and do we want the eShop to already run worse than it currently does?

@Haruki_NLI Regardless we’re not gonna see exactly the same UI as the Switch. Probably something new with other improvements and new features but definitely not something like the Wii U UI.

As with themes I was referring to color themes the original Switch was gonna get but didn’t. I did say more resources because they can now have more space for the OS to improve UI performance and reintroduce color themes if they wanted, but it’s still unknown if the eShop will still be web-based or actually be an app.

Otherwise if the Switch 2 UI is still only gonna have Basic White and Basic Black, they should just rename them to Light Mode and Dark Mode.

I'm not sure about music, but I'm guessing they will add some level of themes. it would require very few resources if done correctly and would be a great tie-in to NSO or platinum point rewards.
