Topic: Next Nintendo Direct?

@SKYWAKE yes! I have been suggesting a Switch Sports upgrade! I even have a few ideas for new sports using Mouse Controls! The main one is Foosball — Use Mouse mode to slide the sticks, then hit ZL or ZR to flick! The biggest possible issue is just… well… Nintendo Switch Sports: Nintendo Switch 2 Edition is rather clunky lol!

For some stupid reason, I actually thought this was funny.

So Legends Z-A is Mario Kart World's replacement over the holiday season as the Switch 2 + game bundle. I think this leans more in the direction of @IceClimbers' theory of next week being Partner Showcase followed by Prime 4 Direct in early August. There's no big unannounced 1st party game so they split the announcements up like they did in 2022.

I believe Nintendo will announce the Metroid Prime 4 date before its earnings release on August 1st.

-rhythm heaven trailer and release date for january
-tamagatchi life sneak peak, no release date
-Pikmin 4 and Mario Wonder Switch 2 Editions (probably with dlc stories, i think a 2d rosalina adventure in wonder would complete the game really well. idk abt pikmin tho) and release dates for october and december
-Third party release dates and trailers for elden ring, assasins creed, call of duty, death stranding 1, duskbloods, something disney, expedition 33, hades 2)
-no silksong
-prime 4 trailer and release date for august
-bananza characters and carts (banana and minecart PLEASE) update in MKW
-either a glimpse of mario maker 3, or something for mario 40. it seems so suspicious they havent been doing much
-classics update
-no splatoon raiders, i doubt more info will be unveiled until at least november
-animal crossing for 2026 teaser
so much of this is dreams, but all will be revealed soon i guess!

Pretty solid predictions, each thing has good chance of happening, like no Silksong. Even though I would save Air Riders for one of the ending parts than the start. I also would love a Mario Wonder Switch 2 Edition. It gives me a reason to play the game again. Again, really solid and nice predictions!!! I really hope a Nintendo Direct is soon.

Do you think that there will be only one Direct for the rest of the year, or two. I think if they do two, there could be one in July or August, then have one in November? Also, have I missed the Kirby and Forgotten Land Switch 2 Edition Overview Trailer or has that not been uploaded?

@ParrakerriRush I'm still thinking that we get one before the end of this month, and one in Sep for Mario's 40th. This is my hope, at least.

Ah, yeah. I forgot about Mario 40th. I think they might not reveal a new 3D Mario cause they have DK Bananza. With that out of the equation, I'm not really sure what they can do. The Mario RPG's are still fairly new and it would be odd if they have another one. The Mario Sports could be there, since Battle League was in 2021. Maybe Switch 2 Edition of Wonder?

@ParrakerriRush Wonder S2E, new Sports title, MKWorld DLC, and a new Spinoff are my guesses. Maybe a Mario 35 revival?

I really hope the inevitable Mario kart world DK Bananza DLC includes some new tracks with the characters and costumes. Feels like you could base some really cool tracks off of Bananza.

I hope they announce some more free Switch 2 updates for first party Switch 1 games on the next Direct, I would like to see Metroid and KIrby games (excluding Forgotten Land for obvious reasons) run at a higher resolution, maybe even give Kirby Star Allies a 60 FPS boost
And even though I don't play those games I feel like Xenoblade games should get Switch 2 updates for resolution and frame rate because they really need them

given how rare it is for Mario Kart to have tracks based on mainline Mario games having tracks based on Bananza seems even more unlikely

@CaleBoi25 Yeah, I would like to see an actually good Mario Strikers after the release Battle League. Battle League was very underwhelming and I would like to see how the Switch 2 can improve the Strikers Series. A Wonder Switch 2 edition seems very likely, seeing how Wonder sold lots and the game was quite short. Mario Kart World DLC seems a little too early for me, but I would gladly enjoy it. I'm guessing more costumes for DK and Pauline and more added characters, like Diddy Kong, Dixie and Cranky, but this sounds too good to be true. As much as I would like a DK Bananza and Mario Kart World Crossover, I think it seems unlikely. I'm not sure what they can do for a spin-off. Maybe we will get the First Person Shooter Mario we've been all asking for! Also maybe make Mario 35, or Mario 40 have different games. It was boring to be stuck in only SMB. Also, Mario Maker 3 would be interesting, which I would definitely see coming.

I thought DK Bananza content for Mario Kart World made a lot of sense early on to promote DK Bananza but Nintendo's still treating Mario Kart World's Rainbow Road as a secret like the NSO icons has every GP track except Rainbow Road. Maybe the first post-launch support of World is something else and then it gets DK Bananza content announced in like 2026?

A full Direct seems a little odd at the current time to me, though obviously the golden rule is to not try and predict what Nintendo are going to do! I feel as though Nintendo have enough already announced 1st party games to last then until Christmas, (Pokémon, Kirby, Hyrule Warriors, Metroid Prime 4). They could have a Direct with release dates announced for them and more footage and maybe a one last thing teaser for a unannounced big hitter 2026 release. But that would seem a little underwhelming if the majority is already announced stuff. And is there a big need to hype up Switch 2 sales yet when it can still be a challenge to buy in some territories?

To me, if there is an incoming Direct, a Partner Showcase would seem much more sensible, let 3rd parties have the spotlight for their new releases, then around September time when we're gearing up for Christmas period sales hit everyone with announcements all the 1st party release for the first half of 2026. Driving hype for the console for Christmas shoppers.

@Coversnail Age of Imprisonment would fit in a Partner Showcase considering Age of Calamity was in the October 2020 one. There's a chance that Kirby would also fit considering Part Time UFO (HAL Laboratory game published by Nintendo) was in the October 2020 one.

The odd one out is Prime 4 but that could get a Direct of its own.
