Topic: Fire Emblem Heroes

Fire Emblem revived my.nintendo for me. finally i got something to spend my coins on.

Completed the story mode, disappointed there was nothing on the radiance games (PoR and RD) but I guess it makes sense to start off with games that people can easily buy without spending ridiculous amounts of money (sure Mystery of the Emblem and Binding Blade are Japan exclusives but Japan Wii U VC has both).

I actually wouldnt mind spending some gold points on some orbs. 10 orbs for 10 gold points!!!

Finished up the first two missions of Chapter 9 in my play session today (those 4 Star heroes I got last time really helped out).

Also had enough orbs to do a full summon and got 4 Star Caeda (will be really helpful since she has an Armorslayer), Robin (first high level Blue affinity character I've gotten, which'll be a help), and Matthew (already have a thief of the same rank, so probably won't use him). My other 2 were 3 Star ranks, Lissa (won't use since I have a 4 Star cleric already) & Frederick (again, already have a 4 Star Axe wielder).

I'm going to level Caeda & Robin until they're even with my other 4 Star characters, then head back into the story.

I'm loving this game and I think I may be addicted to it. Never played a fire emblem game but if they're better than this then I have to play them! I was pretty lucky in my first summons as I was able to get a 5-Star Tharja (ON MY FIRST SUMMON and she is so good, like maybe a bit OP XD), 4-Star Niles and a 3-Star Gunter (whom is surprisingly good) and couple others characters in other summons such as 4-Star Tiki, Sakura (so happy when I got her, really wanted a healer), Shanna and Gaius. I'm up to chapter 7 in story mode but stuck on part 3. Here's my player ID if anyone is interested 1332698932

Yeah i have never played a FE game either. But i still got the ambassordor game on my 3DS. That game seems to be disconnected from the other titles so it should be a good game to test the series.

My team is nearing max level. And with the 10k extra feathers i will be pretty close to upgrading Robin to 5*. I think i was really lucky with my account. Took me a while to get these chars but now it feels great. No money spend, no rerolls!

It took about 5 rerolls but I got a 5* Tiki (young). She is incredibly powerful. After playing the game for a while, another couple summons netted me Lucina, Maria, and Hawkeye - all 5*

I have completed the story on normal, and hard and I'm currently on chapter 6 lunatic.

I'm not generally a fan of gacha games but I have to give Nintendo credit here. I was able to play for several days and had a ton of fun without spending a dime. I've reached the point where orbs are very hard to come by so that essentially ends the game for me as I refuse drop that kind of money on orbs.

Here's a thought, people are moaning over the price of 1-2 switch but are willing to drop $50 on Nintendo's made-up currency in order to have a small chance of getting a character they like. Every dime I have to spend toward video games is being saved for the the Switch launch.

Camilla and Lucina are stupid good as well.

I am afraid thats the idea behind this and probably many other mobile games.

To me it was like finding out how it is with those mobile games and possible microtransactions, pay to win and stuff.

I thought about quitting this game as well, when I realised its limitations and how its set up to keep me invested. However, I am still playing, wanting to see where I might go on a free basis.

Truth be told, its kind of addictive and I understand how people will be willing to invest money in it.
Like I said before, the price for 140 orbs is above what I paid for the FE Fates special edition. I think FE Fates is not only more bang for the buck, deeper and what not, but FE heroes has this gamble factor. You dont know what you will get when you summon heroes, you are limited by stamina in regard of grinding their levels and generally, as far as a game goes, there isnt really much to it. But its still fun!

Most of all, to me, its a lesson of having patience, limiting myself to the given FREE possibilities and refraining myself from investing any money into it - matter of fact, even though I know that the value of any investment into this game would be foolish imo and definitely not worth it, its kind of tempting to speed things up, nonetheless.

Just got Lucina on my 3rd summon after plowing through the first 3 chapters. I also completed the February quests on normal. My code is 1954749185.

Just a question, what is a reroll? Is it some way to negate your last summon results & do it again or something?

Also, I wouldn't worry about running out of Orb opportunities. I believe Nintendo said they were going to release 2 new story chapters a month (and if they have 5 missions with 3 difficulty settings each, that's a total of 30 Orbs a month, not counting any new special missions, such as the current one that nets you 3 Orbs for completing it, and any future potential log in bonuses, or maintenance compensations).

I will say I'm baffled that it doesn't seem to have a permanent Daily Login bonus system in place (after the Launch period of 2 Orbs a day). It's a common trait in EVERY other F2P game out there (they tend to give you a different item each day, that tend to get better if you log in on consecutive days. In this case, maybe one day you'd get an Orb, then some Training Crystals, Feathers, Orb again, Stamina Potion, etc.)

@DarthNocturnal, ah, okay then. I have already linked it to MyNintendo & am quite aways in, so it looks like that's a no go for me.

Not a big deal though, as I've gotten some pretty good heroes so far (one 5 Star, & six 4 Star).

My most recent summoning series was easily the most disappointing, especially since I finally had a shot at some blue fighters. All came back three stars and three of those were duplicates.

Duplicates are good. You can combine them to up one's stats

Any tips to beat the mystery warrior in Chapter 9, mission 4 (the masked dude with the Blue Tome)?

I can defeat every other unit in the stage, but he single handedly brutalizes my entire team. I'm going in with Tharja (5 Star Red Tome), Maria (4 Star Staff), Robin (4 Star Blue Tome), & Gaius (4 Star Thief). I also have a Caeda (4 Star Flying Sword) & Barst (4 Star Axe) if you think I'd be better served with them on my team. All are between levels 20-25.

... and Robin shows up! I'd say I've been pretty lucky so far. Not a dime spent (yet) and I managed to get two of the 5* cards I really wanted out of these boxes. Tiki is the remaining one I'm hoping to pull but even if she doesn't show, 2/3 definitely isn't a bad result.

I hope there's a Shadows of Valentia box to tie in with the game. I'm looking at some summoning videos now and all they're making me think about it the stupid amount of money I'd throw at a 5* Celica card drawn by Hidari. I'd throw money at a 5* Alm too, just to complete the pair.

@RR529 What is the Res for your Barst? The setup in the main games where Res affects damage taken by magic and Def affects damage taken by physical attacks still applies in Heroes.

From a weapon triangle point of view, Barst would be very helpful against the blue attack users but if your Res is too low then Barst will die quickly.

After a week of playing the game I have come to a point where its getting really hard.
Some heroes are just not good enough against certain enemies. Its getting more and more difficult to earn orbs. Stamina waiting time is getting ridiculously high, at higher levels it may take over an hour to get the points together. Mynintendo points are coming in handy for the time being but will deplete soon.
Overall still fun but getting annoying if you dont want to spend any money but still want to develope your teams.
Like I said earning orbs has become difficult. So the next summoning will have been earned with effort. If I get five 3 star heroes my disappointment will be great I think and even though I might not call it quits I will definitely take it waaaay more slowly.
Another disappointing thing: the daily special levels. You can earn two of the same heroes, one 1star and one 2 star hero, thats ridiculous imo. Ok, you can promote this guy but that would mean grind him up until level 20 and make him a three star hero, dough. Not worth the effort. Sending those guys home makes 15 feathers, considering the 20000 needed for 5 star promotion, well....

@GrumbleVolcano, I don't think his resistance is that good, but I'll check (Maria, Tharja, & Caeda all grant Res +3 to adjacent allies though, so maybe there's something I could do with that).
