....Wished they would give us new questions, or minigames...or something.
Yeah, I mentioned this. You don't have to play it for long before you get asked the same questions over and over again
While I loved the pachinko style game in NintendoLand I don't really enjoy the one in Miitomo. Hopefully Nintendo et al will change the mini game regularly (and not just with different "courses").
The pachinko game feels so rigged! Of course it's just luck; I thought the badge arcade was pretty rigged, but this game definitely tops it! XD I wish you could also accept a prize of like 100 in-game coins instead of candy... I've barely used any candy, and don't think I'm going to use more ever. Plus, I already have like 60 pieces! XD I'm set for a while! I'm also surprised that the Ninja themed pachinko game is staying until May 8th... that seems a little too long to me.
I also wish you could decorate your Mii's room somehow. Maybe the wall color, floor pattern, something like that. I would make visiting friend's rooms much more fun.
I'm still playing it daily to get the coins, and I still find it quite fun, despite all my minor complaints. Sad to see it drop to 10th in the app store in so little time, but 10 is still pretty good.
Yeah, I had six game tickets today, and didn't win anything other than candy, which I have yet to use. In game coins would be a good alternative for a basic prize.
Currently Playing:
Switch - Blade Strangers
PS4 - Kingdom Hearts III, Tetris Effect (VR)
This app gets old really fast. I use it daily only for the coins, other than that, I see no point in answering questions or reading answers day after day. I answer whatever comes to my mind first even if it makes no sense. And I don't care what people had for dinner, even in the case of people close to me.
Too bad as it has many potential. The answering/reading stuff could be just one of the features but not the main one. Considering how many IPs they own, it's a shame they are not using them. I mean, you sort of have something from New Style Boutique, clothing, so why not add from other series:
Pets from Nintendogs + Cats. You feed and train them and take them to contests (frisbee, circuit, whatever) against your friend's pets.
Furniture from Animal Crossing. And a voting contest among friends on who has the coolest room.
Heck, the Badge Arcade so you could brag about your collection and swap badges with friends.
And so on. And no, no need for full games, just bits, like demos but with the social aspect, and they could use it as advertisement for the full 3DS games.
Oh, why the ... don't they link the app to Miiverse and StreetPass to see what games others have/follow, what/when they posted... meet people outside and get play coins, I mean, like most people I don't usually carry the 3DS with me, but most of us always carry the smartphone, so why not let the app handle StreetPass?
Anyway, whatever. But as it is, for me it's just an app to get coins by checking it and doing the essential stuff. And not that there is a lot to get with those coins, but who knows, My Nintendo just started and maybe there's something really interesting in the future.
@arojilla: are you playing the app with friends or random people? I like finding out how my driends are doing and what they are up to. They don't post every thought on normal social media, so this lets me keep up with them. I could see playing this with random people might not be as entertaining since you are as invested into people's answers.
People keep saying the Xbox One doesn't have Backwards Compatibility.
I don't think they know what Backwards Compatibility means...
Going through it, seeing what it's all about, I've come to two conclusions:
1) I've figured out what exactly they're getting at with Miitomo - I think.
2) It definitely isn't for everyone, but it is for me.
So, to answer the first question, since that's what's on everyone's mind, it's the obvious answer. It's a social network. Crucially, it's a social network for shy people.
My social network experience is one of enthusiastic adoption, genuine attempts to use it, and gradual dropping off to nothing. The key issue: I become reluctant to post anything unless it's Important™. I sit there staring at an empty update window, then decide I'll hold off on posting anything right now, and come back to it later. The result: I don't think my Facebook page has even announced the birth of all my children.
Enter Miitomo.
The daily missions are a gentle nudge to regularly share stuff about yourself. The gated answers discourage you from devouring everything posted by your friends in a single day. The mii's appearance, voice, and daily costume change allow you to present a fun, slightly goofy self, essentially nonthreatening and resistant/immune to criticism. Since it's all a bunch of Miis, in their goofy awkward glory, it's nearly impossible to take things too seriously. Their antics and voice would undermine the gravity of any high-drama topic (e.g., politics, religion, flame wars). It's not perfect, and still subject to abuse, but that's still easily addressed by Nintendo's (mildly annoying) dedication to affirmative consent.
In the long run, what does that mean? As long as other people are active, and things don't get too repetitive (portion control, people - the incentives are built around it), I could see myself enjoying Miitomo for a long time.
The amount of swearing and naughty stuff being said in this is starting to get a lil nuts, might be funny to hear a mii drop a F bomb, but the loads of stuff being said on this now is just getting a lil out of hand, dunno if anyone else is coming across all of this, but I am.

Not so far, but then again, I'm only friends with people I know in real life. I've experienced a really nice combination — some people tend to take the answers seriously, others just have a laugh, others do a bit of both. There's definitely some cussing — because, you know, we're all grown adults — but it hasn't been overbearing, and is often funny. Maybe my friends are just rad?
New update is out, fixes some bugs and increases loading speed.
Good news on the latter. That's something Nintendo really needs to address with these mobile-centric, free-to-play games (like this and Badge Arcade) — popping in for a few minutes isn't too appealing when the game takes three minutes to load.
(I complain, and yet my first My Nintendo reward cash-in is officially a Super Famicom hoodie for Miitomo.)
