The worst game over ever is at any game in arcades, because it means you have to put in more quarters

Worst for me was the original Wonder Boy, having to start the entire world over again... made me mad enough to quit playing the game for months in between. I don't think I ever finished that game, actually.

PAPER FREAKING MARIO!!!!!!

First, you have to watch Mario spin around and fall to the ground. Then, you have to watch him standing in the spotlight surrounded by nothing and with his back toward you. All while a mildly depressing theme plays. To make it worse, you can't skip it. At least you can skip it in TYD.

This doesn't really count as a game over but...

I was playing Brawl last weekend and was trying to capture Ridley as a trophy on Extreme Diffulculty of the Subspace Emissiary. I threw a Trophy Stand at him and success! But then the trophy falls into the abyss, missing the stage completely, while the level ends. I was so pissed! Not wanting to go through the actual stage to get to the boss again, I try another one. Then 10 minutes later the same thing happens with Meta Ridley. >.<

Donkey Kong 64. King K. Rool destroys the island.

I'm not certain which game over I've witnessed is the worst, tbh. I still find it very admirable how threads that are over a year old get revived (are they being searched by looking up Google, or are they being watched?).

Any of the Kirby games. Because it's just sad that you actually got a Game Over in some of the easiest games ever made...

Oh man, Dead Space all the way. I think it holds the world record for most ways to die in a video game. You can get stabbed, ripped in half... the list is endless.

Have any of you ever seen the Mappy game over screen?! The bad guys just mock you, and the music also mocks you! X(

THe game over screen(s) I hated was Starfox 64 they play this awful song, follow by this dark, sadding piece. As if losing all your lives on Venom wasn't bad enough, that ruined the whole mood. What's even worse is that you have to start all over. With that being said, I hated Majora's mask more, because the moon crashing into Termina (with You've met with a terribe fate, haven't you" was another way of saying "YOU FAILED!"

My number one is definitely Metroid Prime. That scream just makes me turn off the game.

Mario Kart 64 made me laugh sadly. I felt so sorry for my poor little Toad being blown up.

And, not exactly a game over, but the freaking dog in Duck Hunt! The number of times my friend and I tried to shoot it to no avail.
