Topic: Next Nintendo Direct?

If there’s nothing soon then I guess it’ll be next week for the Direct

3pm UK time has passed so there's no Direct tomorrow.

@Croctopus Sometimes they announce Directs at 9am eastern, other times it's at 10am eastern. There's not really a pattern of which they choose.

Yeah, I was keeping an eye on the Nintendo UK/America Twitter accounts for a scheduled tweet, but nothing popped up.
I doubt there'll be a Direct this week, but I wouldn't completely rule out an announcement tomorrow for a Thursday direct.

@Grumblevolcano I wouldn't count that out just yet. As I said before, last two February Directs were in the 5pm Eastern slot, so it's still possible for an announcement to happen at that time today for a 5pm Eastern airing tomorrow. If no announcement by then, then it's probably either Thursday this week or sometime next week

Those were announced with more than 24 hours notice, though. Most Directs are usually announced exactly 24 hours ahead of time

Could it be announced tomorrow, or is that off the table and this week is a no go? I read some outlets (like Gamerant) speculating that there is a connection between the Direct and a potential drop or two from Xbox (Hi Fi being one). Given the chaos Microsoft is managing now, they’re maintaining that Nintendo would follow this along with the update of their own financial report. Others were using this reasoning to think it would happen this week instead, but it’s not looking to be the case.

I’m not saying I believe this, I’m very skeptical actually of this supposed connection. Regardless, I think next week is a reasonable timeframe given March releases, and gives any shadow drops (like a Prime remaster or maybe Luigi 2) time to breathe and enjoy a healthy spike in sales. I place my bets for then, which would be nice, my bday is on the 16th 😅

My hype level has decreased. I know people were just guessing this Wednesday because it was basically the same day as the last 2 years, but now I have no clue whether to expect Thursday, next week, or March.

@Enriesto Wednesday announcement for Thursday airing is normal though if there isn't an announcement by 3pm UK time on Wednesday, there's no Direct that week.

@Grumblevolcano many thanks for the clarification 🙏 I don’t know the patterns of Nintendo in their first shows apart from them normally presenting in February. Here’s hoping we hear soon.

@FishyS The one Twitter account I keep a daily eye on, Pyoro, has only tweeted about fake rumours so unless they no longer have access to details I just assume there wasn’t a Direct for this week.

I mean Nate IS Pyoro and he is basically the only insider I trust.
So for me a Nintendo Direct on 14th/15th is basically confirmed. Looking forward to it ☺️

We get a direct but the monkey's paw curls and its just a direct dedicated to the Mario Vs DK game.

Remember when it used to be people posted rumours of when a direct would happen based on Amazon untitled listings? Now it’s just us looking at social media accounts and trying to determine which maybe legit and using the alignment of the stars and moon to calculate mathematically whether there’s a potential for an announcement. They were simpler times.

Nintendo should mess with all our expectations and have a direct on Saturday.

3pm UK time has passed and no Direct announcement so we know for sure it's not happening this week then.

I was hoping for next week since I don't have work then. Fingers crossed.
