@Grumblevolcano Makes sense, also hoping it means there’s going to be more Xenoblade amiibos coming in the future like with other series who have their own lines. During the Direct I got fooled into thinking it was a DLC announcement and now that I look back on it they probably would’ve chosen a more dramatic opening for potential Tears DLC. I’m starting to think DLC is getting less likely but I hope I’m wrong
I'll believe it when I see it. No way is a niche series like Metroid going to be their showcase game.
You say that as if Metroid as a series hasn't seen a gigantic resurgence within the gaming landscape since 2017. We've had:
a remake of Metroid 2
Ridley and Dark Samus in Smash
a brand new 2D entry that was also a revival of a long-assumed cancelled game (that also became the highest selling entry in the franchise until MPR came out)
almost every single classic entry being available to play on a single system through NSO
a shadow-dropped remaster of the original Metroid Prime that topped eShop charts for weeks after it's release
With the amount of momentum Metroid has currently (potentially even more if the rumours of Prime 2 & 3 getting the remaster treatment are to be believed) and the amount of anticipation for Prime 4 to finally be re-revealed, I could easily see it getting the 'one more thing' treatment.

@VoidofLight@Giancarlothomaz@FishyS Nintendo will have multiple launch titles, 3D Mario seems like a sure thing but having Metroid Prime 4 alongside it doesn't seem too far fetched, personally I think it will be next gen only, but there's a good chance I'm wrong.
@VoidofLight graphical/techinal showcase, you didnt paid attention to what i stated, look how good this particle/textures look on Metroid Prime 4 Switch sucessor version

I'm half convinced Peach game will be a launch title (with a new gimmick you can use on Switch 2.. maybe cross-gen with the gimmick optional). I realize I could easily be proven wrong in the next couple weeks at the Sep direct though.
@VoidofLight I mean last year Pikmin 4 was their showcase game and that's a niche franchise. If they're ready to reveal Prime 4 before they're ready to reveal next gen stuff then Prime 4 could definitely be a showcase game.
@Bolt_Strike That's not what @VoidofLight is saying, rather that Prime 4 won't be a showpiece for the Switch's successor like BotW was for Switch or Twilight Princess was for Wii. I agree with that logic, the showpiece for Switch's successor would most likely be 3D Mario.
But I do think we'll see Prime 4 in the next Direct and it'll release before the Switch's successor does. My prediction is 1st half of 2024 release for Prime 4 and where in that timeframe solely depends on how Nintendo approaches Prime 2 and 3.
@Grumblevolcano Okay, that I agree with, I do think Prime 4 may be ONE of the showcase titles but not THE showcase title. 3D Mario probably would be the biggest one, but I also think Mario Kart and possibly Prime 4 if it is cross gen would be big titles too.
Not quite sure if Prime 4 will release before next gen, I do think it might be cross gen, but it could be revealed before we hear about the next gen console. Similar to BotW, when we had a big blowout on BotW before the Switch was revealed.
Nintendo just removed the wave 5 trailer from the Switch news section, really gives me the impression the next Direct is going to reveal the entirety of wave 6 rather than just a small tease.
@IceClimbers Part of my predictions earlier in the thread is also that Peach game won't be fully in a direct until at least February. I'm split 50/50 if it will then have a Spring/Summer release or if if will be Fall, possibly alongside Switch 2.
Nate hints at a Nintendo Direct that could be airing next week.
Remake of the fourth Fire Emblem-game, Fire Emblem: Genealogy of the Holy War has finished development, waiting for an announcement. Could be announced, not sure.
He also heard that Nintendo is waiting to give Metroid Prime 4 a locked date, that it could be announced too. If nothing has changed, then it's looking like a game set to be released in the first half of next year.
The MP4 release date will for sure be 7/23/3462 (trust me guys my uncle works at Nintendo)
Only 1,439 years away folks!
