Topic: Next Nintendo Direct?

Having the Mario movie direct separate from MAR10 presentation worries me that there will be basically nothing the next day (MAR 10 would just have a Yoshi release date ). They have separated presentations but usually there are are multiple weeks between not a day.

@RobLife1 The movie Direct is on Mar10 in Japan, just as the first movie's Direct was a few years ago.

I don't believe we've ever had a Mar10 Direct outside of the movie Directs? So I would prepare to be disappointed tbh.

@Buizel It has slowly increased in depth the last few years.

It seems like they are trying to move away from big directs in favor of small ones and Nintendo today announcement which is disappointing

Yeah, the Movie Direct is your MAR10 Direct, we're not getting anything related to games clearly. Looking more and more like we're nowhere close to getting the major game announcements we need right now.

This too. Like I said, this 2-3 month drip feed marketing is really co-dependent and likely contributing to the toxicity in the fandom right now. Having fans hanging onto their every word waiting for that big tentpole game announcement only to peddle smaller IPs few people care about or non-gaming merch crap is not a healthy dynamic and one we should be calling out.

I kind of get the feeling the week beginning March 16th may have a Partner Showcase. In the Capcom event yesterday, they said "We're excited to share more information in the coming days" at the end of the Onimusha Way of the Sword trailer.

Considering how much Capcom has supported Switch 2 so far, I think the tease could be a Switch 2 version. Such a version would likely announced in a Nintendo event however Nintendo has enough already announced 1st party stuff that they can easily wait until June for a general Direct so Partner Showcase feels more likely.
