@renaryuugufan92: For me Flipnote Studio being down is the biggest clue the new service is imminent.They also said the new service will be compatible across all devices so I think the new mobile game or maybe even a Nintendo app will be announced the same day.

Something is coming before the end of the month, and if not, definitely by mid November.

I wouldn't jump to the conclusion that maintenance means they're going to release something as soon as the services go up again. It could just as easily mean that they're doing the back-end work in preparation for something. Whatever that something is.

Do we have to add the classic question "Is Wild Gunman the announcement teased" or can we skip this one?

And if definitely not mid-november, then definitely before Christmas. And if not by christmas, then definitely in January.

And if not in January, then for sure in February. Repeat until Nintendo Direct happens.

I agree with Skywake. This maintenance, whatever it's for, is probably just some early preparation for future features. It'll probably be a while before we actually see Nintendo make use of them.

On the other hand, won't we immediately know what the update does thanks to data miners? Surely Nintendo expects that whatever they plan on hiding in the update will be unveiled by the public immediately.

Does anyone else think that if they were gonna release Twilight Princess HD this Christmas, they'd probably have announced it by now?
I guess the only explanation is that they've been rushing to finish it ever since Star Fox got delayed and they don't know for sure if they will, so they're leaving the announcement til the last minute.

Also, I dunno if anyone's suggested this, but do we think this was the game Tantalus are working on?

Some of us already talked about the high chance Tantalus has been working on TP HD in the Tantalus thread. And TP HD is 2016. Not 2015.

TP HD is neither 2016 or 2015... it's not even confirmed yet.

Realistically speaking, though, aside from all the assumptions and heresay, Nintendo did say they would have the club nintendo successor ready for the fall, right? So sometime before December 31st, hopefully.

The Digital Event. You really think TP HD would be coming this year without being in the Event? Yes, the Event was horrible and sloppy. BUT... Even TP HD would've been there if was coming 2015.

TPHD wouldn't have been on the NUS if it was a 2016 release; there are games releasing next month that haven't shown up on it yet. Why it wasn't shown at e3 isn't known, but the best bet is it was fast tracked to fill in the Stair Fax gap. Of course, there is a possibility the whole thing is a hoax.

TP HD isn't coming this year. They aren't gonna stealth release a zelda remake.

@OlicityBlows: Stair Fax? I hope that is Autocorrect going crazy as I might actually buy Stair Fax from Nintendo.

@Tsurii: I found this from an article earlier this year from this site during an investor's meeting: "Nintendo has previously stated that its replacement would be coming later this year, which means we could see this new programme rolled out in 2015."

So I guess they either specified fall or people assumed fall since CN didn't end for everyone until fall.

Agreed. If TP HD releases this year than Nintendo is truly sloppy at advertising and marketing.

@Blast: Unless of course it's digital only and is going to be an "available immediately after this presentation" type thing.
