@Sigran102 we are still in february, everyone know Nintendo never reveal it entire line up just in a single go, they do that trough waves on the Nintendo Directs, many trought only Tears of the Kingdom for 2023? and yet we got Pikimin 4 e Super Mario bros wonder.
It's true, Endless Ocean is a Nintendo property, they filed the trademark. But then why cram it into a Partner Direct? I swear, Nintendo can't follow their own rules sometimes, lol.
Nintendo Directs are literally marketing so there really aren't any rules to follow. What a Direct is called and what they do and don't include in it is purely about what can we put where to sell more things. That's all it is
Is Endless Ocean a "partner" title? Not really. Was it better to announce it alongside third party titles rather than putting it next to something Wind Waker HD or Metroid Prime 2 Remastered? Or even just further footage of TTYD or something? Probably. And certainly not alongside a Switch 2 reveal or similar
Or, more likely, there won't be another Direct before this thing comes out. Or at the very least not one that's not about Switch 2. An Endless Ocean game? not really enough to warrant its own Direct.... so they jammed it at the end of the Partner Direct
@skywake Alternatively, there can be a Direct sometime before the release of Endless Ocean that further promotes it and elaborates on the fairly minimal reveal trailer. Not so sure about those rumors of one planned for April, but it really just seems like it was a game that needed to be revealed, and Nintendo was able to plop it into a Partner Showcase with the excuse that it's also credited to Arika
@PikaPhantom
Maybe, but the pattern over the last few years for Directs is along the lines of:
Feb: General Direct + Pokemon Presents
April/May: Indie World
Jun: General Direct
Aug: Pokemon Presents
Sep: General Direct
Nov: Indie World
Of course this year is different because "Switch 2" is on the horizon. But even so, usually we wouldn't hear anything from Nintendo outside of Indie Directs and random youtube drops. In a typical year this last Direct would've been the last time to mention this game. Do they break that pattern for "Switch 2"? ... maybe.... but if they break that pattern for "Switch 2" it'll be to talk Switch 2. Makes far more sense to slide Endless Ocean into a Partner Direct than it does to slide it into a Switch 2 reveal

An opinion is only respectable if it can be defended. Respect people, not opinions
@skywake I think what we’re seeing is a side effect of old plans to release Switch 2 in 2024. With the console seemingly delayed to 2025 some things will have changed but some had to stay the same because of more immediate 3rd party agreements to have presence in a Direct (e.g. Pentiment being a shadow drop).
Regarding Endless Ocean, it has a physical version so it needed a reveal by early March and it fits in a Partner Showcase the same way something like Age of Calamity did.

I'm super hyped for tomorrow. All tpc did last year was gen 9 dlc, so they must have a lot cooking. I'm hoping for Unova or Johto remakes, but most of all I want a new legends game.
I sort of forgot about the pokemon presents. Either a legends sequel like others have said or the red/blue/yellow games dropping on NSO. I'd probably buy again if they went straight to the eshop though. Never got far in blue.
Honestly I'd rather the GBA games on NSO. I've only played through I believe it was Ruby once and that was on an emulator on PC almost 20 years ago now. I have a little Anbernic portable I could play them on now and GB(C) works brilliantly on it. I recently played through Crystal again on it.... but the GBA doesn't scale nicely into 480p and is basically the only system that I don't really want to play on it
But on Switch? We have a 720p screen. Pixels to spare, so GBA looks great
More confirmation of Switch 2 this year. No way does pokemon just not have any games in 2024. They just can't reveal it until the new system is announced.
Also mega hyped for Legends Z! It's exactly what I wanted!

Or it was set to launch with Switch 2 and therefore got delayed to 2025 when Switch 2 did.
