I've played both Rune Factory and Fantasy Life i.

Despite genre similarities they actually play much differently. Fantasy Life i is definitely a sequel to the 3DS entry. It's like Snack World but way better. The gameplay is the focus. Different jobs, fighting and leveling up. Whereas Rune Factory is more a split between adventuring with combat, and farming at the home town.

I like both. I think Rune Factory has a stronger story and characters (not that it's particularly great in that respect but it takes itself more seriously than FLi). I r3ally do like both of them though, and appreciate how they each offer a unique experience despite seeming more similar looking from the outside.

I do recommend Fantasy Life i. It's really fun and SUPER addictive. That's one aspect where Rune Factory just can't compete... addictiveness.

Ya know, you can add me on NS2 if you want (we may already be friends but Idk cause people rarely use the same names as on here). I'd play some Fantasy Life i online with you on occasion as it allows up to 4p online co-op. Among other games (maybe I can entice you to play Split Fiction some day!)

I wonder with GTA6 delayed to November if MH Stories 3 will be moved to early Summer. Capcom's lineup is so concentrated in that February - April window that it feels like some of them will get overshadowed.

It's possible one or more gets overshadowed but I'm not expecting any delays.

After all, Resident Evil Requiem is a mass appeal game. It won't have any issues, particularly with Switch 2 owners as Nintendo fans have long supported and liked RE games. The inclusion of gyro aiming and simultaneous release of RE7 and RE Village with a good $90 triple pack value will spotlight it even more, not to mention the Grace Ashcroft amiibo.

As for Monster Hunter Stories 3 and Pragmata, these are more niche games that depend on gamers like us who buy far more than 2 games/yr. And they're both very different genres. Monster Hunter Stories 3 appeals to prior MH Stories fans, Monster Hunter mainline fans, and hopefully, Pokemon fans (I'm sorry Poke fans, but MH Stories is just better).

Pragmata is the one that's most likely to be overshadowed, however, this game looks good and will have a demo, as well as a Diana amiibo. I think if people play the Sketchbook demo like I did (preferably twice, as I really started getting the knack for back-dodging while hacking if the AI enemies got too close), they'll realize how unique it is and how no other game engages left and right hemispheres of your brain simultaneously.

There's Dragon Age VII Reimagined, Yakuza Kiwami 3: Dark Ties and Tales of Berseria in February but I don't think they'll draw sales away from Resident Evil. I suspect Dragon Age and Resident Evil will be the focus for most.

In March there's Pokopia and a MegaMan Star Force collection (eh), and while Pokopia will surely be a hit, I still think MH Stories 3 will shine. 007 First Light got pushed back to May.

In April there's literally nothing else besides Pragmata, though I imagine we'll get some other games slotted in between now and then. But still, the game will have that demo and amiibo and people are always droning on about new IP- well, here's a brand new AAA experience from the top 3rd party developer in the industry.

Stardew Valley NS2 Edition out Christmas Day, free upgrade. Mouse controls added, split-screen co-op, all that jazz.

Still can't touch Fantasy Life i though, imo.

Hi everyone, I'm going on vacation in April and I've been thinking of bringing my Switch 2 with me. Any good carrying cases you guys would recommend, or did Nintendo Life make a guide of Switch 2 carrying cases/accessories? I do want to get a good microSD Express card as well before I go. I've also installed a screen protector a while back. Thanks in advance and I hope you all have a lovely Christmas/holiday!

My recommendation may not suit you because I have a magnetic ring adhered to the back of my NS2 and a Genki portable magnetic battery that snaps on magnetically for 6+ hrs playtime. So I use a case that has a compartment which just barely fits the Genki portable magnetic battery, an official Charge Grip (so I can use a Pro Controller in tabletop mode with GL/GR Rear Grip buttons), an official charger and 5 foot USB-C cable, and Joycon rail attachments. And, I have the Jsaux Joycon grips attached which adds a bit of width and depth, and this case (originally designed for Steamdeck) fits it perfectly with those grips on.

Figure if you gotta carry in a case with handle anyways, may as well get one that can carry the accessories needed to enjoy proper battery life, the ability to recharge from an outlet if needed and an actual Grip to use as a Pro Controller complete with GL/GR buttons.

It's a Jsaux Case. Think the one I have is discontinued but I've seen a newer model which seems like it would work just as well.

I haven't tried this one but I can confirm the previous model case for Steamdeck is a perfect fit for Switch 2 with Jsaux Joycon Grips attached, so I'm 99% sure this would be too. Certainly would work without Joycon Grips on.

@JaxonH Thanks! And thanks for the recommendation as well. But yeah, I'm not sure if this case would suit me, since I don't have that magnetic ring and portable battery you mentioned. I would just play in handheld mode when I'm in the plane, and maybe I would bring in my dock and a couple controllers as well. (I have a little cousin who likes games, too.) I would definitely bring my charger with me, and I also have a My Nintendo game card case that holds up to eight games.

i'm not sure exactly when this happened but stardew valley switch 2 edition is up they just put it up today wowza!!!

You mean the official dock, or one of those miniature Outlet Docks that just need HDMI and USB-C cable?

If the former there's a really nice case to fit the official dock. If the latter, you'll still want a cubby with enough space for the mini dock, official charger and cable, HDMI cable, and maybe a Charge Grip (or regular stock Grip). In which case, something like this would be perfect:

@JaxonH I did mean the official dock, yes. Thanks a bunch! Both options look great to me, and they both look sturdy and compact. They're both licensed by Nintendo themselves, too. I do want to get the one that carries the dock, though I do wonder if they would let me bring that as my personal item... since I would want to play games during my plane trip. If they don't let me, I guess I could just get that first one you showed, or I could have my 3DS as a personal item, lol. Thanks again!

I'd say get the smaller one that can fit a Pro Controller or Charge Grip, and pack the dock with the luggage. Cause do you really need the dock with you on an airplane?

More good news for Switch 2 owners. Expect Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order and Star Wars Jedi: Survivor on NS2, almost certainly in 2026, maybe 2027 for the latter.

And expect the KOTOR remake, and expect their new announcement from The Game Awards. After the success of Switch now being the best selling console of all time, and Switch 2 having the power to actually run these games if optimized properly, Disney is falling in line similar to what we see with Ubisoft, Capcom, Square Enix, etc.
