Im enthralled with this system- even just as a "Switch Pro" that runs all my Switch 1 problem games in 60fps it's incredibly addictive. But DK Bonanza is one of the best games Ive played in the past 10 years. Better than Mario Odyssey, even. And Cyberpunk 2077 and Hogwarts Legacy look and run great- with gyro and mouse aiming they both have become personal faves of mine. Having intuitive aiming makes the games so much more fun.

There's too much to play for me- DK Bonanza takes up most of my time even though I want to go back to Cyberpunk and Hogwarts Legacy. Those are my top 3 games on Switch 2. But there's so much more.

Wild Hearts S which is perfect timing given my disappointment with MH Wilds. Rune Factory and Fantasy Life i have both been neglected because there's only so many games I can play.

Strongly recommend people check out Monster Hunter Stories 2. At a locked 60fps we can finally enjoy it how it was meant to be. And the first one is now locked to 60fps as well. Trials Rising finally being playable without framerate issues has gotten quite a bit of play too, especially with the GameCube controller's analog triggers. Finally fixing DQ Builders 2 in 60fps has been a long time coming.

Its crazy seeing Mario Rabbids Kingdom Battle jump to 60fps given it was locked to 30fps on Switch. But even games capped at 30fps its great seeing them all fixed. Batman Arkham Asylum and City, Triangle Strategy, Octopath Traveler 2, Crysis 1-3, all the Trails games, even MH Rise Sunbreak benefits on the new Sunbreak map and 4p multi-player. The NSW1 library is a goldmine on Switch 2.

Sure, and I clearly said I believe his complaints are real, but they do a bust-up job of piggybacking with all of the incessant whining around this place lately lol

@VoidofLight
I am sorry you’re having those visual issues. I have not had them, even after many hours of play.

@JaxonH I've been wanting to check out Stories 2- but I'm holding off until I beat Stories 1 first. Bought it while it was on sale soon after the partners direct. Might play it after I beat Octopath Traveler.

@VoidofLight
It's great. Unfortunately on NSW1 it had an uncapped framerate which could be pretty aggravating. The game itself is terrific. And timely given we have MH Stories 3 on the way now.

But MH Stories 1 is great too. I believe it got English voice acting for this recent release of it which makes it way more addictive. MH Stories 2 really built on MH Stories 1 though. And it's a great substitute for Pokémon, even though Scarlet/Violet got fixed and Z-A should run great on NSW2. I still think MHS is a better series.

@JaxonH
Wait, Mario Rabbids get 60 fps on Switch 2??
Does Spark of Hope also get 60 fps on Switch 2 ?

No good deed
Will I do
AGAIN...!!!

JaxonH

@Anti-Matter
Sparks of Hope is capped at 30fps but it does ensure the framerate stays locked at 30fps.

Kingdom Battle jumps to 60fps due to a double buffer technique similar to Zelda Link's Awakening. It could just never hit the 60fps target on Switch so it stayed at 30fps. On Switch 2 it always hits that target so it plays in 60fps.

Towa and the Guardians of the Sacred Tree demo is out, and the game is fantastic! It also looks really good on Switch 2, both docked and handheld. I was worried it being a NSW1 game it might be blurry but it's impressive. Hades level quality imo.

Definitely a day one buy.

I sold my old Switch to get money towards Switch 2, but brought a Switch Lite this week as I've found the Switch 2 WAY too big and heavy to take out with me (in truth I found the original Switch too big too for that as well - to me a handheld should fit in your pocket) and wow, the Switch 2 and Lite is such a nice combo! Switch 2 for the big 3D games and Switch Lite for the indies and pre-GameCube NSO titles.

So happy with both of them and aside from new Switch 2 games I feel like I'll have years worth of games to play just from older/backlog titles and stuff being added to NSO.

I have a question... if I buy a Switch 1 game and upgrade to the Switch 2 version would I be able to keep the Switch 1 version on my Switch Lite and have the Switch 2 version on my Switch 2 and would the save clouds still sync?

@JaxonH I couldn't believe it when I played Disaster Report 4 and found it runs in 60fps for much of the game. That ran like a literal slideshow on Switch 1! Still one of my favourite games though, highly recommend it if anyone wants something unique and very, very funny. I wonder what's happening with Disaster Report 5...

OmnitronVariant

@Suketoudara Yes you keep the Switch 1 version; the upgrade is a separate «virtual game card» you can only load on a Switch 2. At least this is the case foe BotW and TotK

@OmnitronVariant Oh awesome, thanks. I'm hoping Pacman World Re-Pac 2 will offer an upgrade path like Shadow Labyrinth as would be nice to play it that way.

I'm more of a Switch 2 + modded OLED person myself. The additional battery life is needed when overclocking. Plus the ability to dock and play tabletop with removable controllers is huge for me.

The Switch 2 is big, but I couldn't fit the OLED in my pocket either. I have a case with portable 10,000 mAh 38.5 Whr battery and stuck magnetic magsafe rings on the battery and back of Switch using a pair of A/B polarity rings. I can just snap that on the back and it only increases the weight by 160 grams accounting for the cable and all. And the case fits a joycon rail for mouse mode, so it definitely feels needed.

I do have the magnetic flip case for my Lite and love its pocketability. Good for games that run excellent on the base Switch- stuff like Paper Mario TTYD, Mario RPG, Metroid Dread and Prime Remastered, Mario Bros Wonder, Luigi's Mansion 2/3, DKC Returns and Tropical Freeze, etc.

@Suketoudara
I saw that game running at 60fps on YT. Impressive indeed.

Well, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle port announcement out of nowhere lol.

Yea, I love my Lite with the flip cover sooooo much. The thing is so tiny after I play my Switch 2 for awhile lol

Nintendo really does know what they’re doing when they call it the “Switch family” of systems. Every console kind of has its place.

Indiana Jones finally announced. Bout time Xbox starts announcing some Switch 2 releases. Word is Starfield is also coming. And we know Call of Duty has to come (though it may not start until 2026). That's what's up. Don't care too much about the new Doom. Doesn't seem as good as prior entries, but I'll still take it if it gets announced. Indiana Jones was the big one I wanted alongside Call of Duty and Halo. Which I'm sure Halo will also come in due course.

BTW nobody mentioned Toaplan Arcade Collection Vol. 1 and 2 released. Essentially covers all their classics with rewind and save states, fast forward and slow down... absolutely clutch for playing Truxton. Otherwise that game is way too hard for me. But I played for 40 min straight last night thanks to rewind helping me correct mistakes.

Forget all those $40 individual releases like Tiger Heli and Flying Shark- I love M2 but for $70 total I just got their entire classic collection with more accessibility features than M2 offered. And it feels responsive.

I’m actually pretty stoked for the Outlaws remake. That game was so much fun on PC back in the day. I think it’s a must-play for any FPS fan.

Daemon X Machina demo is out and it's great. No gyro aiming but thats because all the buttons are mapped to different weapon slots. Lock on basically makes it unnecessary. It's good though. Highly recommend checking out the demo.

@rallydefault
I thought you were referring to Star Wars Outlaws at first. Which Im actually optimistic for. All the criticism has been "but no light sabers, doesnt feel like Star Wars" and I think ya, but Rogue One and Solo weren't focused on light sabers and they're some of my faves. If its a good port Im in.

Idk about that Outlaws Remake though. Is that the Lucasfilm game?

Between Air Ride and Gamescom announcements, as expected, the space that people who seek to talk down Switch 2 can occupy continues to shrink

I'm sure there will continue to be straws they'll pull from the cracks in the carseat to grasp until the heat death of the universe. As always happens. But platforms that sell attract developers, developers make games and games are what we want. Switch 2 is definitely selling so games it will get. So the window of doom will continue to shrink as it always was going to
