Id buy em again if they were NSW2 Editions but I wouldn't play them again. What I would recommend instead is every RPG gamer get into the Trails series. People talk about Persona and Xenoblade like it's the best JRPGs ever, but Id rank Trails right up there with them if not above them. And we have nearly ten different games in the series to dive into. With Falcom remaking the original trilogy which the first entry has a 7+ hour demo that transfers to the main game. And its possibly the best battle system of any JRPG I've played in my entire life. It's absolute fire. Real time combat but you can press Y to go into semi turn based at any time, and if you stun an enemy first and then do it, you get an advantage. Stats like speed and how long it takes to cast a spell/art will affect the order of who attacks next, but you can freely move around on your turn to target various enemies, or as many as possible. Since some attacks are in a straight line, so you try to position yourself in such a way that the straight line passes through three or four enemies, or a circular AOE attack, and you position to hit as many as possible. Plus there's seven different elements.All with strengths and weaknesses for different monsters, not to mention your craft arts and building up CP taking and dealing damage, with your ultimate that uses all your CP, theres follow ups and chain attacks similar to Persona, theres overdrive like in Xenoblade... it's so easy for a beginner to jump in and play.But the skill ceiling is through the roof for those core gamers that really want to master the strategy.
And the game respects your time- it's not an easy game. Even on normal difficulty, I died several times in fights. But when you do, you get to start the fight over again right away? And even asks you if you'd like to fight the enemy again but with them being a bit weaker... so you're never going to be stuck or feel you have to leave to grind and come back.
And since they are remaking the entire trilogy, you get the whole story. Then the Crossbell duology is already on Switch with Trails From Zero and Trails To Azure. The 4 part collection of Cold Steel games is also all on Switch, though 1 and 2 are JP exclusive. But I skipped those and jumped right into the third and I was perfectly fine, especially since the main menu provides you with a very thorough backstory of the events which occurred in the prior two games.
Then Trails Into Reverie ties those 4 Cold Steel games and Crossbell into a nice bow, and a new arc begins with Trails Through Daybreak 1 and 2. And we have Trails Into the Horizon on the way.
But just playing the original Sky trilogy- that's all people need to worry about right now. By the time you finish those games, you will be so in love with the series, I won't have to convince you to play the rest of them. You'll do it on your own accord. Heck, Just playing the demo for Trails In The Sky 1st Remake will hook you in the series. Its that good.
And I adore Persona. I've been waiting for the NSW2 version of Persona 3 Reload since BEFORE Switch 2 was announced. But Trails in the Sky... its better.

Yea, for me, the Trails world pulled me in immediately. Xenoblade just never really appealed to me, and I've tried a few of the games. Trails just has that more classic steam punk vibe to it whereas Xenoblade goes pretty full scifi.
FYI Sega says there WILL be a $10 upgrade for Sonic Racing Crossworlds NSW2 Ed. So you can safely buy on NSW1 and upgrade in a couple months (December) when the NSW2 version drops. A new single player demo is out now and its terrific. The physical NSW2 version is 2026 and all on cart btw.
@rallydefault
Nice! So have you been playing the demo?
It looks and runs fantastic on NSW2. There's a report that the NSW2 version doesn't hold 60fps but it advertises 4k 30 or 1080 60, so maybe there's an update on day one for it. Showed its visually superior but load times are actually fastest with the NSW1 version running on NSW2. Running on NSW1 its slooooow and the NSW2 Edition is fast but a second or two slower than the NSW1 edition on NSW2, probably because its loading much larger texture files.
Im gonna hold off upgrading to the NSW2 Edition until I know whether its getting a day one update to offer that 4k 30 or 1080p 60 (the early copy had no options to choose from).
Just an FYI. Id honestly be happy with this version on NSW2 though. I think it looks great and certainly runs excellent.
@rallydefault
Another report came in saying the NSW2 version is terrific so who knows. For $1 I'm biting. I can always hit + x5 on the upgrade page to revert back to the NSW1 version if needed. Which honestly does look excellent already, runs great and has lightning fast load times. But we'll see. Im downloading it now.

FYI, Towa and the Guardians of the Sacred Tree is a phenomenal game. It's looks sharp as a tack, even as a NSW1 game on NSW2 (seems devs are really learning how to program for Switch these days), it runs flawlessly and, tbh, I like it more than Hades. Ya I said it. It's more forgiving and yet combat feels more complex at the same time.
I can't recommend this game enough. There's a demo- DO NOT SLEEP ON THIS DEMO!! It costs you nothing, after all...

Oh! Pretty surprising on that side, I find the gameplay more fiddly on Towa than Hades. Feels like there's too much... movement? not sure. But I didn't really enjoy it, plus the smithing isn't as fun as I thought it would be a bit unfortunate that.
On forgivingness, I do like Hades' god mode a lot, which helps to make me able to face tank more things haha.
@darkfenrir
I love dashing to get out of the way of attacks- mobility is freedom. But I particularly like how your weapon A will dull and you'll need to swap to weapon B, though you can just swap back to A afterward if desired. Then having the offense spell and protection spell, and pressing Y when the gage builds up for a super strong attack (speaking of which you can hold the spell button up to 4 levels before releasing).
Idk. It gelled with me in a way that Hades did not. The art style may have had something to do with that also. But i'm going to give Hades II a fair shot. It's already preloaded.

@JaxonH ah! Makes sense. Yeah I like a lot of the choices but there's too many niggling issues (?) for me. I might give it another shake whenever this goes on big sale (since bamco do give sales pretty often once a few years have passed).
For now I have to save up some money to stock up on eshop gift card again
10% back so first $50 card you pay $50 but next one you get $5 off, paying $45 and earning $4.50 back. From then on youll pay $45.50 for every $50 card. Essentially 9% off even though it says 10% (cause you don't get money back on the portion discounted). Still, topping up $250 only costs around $225 which adds up!

@JaxonH Believe me, I would have used that site if I can, but even after paying 4 bucks for US phone number (the site is only for american), and using vpn, I found my account being deactivated before I can even buy any gift cards haha. So I'll just wait for like, discounts at play asia again, they do 5% at times
Joycon 2 on eBay for $64.99 + $7.85 shipping. Total is still less than $73! That's like a $27 discount as they're brand new from a well established seller with 99.7% feedback rating.
Additional $5 off if you pay using Venmo! So $67.85!
Just search Switch 2 Joycon and sort by Lowest Price. You'll see em.

Oh dang. I know the struggles back when I was trying to.Import from certain countries and I would sign up for a forwarding address (UK and Canada for some reason I could NEVER get it to work without paying an arm and a leg... Japan? No problem. France? No problem... you'd think Canada being our neighbors would be easy to order from but nope, not unless its an eBay or Etsy seller- the Walmarts, BestBuys, Gamestops, etc won't ship to the US).
I'm honestly occasionally looked at cdkeys as well (it definitely is pretty cheap there) but I'm never certain if it will be safe or not haha. Have been seeing a few posting about how there might be issues, which is... Rare, but it happened.
@darkfenrir
Do you have a US Nintendo Account? If so, Newegg.com often sells $50 eShop codes for $45 with a 10% discount code, good for up to 3 of them in a purchase. All you need for that is to sign up at their website with a username and email.
I can try to tag you next time I see the deal. Its how I always used to get mine before I found raise had 3rd party sellers doing 13-14% off ( but that comes with its own troubles... For example today I purchased x10 $20 cards from one person at 13.4% off and 8 worked but the last 2 didn't, so I had to file a report with raise to get refunded- its happened once before so it comes with the territory of getting such steep discounts but still, annoying)

@JaxonH I do, and I wished I could take advantage of newegg but they didn't accept paypal for gift card sales, which sucks. Especially since using my debit card means it's way more expensive...
@JaxonH regarding your Joycon comment - have you found success with the Mobapad attachments? I have yet to pick those up, wondering if you think it is worth it vs waiting for the SW2 Mobapad option?
I ordered 3 kinds. 2 from Etsy homemade and 1 official Mobapad. 1 from Etsy the magnets weren't strong enough, and the controllers would tend to come off due to the rotational force I would apply when holding in handheld mode.
The 2nd from Etsy has much stronger magnetic force and works perfectly. I have yet to receive the official ones.But those actually have a release like Joycon 2 so I imagine the magnets are super strong. So I'd feel safe ordering them, especially since someone on Etsy was able to do it properly. Just remember it cant wake your NSW2 (only NSW1). Which isn't a big deal in handheld mode but, I still try out of habit.
Tbh I got the Jsaux grips and tend to just use those on official Joycon 2, with the Mobapad as backup in case I want a D-pad or rear buttons in handheld.
I took the non-charging Joycon grip included with the system, used an exacto knife to pry off the 4 round rubber pegs, then used a small tipped Phillips head screwdriver to take the wings off so that the Joycon 2 in the Jsaux grip could form a pro controller. Can also do so for Mobapad with attachments but i already took the wings off a NSW1 grip so I can just use that without even needing the attachments if I want to make those into a pro controller.
