I thought this was an interesting video that was hosted by Alex (normally not interested in Nintendo things at all). Basically the DLSS has been analysed and the Switch 2 now has a much lower quality cheap version of DLSS being used for some games and is especially used for 1440p and 4K upscaling. It seems like previously the couldn't work out how the Switch 2 with such a low level of performance could have the processing power/time to upscale to these resolutions but Nintendo/Nvidia came up with a new solution.

What happens is there is no upscaling post processing on the actively moving parts of the image so what remain static is upscaled and post processed but what is constantly changing (typically a much smaller part of the image) is not post processed and this gives a rough sort of visual quality but is cheaper (cheaper in time/resources) to implement.

While this is probably mainly hidden with the small portable display panel it becomes more obvious on the big screen.

However simply turning off post processing for the most active elements of the screen is a fairly simple alteration so maybe this could also be implemented on other systems not just based on Nvidia GPU's but AMD and Intel too to allow lower performance devices based on that architecture to perform better. Maybe something the Steamdeck could implement too.

In summary the Switch 2 can use a DLSS equivalent to an mid-level PC DLSS but also has a cheap version not seen elsewhere yet.

Maybe though the Switch 2 would be better off not upscaling to 1440p or 4K with this version of DLSS. It feels like the better option is 1080p with better quality DLSS rather than 1440p/4K with inferior DLSS.
