How long has it been since a Partner Showcase?

June of 2022?

Switch Physical Collection - 1,540 games (as of January 28th, 2026)
Switch 2 Physical Collection - 4 games (as of December 8th, 2025)

@Grumblevolcano @VoidofLight, why Nintendo need to show something at TGA? they already have Nintendo Direct to show it games, it pointless showing Metroid Prime 4, or any games at the event, beside if Nintendo show Metroid Prime 4 and immediately Rockstar show GTA 6, everyone would forget Metroid Prime 4 was show and start hyping GTA 6, better show such games, when theres no chance of it games been overshadowed by a much bigger game

Turns out you may be right, GTA6 is getting a reveal in early December:

@Grumblevolcano Nintendo are definitely gonna wait to reveal Prime 4 until the reveal of the Switch 2 now. Though I’m sure Geoff Keighley has been pleading with Rockstar to get GTA 6 revealed at his trailer showcase awards thingy-bob just to please that ever growing ego of his.

@FragRed I'm leaning more towards the Fighters Pass 3 theory at this point. It's the Nintendo announcement that has the best chance of competing with GTA6 (Steve broke twitter, that didn't happen with GTA5) and there's this reveal from the shareholders meeting regarding beyond March 2024:

"We will continue to release new games and content for Nintendo Switch without being bound by the traditional concept of the platform lifecycle."

Content means DLC and the only 1st party Switch game that currently has content beyond March 2024 at the moment is Splatoon 3 (even then it's possible that Side Order releases on February 29th given wave 1 was Spring 2023 and released February 28th). So I think this increases the chance of further Smash Ultimate support.

@Grumblevolcano I dunno, who’s going to be running the project? Sakurai has retired from the series so someone is going to need to take his place, even if it’s just DLC.

IIi doubt we're getting Smash DLC. Sakurai isn't one to get on making DLC because Nintendo forces him to. He's made it clear that Ultimate is as done as its going to get.

"It is fate. Many have tried, yet none have ever managed to escape it's flow."

@FragRed @VoidofLight I don't know on the specifics but I was just looking at it from a process of elimination for potential additional content and ended up with 3 games:

  • MK8 Deluxe (Booster Course Pass 2)
  • Splatoon 3 (Extended support for the game beyond the initial 2 year plan, would make sense if Inkopolis Square allows you to have Off the Hook shows with the Side Order DLC given the DLC's release timing)
  • Smash Ultimate (between licensing and that any new game's content would be compared to Ultimate in terms of amount of content, I'm not sure how anything but continued Ultimate support or the franchise going on indefinite hiatus would work)

Bloody finally; I was wondering if we were ever going to get another one before the Switch 2's reveal XD

Not too many expectations for this personally; hoping to see Pepper Grinder and Braid come over/get release dates and maybe even get another Nindie crossover title a la Cadence of Hyrule. Other than that though, I'm just happy to finally see another Indie World get announced

I'm just really excited for prison city Thursday. We'll see if they shadow drop anything else I'm interested in.

Every time there’s a indie world Direct I become less and less interested in what they reveal. They just seem to chuck anything on there now.

@FragRed I feel the same way now actually. It needs to be a sequel to a beloved game, or something big and established not yet ported to switch to get me excited. Lately, I rarely find myself interested in anything more than 1 game. Maybe 2 tops.

Grumblevolcano

@FragRed I find stuff that is interesting to me but by the time it releases I've forgotten about it because there's an extremely large amount of other games announced in stuff like general Directs.

Can't wait for dear god anything but Deltarune Chapters 3/4 to be announced as the "one last thing" this Indie World. (this is a joke I'm pretty sure that's releasing in Q2 2024)

Since we're officially done with Nintendo Presentations for 2023, I'm ready for one last disappointment this year. The Game Awards, am I right? Even if GTA6 appears during the show, I think Nintendo would benefit from a Metroid Prime 4 tease saying "Coming in 2024/5" being there. And if that does happen, there's probably a 2% chane Metroid Prime 2 Remastered gets announced as well.

(But what's even MORE likely is none of the above, and they'll probably just play a trailer for Luigi's Mansion 2 HD lmao.)

@Giancarlothomaz in my defense, some people already know that GTA 6 is gonna be like, due to that big leak awhile back. I don't think it'll be overshadowed, but it'll probably stand up in its own league, think of it like that meme with the guy excited to get 2 cakes even though one looks better than the other

Indie direct was a nice one. found a few games I will likely add to the wishlist, but will try demos and wait on reviews first. I like indies a lot but have to be more cautious about them so i dont get burned.

Physical release for Outer Wilds in 2024 was the best part of the Direct for me.

Nothing else grabbed my attention, Core Seeker maybe. Probably would rather Stardew Valley again.

Lots of investigation stuffs as well. Not unwelcomed but...no thank you.
