i found this year in review to be quite charming, and i like how its overly straightforward. gets me even more excited for my switch stats to come!
anyways i only listened for 32 hours, which is very little compared to many others, but i was busy with my 73000 minutes on spotify wrapped. my top track was wave goodbye. so pretty! LOVE!

What my year in review tells me is that….

I use the app mostly to fall sleep.

My most listened-to playlist is Good Night, with my most listened to track being from that list. Quite surprisingly it’s “Globe: Nighttime (Forecast Channel)”.

My most listened to game was Tears of the Kingdom, and my most listened to character playlist was Prince Sidon’s.

My longest song on loop was “Ground BGM (Super Mario Bros 2)” at 35 minutes.

Listened a total of 216.5 hours worth of Nintendo music this year.

Where are you guys getting a number for how long you've listened to your #1 track? I can't find that anywhere.

I mostly listen to my Favorites and personal playlists, so apparently only official playlists count. That's why it thought I liked the Special Releases for Kirby Air Riders or a big, recent OST like Super Mario Party Jamboree so much. I still have yet to listen to the official theme or character playlists.

@Robot99 If you've used the extend feature enough, the Year in Review will show you the track you've used the feature with the most and for how long, and naturally said track tends to be people's overall #1 as well.

I've been listening to the Pokemon Legends: Arceus soundtrack... It's very similar to Mario Galaxy in way, and I quite like it!

@CaleBoi25, Legends Arceus isn't my favorite Pokémon game and it's one that I ended up skipping due to being busy with other games at the time, but I think its soundtrack is underrated a bit. The Mario Galaxy music is awesome too!

Personally, I think that one of the most underrated game soundtracks ever though is Pokémon Scarlet and Violet (though the games themselves are also quite underrated I think, as you can see in my top 5 favorite games list in my forum signature). The soundtrack in that game is one of my top favorite video game soundtracks in general. So many bangers. I would listen to that soundtrack on Nintendo Music a lot more often if I didn't have all of it downloaded on my phone already before the Nintendo Music app even came out.

I don't have any good guesses this week, so it's default time for me! Super Metroid, Majora's Mask, or 3D World. The only thing I can surmise is that it probably won't be a native Switch title, being that we just got 3 of them in a row.

Regarding the rest of your post - I personally think all Pokémon games have great music, and really wish TPC would stop dragging their feet with putting things on this app. You won't agree with me, but I actually think that the Switch games have generally weaker OSTs than the older games, although they're still good. I do admittedly have a lot of tracks from S/V specifically on my playlist at the moment though (21), so I obviously do think there are plenty of bangers in these games.

I'm predicting the rest of Splatoon 3 again, Ordertune released on December 11th so it could've gone either way (9th or 16th if they wanted to release around a year after launch). If it's not this week, I'm giving up on predicting it until we get more Splatoon Raiders info.

I'm predicting Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze for no reason in particular

My bad, I should've worded that better. I did watch the whole thing on YouTube back when it first came out. And it is true that it's definitely not my favorite Pokémon game. I would probably still rate it 9 or 10 out of 10 though. I do understand why you were confused 😅.

As for my guesses this week, I will go with:
The Legend of Zelda Link's Awakening (1993 or both 1993 and 2019)
Xenoblade Chronicles
Splatoon 3 Ordertune

It's kind of out there, but I think I'll go for Super Mario Land 1. Kind of surprised it hasn't made an appearance in Nintendo Music yet.

For my other two guesses, I think I'll go for my defaults of Super Mario 3D World and the rest of Splatoon 3.

@Nep-Nep-Freak ...no, i think the issue was; how exactly can you rate a game you've not played yourself? watching it doesn't really count unless it's more of a story game, which sc/vi really isn't.

@squiddu-real, it wasn't exactly my intention to "rate" it, I was just stating that it's not my favorite Pokémon game and that I like its soundtrack.

To answer that, if you check my games collection in my profile, I pass out 10/10 scores quite a bit. I only started massively getting into gaming just a few years ago and I'm still not quite an adult yet so I don't have a ton of money to spend on games, which means that I don't have a super huge collection yet: which is why I often do a ton of online research about a game (with story spoilers being an exception) before buying it unless it's a series I'm familiar with, so generally, if I buy a game, I basically already know I'm going to love it. Which leads to me passing out 10/10 scores quite a bit 😀.

@Nep-Nep-Freak i suppose i can't really fault you for that, only over the past year or two have i been able to comfortably get new games myself, if anything the switch 2 era is my first like that.

although i feel like i grew up strange because i've always had a very strong preference for nuance and i basically can never just hand out 10/10s. kind of miss being able to do that, but regardless.

having never played any pokemon and the company doing no favors to making me want to, the music is still very good, i can give it that.

anyways, surely this next release isn't gonna be another switch ost, three is already quite a lot! but also i pray it's not just mario land, they've sorta had an unspoken rule to not have a release go much below an hour in length, so if we do get game boy stuff i hope we get more than one

My guesses this week will be

• The remainder of Splatoon 3 (including Side Order)
• Donkey Kong Bananza
• The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages and Oracle of Seasons

I'm guessing Link's Awakening also. There are multiple versions so that's my only guess.
