@Fizza Because they are saving it for the MAIN direct, when that is I dunno...

Space and Games are similar. Space is endless and new stuff is out there waiting to be discovered. Games are always being made but the creativity is different from one game to another and so many more ideas still haven't been imagined or created yet. (That came out better than expected lol)

Overall I thought it was a fairly solid Partner Showcase. Not as good as the June 2022 one, but still good.

Star Wars Battlefront Classic Collection made the Direct for me. Battlefront 2 is one of my favorite games of all time, so I'm beyond hyped for this.

The Epic Mickey remake was a nice surprise, and I'm excited for the new Endless Ocean and Super Monkey Ball games

@BrazillianCara Considering the presence of a Switch-exclusive shirt in the files alongside the PS5 one and reports from outlets like The Verge saying it was coming to Switch Q1 2024, it's not out of the question the port was internally delayed. (And no, the peace sign can't be taken as a sign of the shirt being meant for a Switch successor because we don't even know if it's going to be called the Switch 2.) I wouldn't hold my breath, but it's not a given it's skipping Switch for the successor, or outright skipping Nintendo platforms.

As an aside, it is pretty frustrating that no one who reported it'd be coming to Switch has said anything regarding its apparent absence yet - or the one or two people who said it was cancelled for Switch.

The only thing that took my interest in that Direct was the Star Wars Battlefront games. I’ll be getting Hi Fi Rush on the PS5 since it’s not currently announced for the Switch.

World of Goo 2 was the big one for me. I loved the first game on the Wii and it's been a very long wait for a follow-up.

Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengence looks interesting. The story of the original game was a bit thin, to put it mildly, so there's certainly room for a lot of fleshing out. With Atlus being Atlus, there'll presumably be no upgrade path or even a way to import your old save file though. Ah well, it's coming to PC too, so I'll probably pick it up there if I'm going to have to start from scratch.

Anyway, having predicted Grounded, Pentiment and Fantasy Life (as well as Hi-Fi Rush not being announced) I suppose I can now join the ranks of the "insiders". Yes, it was just educated guesswork on my part, but that's about all it is with those other guys too.

I'm very excited for Fantasy Life, but I for some reason remember it being slated for summer? A bit of a bummer but I'm very hyped for this game.

Also Another Crab's Treasure looks absolutely fantastic I'm suprise there aren't more poeple talking about it. I mean it's not necessarily new but I had completely forgotten that game existed so I'm glad for the reminder. (Though I kind of hope the voice acting is limited, optional, or available in other languages)

Can I do a completionist run of video game history? (It's still being made so we'll see)

World of Goo 2 was a nice surprise. Pepper Grinder looked like a solid release also. And obviously the NSO was the standout. Honestly better than I expected overall but my expectations were fairly low

Also Endless Ocean.... did anyone else think it looked a bit jank? Hopefully there's a fair bit more to do before it's released. I was far more interested in it when it was leaked yesterday than I am after seeing the trailer

I always thought that the original Endless Ocean flattered to deceive a bit. Yes, it had lots of marine life but it wasn't really endless until right at the end, more a succession of gated-off areas. Also, petting fish felt a bit off to me. As someone who has done a fair bit of snorkeling, the rule is that you look but don't touch.

Also, Subnautica scratches that itch for me these days.

I was hoping Penny would get a demo.

Overall, ok direct, not thrilling. fantasy life i, pepper grinder, and Penny we already knew about but I'm still interested in those.

I'm hoping the new Monkey Ball is good; the battle royale modes looked entertaining.

Ender Magnolia surprised me; I enjoyed the first game.

The existence of Suika Game DLC just entertains me. My dream of Suika 99 is one step closer to reality 😝

Even with my ultra low expectations going in, I'd still say this was pretty abysmal for me. no disrespect to anyone who enjoyed it. But, it sort of sums it up when you close on a game like endless ocean. Again, I don't mean this in a disrespectful way. It's just not a closing game. March has a couple games for me, but not sure what else until LM2 and TTYD drop. No problem I guess, I have a bit in my backlog anyway.

Was great for me - Especially Endless Oceans, but also Epic Mickey, Fantasy Life, Penny, Arranger, World of Goo 2, Monkey Ball, Pepper Grinder, Pocket Jockey, Snufkin and maybe Pentiment

There was a surprising amount of games I recognized which made the presentation feel impactful for a hardcore first party fella such as myself, but I guess a lot of them were just ports and remasters of things already on Nintendo hardware. The thing that won me over though (and the only game shown I’ll actually play) was MONKEY BALL!!! The announcement of a brand new game was very surprising and likely would have been the highlight for me personally even if there was first party stuff shown.

It was solid for a partner direct. I'm super excited for Star Wars Battlefront and Fantasy Life. But considering they showed games all the way out to October, I think it's safe to assume that Peach, LM2, and Ttyd are it for first party on the switch this year. That only makes sense if we're getting the next system this year with some big new releases for the holiday season.

Over 24 hours since the partner direct and I feel like with all directs, you will be more positive or negative about it depending on what piqued your interest. Personally, having low expectations helped me avoid the inevitable disappointment partner directs usually bring, because a lot of the games just aren’t interesting or up my alley. However, the Epic Mickey remake looks sick, Endless Ocean does look like it did on the Wii, but it’s still a cool looking game, Monkey ball looked fun, and I finally get to play pocket jockey! Overall, it was expectedly mediocre, but there were a few pretty solid announcements in there too

@Sigran102 Not sure how Fantasy Life releasing in October means anything in regards to what games Nintendo has for this year, especially when they announced a new 1st party game in the Direct with Endless Ocean.

@IceClimbers

Endless Ocean is published by Nintendo, but not Nintendo developed. Like how Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is a Switch exclusive, yet it's a Bamco-developed game. Or how Luigi's Mansion 3 was a Next Level Games Switch exclusive, released before Nintendo bought NLG and brought them in-house. Just say "console exclusive" rather than "1st party", that'll clear up some of the confusion.

Because Fantasy Life i is console exclusive to the Switch.

@Magician There's no confusion here. Endless Ocean may not be Nintendo developed, but they own the IP. Same as Paper Mario TTYD, or Fire Emblem Engage, Kirby and the Forgotten Land, etc.

Fantasy Life i is a Level 5 owned, published, and developed game. It's completely 3rd party, and it being Switch exclusive has no bearing on what Nintendo published titles they have this year, nor does the fact that it launches in October.

It's true, Endless Ocean is a Nintendo property, they filed the trademark.

But then why cram it into a Partner Direct?

I swear, Nintendo can't follow their own rules sometimes, lol.
