Topic: Nintendo Music App

It's a big anniversary week! I feel like there was along period up to at least the late 3ds era where Nintendo would time it's biggest releases of the year to come out around the Thanksgiving break. A lot of consoles, Zelda and Pokémon games have released around this time so it's hard to narrow it down.
I'll put my eggs in the Zelda basket with Majora's Mask, Link's Awakening or Minish Cap just because I've got better odds than trying to work out what older Pokémon soundtracks they can or will include in this service.

Anniversaries are generally tricky to try to base a prediction on, this app has used them as an excuse to release things sometimes but it's seldom and random. Looking at anniversaries for this week that they could use, I'm not finding much - the few anniversaries that I can think of are either too far off or not a milestone year. The absolute closest I can think of is Mario Kart DS, which had its 20th anniversary three days ago, so I'll go ahead and add that as a backup prediction for myself.

@Dev-N Ah didn't know they made Ordertune. I only said that since as I said before, it's been a while since Splatoon music was added. We'll see what happens I guess.

Tomorrow is the Wii U anniversary so I'll predict a Wii U game. There is only a single true Wii U game on Nintendo music since if you click on the cross gen ones they are all labeled as Switch. Plus it's been only portable or hybrid consoles recently.

All my Wii Fit knowledge comes from Smash Bros... but the music is serene, so I'll take it.

what are the odds there are several iconic songs people have used a ton on this soundtrack that i just never knew came from wii fit? wii games seem to have a thing for doing that

I approve of them remembering to include the three tracks exclusive to the first game! Sets a good precedent for future games with similar soundtracks.

The Wii series sold insanely well (with the exceptions of Music and Party), it makes sense that a lot of people have been exposed to these games in some form or another. We're talking dozens of millions of copies per entry! As someone who grew up during the Wii era, it was also quite common for people who had no Wii to be involved in a couch multiplayer session with those who did, further raising the number of people who have played these games.

Sees notification about this week's soundtrack being Wii Fit Plus and remembers that he hasn't played the game on his family's Wii in years:

Someday Wii U will get a second real game on Nintendo Music though...

I was pretty close to adding Twilight Princess as a third guess tbh, since it was a Wii launch title, but I chose not to because it wasn't a milestone anniversary. Probably a good thing I didn't, as that wouldn't been setting myself up for disappointment with how close the logic would've been! X-D

Love Wii Fit Plus, very glad it's here!

My mom used to love playing Wii Fit Plus, actually! I remember she would play the bicycle game and our cats would follow her after a while. It was so cute.

And speaking of the Wii U, maybe Super Mario 3D World's soundtrack will be added next week? Since that game came out on November 22, 2013 in the US. I still really want that soundtrack...

just a passing thought, i feel like the app itself has all the essential features now, at least to me.

but what new features for the app do you want? not new music, i mean specifically improvements to the app as a whole.

@squiddu-real I think a very basic but important feature should be added, and that’s credits for the composers. It’s crazy how Nintendo doesn’t credit them for their own work

@Eek132 Yeah, it should be basic courtesy. It's even more jarring after seeing Sakurai personally giving a shout-out to Shogo Sakai and Noriyuki Iwadare, the two Kirby Air Riders composers, in a Direct.
