I’ve seen people like Centro on twitter (that guy is a fool) miscommunicating Pyoro’s tweets saying he’s teasing a brand new F-Zero and Donkey Kong. No he isn’t. Those could mean anything from remasters, NSO ports, new games, anything. Personally I think it’s most likely F-Zero GX HD the way Pikmin 1 and 2 were ported and not Metroid Prime: not a full graphical overhaul but HD touch ups and maybe even online functionality which would slap so hard. And the donkey Kong thing could be an NSO port. Could be either the Donkey Kong Land games on NSO, DK64 on NSO, King Of Swing on GBA, something like that. Or something like a new 2D DK country but I doubt it. I’m still skeptical, I guess we’ll see what happens ‘next week’.
It feels like people are really desperate to play Mario Party 3 (the wait has been a long time since 1 and 2 happened in November) so I could see a NSO Expansion Pack segment revealing release dates for the remaining games confirmed in the previous Directs (all of them are probably 2023 releases). A reminder, those were:
@TheBigBlue They replied to someone on Twitter saying same thing about F-Zero being an NSO game with the single word “no”. Obviously never take a leaker as gospel no matter how good the track record, but it does sound like it’s probably going to be a remaster if anything. And that to me makes most sense with this particular franchise.

Pyoro has confirmed that the F-Zero tease is not for Nintendo Switch Online, so I'm gonna assume it's the rumored GX remaster. He didn't say anything else regarding DK, but I figure that'll be a new game as well between all the rumors and Nintendo bringing him back into the limelight as part of their early multimedia ventures - why would DK be the first IP to get a Super Nintendo World expansion if they had no plans for more games? Oh, and we'll get a new look at the Peach game, too.
To be fair, saying it's not F-Zero on NSO doesn't really say anything at all. The only F-Zero titles not on NSO at this point are the GBA versions, and Maximum Velocity is already announced as upcoming, and the GC. If GX is coming to NSO the fact that it was F-Zero would be the smaller bit of that news, the bigger news is that GC is being added to NSO. So unlikely. And one of the GBA titles? Could be but.... Maximum Velocity is hardly a direct-tier title
Also I'm not entirely sure why we're spoiler tagging Nintendo Direct rumours. I would think if you don't want to read about Direct leaks you don't scroll through the Direct speculation thread. Though, I guess given the volume of posts in the last little bit.... probably a bit of a courtesy. I guess with the level of activity some people would be clicking in here wondering if a new Direct had been announced
@skywake From the top of my head if GX comes to Switch that means all of the main console titles will be there (SNES, X, addition of GX). Maximum Velocity isn’t worth announcing in a Direct as it can just be dropped with a separate trailer another time. GP Legend and Climax are unlikely to come to NSO due to the anime licensing but hey we recently got some random movie licensed GBC game
Have any of these leaks implied which day the direct will be? I've been assuming next week, but I wouldn't mind knowing a day. I understand Nintendo trying to keep game announcements under wraps, but the refusal to give advanced warning of the actual direct dates always annoys me a bit.
I don't know if this has been mentioned already but Pyoro tweeted "Reminder: Pac-Man 99 will be discontinued in one month" and has subsequently began to like replies which mention 'F-Zero 99'. This is getting VERY interesting now
@Nintoz Yeah and the guy that leaked/got information about the Mario RPG Remake also said something along the line of not expecting a new DK game (maybe a movie or sth?) but something else and that Metroid Prime 4 is ready to be shown off but is unsure if it's during the direct or not
@NephThe whole Donkey Kong situation could well be just a NSO thing. As a few people have pointed out, it's kind of an odd time for a 2D Donkey Kong. I wouldn't have thought Nintendo would want to steal SMBW's thunder. Wonder-thunder if you will! A 3D Donkey Kong would be amazing, the best situacion if you will. At the moment, I have full faith in Pyoro and I'd imagine he'd want to keep his squeaky clean reputation too!

If the Direct does happen next week, it makes me question what the state of Scarlet/Violet will be in when the DLC launches. Don't get me wrong, I didn't experience much problems with Scarlet specifically in terms of bugs (just a few things early on) but I know that it varied massively from person to person. Some had only a few problems, others had a Cyberpunk 2077 at launch scale experience.
On another note, I appreciate the use of spoiler tags regarding discussing the massive leak. I'd much rather mostly be surprised (a Nintendo news site already spoiled 1 thing because of a headline).
