@JaxonH Oh yeah, you’re right. And I‘m pretty sure there are several more. I can hardly keep up, despite my (a bit naive) plans not to build up to much of a backlog this time around.
I wonder if that Fantasy Life i Switch 2 Edition physical has all of the update content on the cartridge... 🤔
If so, easy eventual purchase unless there are more content updates, if those happened, I would just get the game digitally when I had a gaming schedule gap.
My top 5 favorite games:
1: Pokémon Violet
2: Super Smash Bros. Ultimate
3: Animal Crossing New Horizons
4: Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope
5: The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom
@JaxonH thank you! I may just go the route of ordering from mobapad. Everything else you mentioned is a lot of work 🤣.
As to the launch lineup, it’s been pretty fantastic. Too many games to keep up with. After beating DK, I put a bunch of time into Cyberpunk (60+ hours and haven’t even started phantom liberty), 40+ into Silksong with lots more to do…and that’s not counting Hogwarts, SF6, MK for me. Probably the most well rounded set of launch games that appeals to me. Interested in Madden, Star Wars, grabbing Hades 2 in a few days…probably lots more.
So, Trails In The Sky 1st NSW2 Ed has a fluctuating framerate in docked mode. It looks sharp as a tack but performance is actually butter smooth playing the NSW1 version on NSW2. Shadows are low res and obviously the resolution isn't anywhere near 4k when docked but the performance tradeoff is worth it imo. I can spin the camera in the city and its just smooth the whole time. Even if 30fps its a super stable 30fps. The $1 upgrade should be avoided unless you dont mind it being a little framey.
If you already bought the upgrade, delete the game and icon, go to eShop and find the store page for JUST THE UPDATE, and press + 5 times. Then it won't redownload the update along with the game when you redownload from the virtual card menu.
I find the NSW1 version on NSW2 much more enjoyable despite the worse graphics because the performance is so rock solid and stable. And besides the low res shadows it still looks pretty good.
@rallydefault
If they patch the NSW2 version to lock the framerate I'll reinstall the upgrade. But until then I'm perfectly content playing the NSW1 version. Heck, that's what the demo was and I sunk hours into that no problem.

Honestly, if games like Cyberpunk 2077, SW Outlaws, and potentially even RE Requiem can run well and look good on Switch 2, I'd say the bar is set pretty high at this point for the sort of optimization work I expect third-parties to expend on their ports for the system.
Not surprised if Capcom makes a good showing, though. RER1 looked like a PS3 game on the 3DS, which was absolutely insane.
Currently Playing: Metroid Prime 4: Beyond (NS2); Corpse Factory (PC)
@Ralizah
And Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak was one of the best looking games on Switch. Their only issue is tending to not lock framerate at 30 when it isn't able to hold 60. All the RE games were uncapped, MH Stories and MH Stories 2 were uncapped. I hope they cap at 30 (cause I don't think 60 is on the table).

Alas, Borderlands 4 has been indefinitely delayed on Switch 2. Bummer, I was looking forward to seeing how disastrous the performance would be. We could've had our Switch 2 version of the 2018 Ark switch port.
I had to Google it to make sure... Borderlands 4 indefinitely delayed?! 🤯 Thank goodness I wasn't going to be playing that one, but dang, I do feel sorry for everyone who was looking forward to it.

Idk why anyone would be bummed about Borderlands 4 when it was clear the game wouldn't have been up to scratch. I think its fantastic they delayed it. Best news Ive heard yet. Yes, please delay games that would otherwise release in a sub-par state. Don't just ship em out and then complain about lack of sales.
The fact they're willing to push the game back shows their commitment to ensuring a better experience for Switch 2 gamers. Time will tell how it turns out but nothing good would have come by releasing it in its reported state.

It's only possible for people to complain about Switch 2 in so many threads at any given time.
@darkfenrir
I would be hyped about Hades 2 on Switch except that I already have it Early Access on Steam. So I'm currently debating whether I also get it on Switch so I can get 120Hz and the nicer docked experience as opposed to 60Hz docked, 90Hz portable on my Steam Deck. Currently leaning towards not getting it on Switch 2 and just living with the mild downgrades and inconveniences of the Deck
