We should guess Metacritic scores every time a new game is close to release in each game's individual thread. At least I'm gonna try to do that.

I don't know about docked play as I have only played handheld so far, but right now I cannot fathom why on earth there has been such a heated discussion about DKBs performance. At least up until the second world (sub-level 101) there hasn't been a single drop in frames. It runs silky smooth. And it's great fun and feels totally different from Odyssey. But I guess i haven't even scratched the surface (or better top layer of the underworld) yet …
@LastFootnote The scope of the ACMI Game Worlds exhibit for Silksong makes it seem like the game is releasing before September 18th. My guess would be August release, maybe shadow dropped at Gamescom Opening Night Live considering the Silksong joke at Summer Game Fest.
phew, played more than three hours today and absolutely loving it. im not exactly a HUGEEE dk fan but im loving it even more than odyssey. platforming at its best! the destruction is so satisfying, and paulines introduction makes the whole thing so much better. currently getting fossils on the hilltop layer

Picked mine up around 8:30 this morning. Been playing it on and off all day as I’ve had time. So far really enjoying it, and I’ve only barely scratched the surface

I've only played docked so far, the game is too big not to IMO. It does seem to rather aggressively shove you into 30fps at times when doing things like the level intro panning shots. Which can be jarring. But other than that it hasn't really bothered me much. Either because it's not dipping or because the time when it does I'm too distracted by the fact that I'm ripping the world apart
If there are framerate dips during destructive moments then it's certainly not even in the same league as the kind of dips you'd see in something like BotW/TotK when you ended up building an explosive contraption that accidentally game-overed yourself. Which is good given this is basically "blowing up cave rocks in BotW - The Game"

An opinion is only respectable if it can be defended. Respect people, not opinions
I'm not too sensitive to frame rate so I haven't noticed performance issues.
The only actual complaint I have for the game is the camera — it's pretty insane when you're digging around; enough to make me just a little motion sick as well as having absolutely no idea where I am some of the time.
It's a mild complaint because I don't actually know how you would make the camera work well in such chaotic situations.
