Anti-Matter

I don't understand that "most wanted" game.

@Anti-Matter Outer Wilds is a fantastic adventure/ mystery game. I played it over 2 years ago on PC but I'm really glad it's coming to Switch so more people can experience it.

@StarPoint
But, from the trailer, I'm not a fan of locked 1st person view games.

@Anti-Matter That's fair, not everyone's into first-person games. But it's a lot different from other first-person games in that there's not a lot of action or fast movement, so you definitely don't have to be really good at other types of first-person games to be good at this one.

@Grumblevolcano Fantasy Life i got pushed back to 2024. Same with most of the other Level 5 titles.

Shantae did it for me, and that blade chimera game looked great. I don't know enough about outer wilds to be excited, but I'll look into it.

Has anyone tried any of the games or demos that are out today? I'm curious to know what to check out from the Indie World. Thankfully, the two I'm really on the fence about have demos, but I can't download them yet.

Interesting, Nintendo's removed the September general Direct from the Switch news section. All that's left from it are the Tomb Raider 1-3 trailer, the Wargroove 2 trailer and the infographic. For context, they removed the June general Direct from the Switch news section on August 26th and we got the September general Direct on September 14th (about 2.5 week gap).

December general Direct perhaps? Would be odd but they did do one in 2013:

I doubt they'd do it the week of the Game Awards as GTA6 would steal the spotlight but maybe a week or 2 later?

@Grumblevolcano But what would be the purpose? There’s nothing to really report on, unless they are really trying to just chuck out any news about games knowing they’re revealing the new console early next year.

@FragRed The same purpose as the early in the year Direct, just shifted a bit due to GTA6 complicating things.

@Grumblevolcano I've noticed they don't always remove the weekly or periodic articles from the news section in the same amounts of time. I'm not convinced there isn't just a random persom in charge who cleans up old articles whenever they feel like it.

I doubt GTA 6 would cause them to make a direct in December. If they have something massive to show, I don't know why they would push something towards a big game reveal instead of keeping it pushed back to when hype dies down. GTA 6's reveal is going to drown any other announcement.

FragRed

@Grumblevolcano Exactly what @VoidofLight said. GTA 6 is being revealed in early December so if Nintendo were to move the Direct to December then they are bringing directly into the hype. Leaving things as they are with the next Direct being February or March depending whether it’s a new console reveal or just ordinary Direct would make most sense.

@VoidofLight @FragRed The way I was looking at it was more about release date, the trailer itself will cause a lot of hype but the release date will be an even bigger deal. New big Rockstar releases are such that studios purposely avoid releasing their games close by because they know it'll be drowned out by the Rockstar game.

I think the next presentation/Direct is for the Switch 2.

Any games releasing between now and April will get individual announcements etc. Do they jave a Switch 1 specific presentation in the first 6 months of 2024? Maybe?

FragRed

@Grumblevolcano I don’t see GTA 6 launching at the start of next year. Think Rockstar are going to release in holiday 2024. Not that they have to do it this way. They are in the position to announce then release few months later. But I don’t think they’ll do that.

@FragRed I think April - June 2024 is possible but Fall/Holiday 2024 being more likely. The past entries' first release was in September - November except GTAIV which released in April.
