@BonzoBanana
Same. Sonic Racing Transformed is one of my favorite racers of all time. But Team Racing was mediocre. I loved the dynamic tracks.
Keep in mind the Switch 2 version on cart is releasing later than the other versions.

Like they say- history doesnt repeat but it often rhymes. I see a lot of similarities between Switch 2 and GameCube, Switch 2 actually being a smash hit notwithstanding. Its more focused on power (still limited by being portable but for a handheld its extremely capable), they're experimenting again and bringing back franchises that became popular on GC like Metroid Prime 4 and Kirby Air Riders. There's also the GameCube on NSO.

@JaxonH I still have a bit of hope for the future of physical because of CrossWorlds. The gap between digital and physical release makes me think that SEGA started off as a Key Card for CrossWorlds but then changed to a proper physical version. If that's the case maybe the reported underperforming 3rd party sales, the prolonged Key Card backlash and the recent news about Macronix (cart manufacturer) are making 3rd parties reconsider.
I think the next general Direct will give a good idea of what's happening with physical.
Aside from the occasional collector's edition, I buy everything digitally.
But those limited editions better have the game on the cart or I'm not buying them.
Favorite game: Fire Emblem Engage
Favorite series: Xenoblade Chronicles
Favorite time-wasters: Nintendo Musou
Costs needs to go back to what the original Switch had but even then publishers didn't bother. The amount of code in box or partial downloads was insane all because they saw a 16GB card as too expensive.
Now Playing: Mario & Luigi Brothership, Sonic x Shadow Generations
Now Streaming: The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom
Anyone feel like the Switch 2's lineup so far is extremely similar to the Gamecube?
I said something similar in the walking zombie of a doom thread that's comparing Switch 2 to Wii U. It certainly does feel a bit GC-like in some respects, not in every sense obviously. But definitely in the sense that the "sell" is mostly on the spec jump and the software (at least to this point) is a bit more experimental, B-Team and mid-budget leaning
Also third party support. Wii through to earl Switch (and even Switch generally) big games skipped Nintendo. The GC era was the last time they had the kind of support they're seeing now

having a switch 2 is still a little surreal to me, ill be gaming and whatever, then just take a second to be like “im playing on the SWITCH TWO!”. the years of anticipation definitely was worth it. anyone else still not over the joy of having a brand new console?

@OctolingKing13 I'm mostly technically playing Switch 1 games on Switch 2 (besides Bananza which is great and would have been inconceivable on Switch 1) but occasionally I remember the agonizingly long loading times or the random graphical jank when I was playing the same or similar games on Switch 1. Plus the Switch 2 Pro Controller is just butter. Serious quality of life improvements.
Yea, I’m giving Echoes of Wisdom the time it deserves now that it runs like butter. What an amazing game, seriously, and it usually just gets lumped in with the other late releases like Showtime and Mario vs. DK.
But most of my time on Switch 2 so far has been with the exclusives, well over a hundred hours. Bananza is going to be a top game of the generation, but it’s also nice to see people cooling down and realizing what a fun game MK World is at its core. There is a deep foundation of gameplay there that can be added to for years.
You may know this already but figured I'd warn anyway that because of the change to Virtual Game Cards, you can't redownload delisted demos anymore if you delete them from your console. I downloaded the Mina the Hollower demo after the Indie World presentation and played through the demo but deleted once I finished the demo. Out of interest, I checked to see if I could redownload the demo after August 21st but turns out I can't.
It’s interesting how Jamboree TV is a paid “upgrade” and yet it doesn’t even upgrade the original Mario Party Jamboree for switch 2 at all. You’re basically paying for what would be a free content update on any other game.
@VoidofLight
To be fair, the Mario Party series has never been particularly consumer friendly. If anything I'm surprised that Jamboree TV wasn't a full priced standalone release given how they usually handle the series. Definitely the Switch 2 Edition to avoid

Considering how Super Mario Party added online 2 years in and the retro levels in Jamboree were almost certainly originally planned for DLC for Superstars, I wouldn't be surprised if they upgrade the main game but way too late.
@FishyS i agree with the smoothness of it all, im looking forward to trying the pro controller 2 when i get it!! 😝 @rallydefault echoes of wisdom is SO underrated, it deserved a goty nomination in my opinion. the whole concept is so magical. i agree, bananza is truly one of nintendos greatest titles in recent years.

@WaveBoy
Can't speak to Mario Party but the mouse mode is aces. Just using Nintendo's own attachment with the string cut is my usual method, because it allows for seamlessly switching to gyro or a normal controller as needed
I do have a very nice 3D printed attachment though that's fat enough you can actually rest your palm and use two fingers for the left/right click with a sweep out rest for the thumb, but the stock attachment is so low profile and doesnt impede switching I typically default to that
But an 8" x 10" firm mouse pad is a must own mandatory purchase for every Switch 2 owner. $10, and solves all the "but I cant do mouse mode on my leg or the sofa yada yada" issues people always bring up.
